When I first heard the sangha Jung's version of someone like you, I was on the verge of tearing up because of all the emotions it brought up. It just shows how beautiful music is, that it can moved you to tears.
How can someone thumbs down anything that this kid does? He is an absolute genius on the guitar, those idiots don't understand how hard his style is! He tunes the guitar according to the song and figures out the vocals and rhythm, then plays it in one piece!!!
He's technically very skilled, no doubt, but to be fair all he does is copy other's work. If he would just start make completely new songs himself, then we can talk about genius.

Or you could search for "sungha jung original." I'm not trying to be all, "OMG Sungha's the best in the world! Everyone should love him!" - but he does do more than covers (which are fantastic in my opinion).
The notes and chords he plays aren't difficult but the way he makes the guitar sing is incredibly difficult. His playing is just extraordinary, his dynamics and phrasing are so beautiful.
I've been playing guitar for over 5 years, and I started learning this finger-picking song when the tabs came out. I can play about 1/3 the of the song, but I will never play it with as much soul and heart as Sungha. This playing is beyond just knowing the notes and chords and getting good at the timing, its the dynamic and "loudness" and "softness" that makes it one of a kind. Sungha, if u ever read this, amazing job you are one of the best guitarists I know :) just outstanding. I can't even dream of playing 1/2 as good as you.
What Sugha Jung does that I like is play using phrasing and dynamics in a very satisfying way, including louder choruses near the middle of the song. Some people play too delicately and it annoys me, or hammer through everything. Sungha is a master. :D
The arrangement is exceptional. There is obvious talent in his playing. The fact that he made sense of this song for fingerstyle the way that he has reconfirms his musical ability beyond the guitar.

Ofcourse he has. Hes worked very hard indeed. Do you not see a polite way of saying the young mans a genius at what he does. I am free to comment and pay him what i believe to be compliment. Hes truelly talented and it is merely my way of saying that this skill runs through his viens.
Definitely a practiced musician, but he's clearly got an ear for music which in some cases can't be learned. He's also excellent at making arrangements and I believe I read it takes him about 3 days per song. There's learned abilities, but we also see a musical ability he was likely born with based on his skill level at such a young age. Not everyone can understand music the way he does even if they had spent the same hours at it. At a young age he found something that's meshed very well with him and he's been improving at an incredible pace since. I also completely disagree with calling someone stupid for having a varying opinion. One leans towards a nature belief, and the other towards a nurture belief. Both are at play here.

I can't place my finger on it but I seem to have a connection with certain Adele songs.
