Man...they are gonna kill their own game. They don't need their competition to do it. So done with EA.

Idk why that would make you stop playing, I used to do daily logins with Love Nikki, and it would have all kinds of fun things. This is just an event, not all the time type of thing.

This is just… wow. I thought the pre-order bonuses were shady but this event is absolute mess.
There are SO many reasons folks might not be able to log in every day. I’m beyond frustrated with the direction this game is going.
Yep. My computer can't really run games on it anymore so I just uninstalled the game to at least have more room on my computer.
Doesn't make the way it's going that much better, but you have to log in weekly, not daily. Iirc, it runs for 8 weeks and each week has a new item.
It runs for 34 days, not 8 weeks. Week One, you need to log in on 3 days, Week Two needs 2 logins, Week Three is 2 logins, and Week Four is 1 login.

If they are going to do login rewards I think they should just be like early access to those who claim them and patched in to everyone else later.
Or keep it permanent battlepass, so people in a few years still able to get these items for free via this method
So I like the idea of rewarding loyal gamers who play daily, etc. However, I never like making things permanently unavailable.
Yeah if it was just say some simoleans or points for the rewards store and remains opt-in then that wouldn't be so bad.
I think I heard that some modders found a workaround for these rewards.
Well, they accidently already put those in the base game > you need to sort Special > Event Rewards > and colors. This daily reward stuff is so dumb.
Advertisers want to see how much viewer/ user interact. I heard a rumor that EA planning ads in the game. Would explain all the free stuff

I *really* hope these are reoccurring. I think login rewards could only work if it is something accessible to those who miss it. I also think they should be a lot easier to get, like maybe getting either multiple months to get them or only having to log in once or twice in a month. Login rewards feel so out of place in a life sim game.

The new trait ''Practice Makes Perfect'' already exist in the game, when you create a club and want to specify admission traits, this is in the list already.
I just saw people also get it by randomizing traits while in CAS. Man, that’s hilarious 😂

These kind of daily events are the reason why I quit playing mobile games. I don't like the daily rewards. It gives a pressure to log in and my life just doesn't allow me to log in on a daily basis. I want to play the game when it suits my timing. With a job and a family it's just not possible. Having to log in at certain times/days has an impact on my real life. So my game will be lacking items that will probably be used in buildings on the gallery all the time.
I just got the login event 'Practice Makes Perfect' trait by randomising the traits in CAS. It doesn't seem to be selectable though.
It's probably a bug and it's hilarious that this happened when EA just announced they had assembled a new QA team...
Hey, maybe that means modders can just mod it back in. Granted that still means console players are still missing out so it's more of a band-aid on a knife wound.
I got it when my sim aged up, it was just there and selectable. I didn’t know it was a reward thing yet, but I took it, fit her vibe.
Though I do play on Xbox so that may make my game different 🤷♀️

My question is do I have to log into the EA app or do I just have to open my game to claim these prizes? I’m very confused on how any of that works I don’t really care about anything but I would like the recolor of the trashcan just because it’s so ugly

Thank you, I had no idea what this update was for. I was looking everywhere for information. I guess it was early still.
I missed most of the old events. The only one I’ve seen is the Sim Sessions, and I’m annoyed that I didn’t have all my sims buy all the swag.
The "food stall" from the sims sessions event exists in debug and if you place it in the world you can still buy the t shirts from it. Alternatively you can still get that stall and the other items from the event off of the gallery, or download a sim that has the shirts unlocked and add them to your family to unlock them.
Thankfully I am not a completionist so I don't care 2 hoots about missing any free stuff. I will play when I want to play. Their crap is not gonna change when I play
I rather play the Sims 3 anyway EA has been doing too much with the Sims 4
I had some slight hope the trait would be cool but nope it's probably the worst trait in the entire game.

You don't need to disable your Mods, Sims team is legally bound to refer to any modification as Mods, however, it's only related to CC. Coding mods are safe to use except for one or two mods that broke.
And as far as I can see, CC is also safe, I'm playing with all my mods except for the sliders for CAS and the game runs miles better and with no issues.
That's good to hear! Yeah, I was thinking of mods with visual aspects like the Matte/Backdrop Default Replacements and many other graphic overrides and CC I have. Just got back from my Bowling Night IRL, so we'll see how this update goes for me LOL
The game swapping to rendering in dx11 can affect textures, more likely with oldest CC. Ive seen this happen in another game where it did the big dx9 to dx11 jump. And its important to know that as of right now the dx11 is opt-in only.
As far as the update itself, that affects mods not just CC but who knows how wide that affects with this patch, too early to conclude.

When this comes out, go to your computer clock settings and change the date and time corresponding to each reward and claim them in between each date/time change to get the rewards in one go
i was just playing and i noticed that the decorative cushion they showed for week 3 is in my build mode catalogue rn when i filter by colour idk if it's a bug
I'm guessing it's a bug, hope you get to keep that though.
I actually already have DirectX 12, so obviously I don't need 11, and my game hasn't had the bigger problems that others have had, like crashing, my only problems tend to be just game glitches, things that can only be fixed by EA fixing the darn game itself! And of course just game play problems, with some of the things in the packs not working the way they are supposed to!
And also I don't play with as many mods so many others do, I also don't have much CC, I only use some minor skin details stuff, which are mostly just some enhancements to their faces, and some on the body! I stopped using more major CC, like hair, makeup, clothes and Eyes, though I have kept the eyes I got in the game, I haven't used them since i pulled out most of my mods and all my CC as I said, about a year ago! So that may also be why I don't have the big problems, like crashing or not being able to open my game like others!
The mods I use are MC Command, UI Cheats Extenson, MizoreYuki Stand Still in CAS, NO Practicing Singing, aon selectable Pets, Shortcuts + 3.0, there is a 4.0 but I don't like that one so I switched back to the old one, and it works fine still! A few days ago I decided to add most of the MODS from Sacrificial Mods, but I haven't check if they work or not, might have to see if they need to be updated or not, with the new update, but then maybe they had already updated them before the update, like MC Command did recently!
As far as these special things, I do find them doing this to be wrong, because it means a lot of people won't be able to get it all, if any of them, which isn't fair! I was lucky enough to get all of the other special things over the years, but I still find it wrong for them to do! But not surprised that EA would do something else that is wrong, since it seems like whenever they have some new thing to tell us, it's usually something that no one wanted and no one actually likes! But we all know whatever they do, it's not really for us players, it's for EA, for some money making scheme they have!
My house is getting fumigated this week and next week and I’m away from my PC so I won’t be able to get these things…
I can’t even play because the app is so broken, so I’m basically going to miss them. I’m also really busy at work right now.
The performance update has made a world of difference in my game. Much less standing around and lag time between interactions. Barely any cancelling out of interactions. I’m a fan. Everything else is a no for me {I use MCCC and it is working just fine with the update)
It's bad enough almost every ea game wont run without 3rd party software due to them switching to the "ea app"... I'm at a point where i might just give up and stop playing it like i did with skyrim/se and fallout 4 due to Bethesda not knowing when to just leave almost 10 year old single player games alone.
no no no no no. fomo in sims is an idea that I didn't need to see again. a fomo cas trait? just stop. battle pass or daily login systems is why I stopped playing a lot of games. BUT we have build mode items, so I'll bite that bullet for now. dear sims, you've won. I give up my boycott. I hate you. I'm not even joking. I'm seething.
If they really wanted to reward player loyalty / engagement they could have just incorporated these items into the in game achievements section they abandoned years ago.
Players shouldn’t feel obligated to log into the game just for a few items, we should come back because we actually enjoy the game. Relying on artificial engagement is just sad
I need mods just to fix the game's bugs. I'm not disabling them. They're a necessity since the Sims team takes years, if that, to fix anything. Still waiting to be able to hatch eggs in the non cottage living worlds
i deleted the game cuz of the bugs and I've been a sims fan for soon 20 years (turning 22 next month)

I wasn't aware this is happening. I need to read about this again. I'm guessing this is intended to get simmers interested in playing the Sims. But I hate the idea of any future monetary system that tie in to playing this game.

Re: dx11 - Most computers with Windows have been running dx12 since sometime between January and November of 2015 - so within a year or so after TS4 was released. I am not sure how their 'upgrade' to dx11 would affect mods as I doubt if modders are running systems with dx10 or older. I guess we will see, but my feeling is that any script mods would not be affected. Older custom content might be, but on the other hand, if modders have already been creating CAS and B/B objects on dx12 or even dx11, then it seems logical that if we activate the render to dx11 our mods/CC would be safe.
I don't see directx11 being a problem... it's been around for years. It's also been the go-to rendering program for every game for me vs vulkan and dx12 so far on two whole systems I was on.

The trait can already be gained in game. I know a few people who got it. They sent me screenshots of it. Im an admin in a Sims group.

I woudln't be surprised if you need to own the right pack in order to use the items from the dailies.
I already have other games that I have to log in/play to claim daily rewards so it's not really an issue for me.
Looks like the cats and dog hairs is a version without the umbray coloring to it so at least it's slightly different.

Yeah, I really like the necklace too. I have a similar CC necklace, but it'll be nice to have one in-game that I can use for when I upload for the Gallery, since I only upload CC-free.
@@HughLlewellyn That’s how I am too. It’s a lot of work to put a sim on the galley with cc, if I can’t remember every single thing my sim or sims, are wearing. I know this is a mix of werewolves, and spellcasters key necklace. Wistful Castle has something similar, using vampires and realm of magic. I believe the paranormal stuff pack as well.
Does the game if you have direct 11 or direct 12 already capable with your computer not just simply run the best available with the game, or does one have to go into the game and enable direct x 11 in the game itself for it to apply to the game?
I had to manually enable the DirectX 11 option through the EA App. It was still using 9 for me even though I have 12. Makes sense since it’s an opt-in thing for now

I would like a handicap trait like idiotic or puny. Essentially make the Sim have difficulty learning certain skills.
The DX11 potentially causes a problem with code so some people may need to add or remove a line of code, I forget which, but if you search around you should be able to find the fix.
LOL let’s be real is it ever a Sims 4 update if there’s no controversy about it 🧍
