@@Steve52344 he meant the passing of time getting the better of Ed Tom in his old age, after all this is no country for old men. What did you think he meant?
This is the first time I ever considered the similarities and contrasts between when Llewellyn and Anton respectively become severely injured and in need of assistance from others: Llewellyn puts up $500 for a coat and a half-finished beer from arrogant teens who initially seem to want to milk him for as much as they can get, whereas the two adolescent kids on bikes seem willing to help for free, but Anton insists on forking over $100. A lot of statements about society and human nature in general you could infer from these two scenarios.

wow. This is so well done. You analysed the movie and highlighted all the profound and meaningful parts togheater. This takes comprehending the movie to a whole new level. Best video on the movie I've seen so far. Congrats 👏
Carla Jean was the only one who defeated Anton, on a psychological standpoint, he still killed her, but she broke him, she took away his invincibility by making him except that he is just a man, not the grim reaper, but he doesn’t want to believe it, so the grim reaper emerges, in the form of a car trying to skip a light, as if to show Anton “You still belong to me”. Anton waited for the light to turn green, he followed the rules, and the car hit him, if the rule he followed, brought him to this, of what use was the rule.

Because he's a spiritually satanic evil and horrifying presence at the center of a very believable real world situation. Part ghost. Part psychopathic killer.
