Hi everybody! In the previous video there were a lot of comments recommending me to roof the house with clay bricks. Currently I have collected almost all wooden planks. What should I do? Should I roof my house with wooden planks anymore?
If you are already mostly set up for wood please continue then when/if the wood is no good anymore you can do clay. this will be a good example of the durability of diffrent roofs.
For the chickens: you want to give them a good run area that's well protected, something like a 6ft x 6ft area. Since you don't have access to netting, you could weave a bamboo cover for the top, it just needs to be tight enough to stop predators from getting in and them getting out. Then you need a well covered chicken coop with a closable door to house them at night / bad weather. If you put down cut grasses, etc. on the bottom of the chicken coop it'll make it easier to clean it out and you can add the old grass and chicken poop to a composting bin.
Great rundown! It would be crazy if he could make all that as a mobile coop and fence that he can move across his farmland, fertilize the fields in rotation.
@@szeddezs actually he could build a raised chicken coop and just use two logs as skids so it could be moved and then the fencing could either be done in sections or just have a few posts that actually go into the ground. That would make it easier to move.
@@cursedxistence that's the best idea, since he's got rats as a predator the raised coop is best, I've got about 30 birds, ducks & chickens, I have to deal with North American predators, but rats/mice will be attracted to chicks, not so much pullets and full grown birds. Also avoiding excess grain/feed on the ground will help. Don't let the chickens in your garden, they will eat your food or dig up plants. Get ducks for gardens.
@@dickhugh970 ya i got 13 little fuckers running around atm. I have a farm in Oregon. We are all fenced in but they still have their own little area because of cougars and hawks.
Buddy there’s nothing you do that surprises me anymore. You seem to be a master of everything lol. You have a great life that you worked hard for so be proud. Love your content so keep it up. Great job.
I have raised chickens before. Just being around them, feed them and talk to them , they will common down and be tame. Chickens will be great to have around. Eat a lot of bugs too! Make sure they have shelter and a place they feel safe. They will return every night to roost.
Yes...spend time with them. We had about 60 layers and managed to get our hands on an old, non road worthy semi trailer. We cut a hole in the side, and converted it to a chicken coop. (Eventually put rabbits in there too!). Built a ramp to go up to the hole (which we covered with a doggie door) and eventually the chickens figured out that when it was dusk...it was time to go in. They'd go marching up that ramp one-by-one every single night. No wrangling required. There was a bit of ruckus if we didn't get out there and open that doggie door first thing in the morning, however! :)
So happy for the mother hen and chicks to be reunited! Domesticating the mother will take more time because she was wild, the chicks already look more used to you. It will be easier with them. Build them a safe fenced in area (with a top to be safe from predators) with a nice hen house for nesting and getting out of the weather. Food is your friend when taming. Like banging the gong for feeding the fish, make a sound to call to the chickens when you feed them, so they become familiar with you. You’re doing great, I love your Chanel and videos, thank you for taking us all on this journey with you! Wish you well!
Big tip: cook the corn over the coals with the leaves still on, it will steam the corn inside, it the easiest and best way to cook corn. Great job on the garden, corn grown by hand is the best! I grow my own too. Very satisfactory. Also great job on the mother hen and chicks, they look very healthy, so cute!
That's how we do it! There's a guy who sells corn on the cob and that's how he cooks it. Much better than boiling! (Most people don't understand that it only takes 3 minutes to cook corn on the cob that way.) I lived in Nebraska for awhile. There's nothing like picking your own sweet corn and cooking it right there. Yummy!😸👍🌽🌽🌽
The problem with that method is you can't pick out that big green worm hanging out inside before roasting... People of a certain age will remember when this was very common.
About chicken taming: I've been through this the last half year as well, got new chickens at my home, feed them regularly, 6-8 hands of grain/insects a day for your amount, give them shelter and enough room to live, after 3 months they should be used to it and stay at your place.
They need some green food too, so they don't get sick... banana leafs are great, also the leafs of growing corn. check it out: ua-cam.com/video/ZPP0Vufg8ZA/v-deo.html

I'm so glad you caught the mother hen! The chicks would have been ok without her but I'm sure they're very happy to see her! She will protect them, teach them how to be proper chickens. I think with care and patience you will be successful domesticating them. Slowly, with lots of love: that's the way.
I knew you could do it! Good job on catching the mother. I really loved how you showed the process on how to make rope from hemp and the skill you showed in separating the bamboo into smaller and smaller strands was really masterful and cool to watch. As for the cage for the Hen and chicks, my advice would be to create a woven enclosure that's big enough for you to stand and walk around in so it can be easily cleaned and have a second but smaller "building" (hen house) only needs to be 4x4 feet wide and 4-5 feet tall as you'll want to be able to get into it to clean it. This creates a safe area for the hen and chicks to be safe at night and a place for you to feed if you don't want to monitor them during the taming process, as you may be busy .

Great job catching hen. In your coop you will need a roost as chickens like to sleep off the ground. Some nesting boxes would be good too. Mother hen can have a place to lay eggs as well as the future grown hens from chicks. Of course a feeding and water trough will be needed. Hens will start to lay eggs in about 20 weeks. Good luck with your chickens. They are rewarding with eggs and meat. Be blessed with good health and peace. 😊🇺🇸
Everyone has already made great suggestions for the chickens, and I agree cooking the corn with the Husks still on is a great way to cook the corn. I am surprised you've not made some thing like an iron griddle to cook on.
These weeks or month that you will keep them in the house you have to give them fresh water and feed them daily morning and evening you can give fresh greens and old fruit you may can give them flour as you give to the fish from roots and fresh greens and you get a lot of eggs later. eggs are full in energy and give you too much food.
Probably because he learnt them from his grandfather and dad because they all fled to the jungles and had to make and eat what they could during the war bushtucker skills..
Chickens are a tough one to tame. It usually takes a couple generations. I eventually got mine to come to me when I got home. They knew my car. Feed them at the same times every day. The quickest way to tame your chicks is to get them to associate you and your hands with food.
Basket weaved to hold and carry chicks is wonderful...thoroughly enjoyed watching you confidently source material, prepare it into desired workable components then continue on to expertly make it; impressed🌴
Taming wild chickens might be very different than domesticated ones. But in my experience with domesticated chickens it's as easy as having a nice enclosure, feeding them and spending them with them. Eventually they will stay around the house even if you release them because they know you feed them. Making them cuddly, so you can pick them up and such, is a bit harder. You'd have to spend a lot of time with them, every day. And let them get used to being touched.
Great job on catching the hen. I own and raised chicks from eggs and have roosters, hens, and chicks as of right now. You’re doing great they will eventually get to know you and won’t be scared of you. You will be able to let them roam around freely as long as you keep them fed and happy and have a place for them to roost at night, chickens love chicken coops bc they feel safe away from predators at night that should be your next project for the chickens. Love what you’re doing very educational!
Yes my wife & I have, the hens are notorious for not wanting to be tamed but when you have them from chicks they're pretty easy & food is the common denominator. It certainly looks to me like you are doing everything right quite naturally👍
For me, I have found calmly, quietly talking to animals helps domesticate them. Make them feel safe around you, no sudden or loud movements. Chickens will come home to roost in the same place every night. Once they are used to you, and found a safe place with food and water. They will stick around close. If you have predators you may want to make a secured roost for night time. During the day you will have them all over your place, around you easy to protect. Personally I would not cage them during the day after they are used to you. Good lick, I hope you have good success.
That was a fascinating process of catching and taming a chicken 👍you now have fish and chickens to look after but the source of protein will be very welcome and worth it 👍fantastic video thanks 🙏
Maybe a chicken tractor it's a mobile chicken coop you can drag around and fertilised the soil at the same time keep up the good work thanks again for another awesome video
I have found that chickens thrive best either loose or in a movable enclosure. I don’t think letting them run loose is ideal in your situation so I would recommend a small coop you can move by hand that gives them a place to roost that is up off the ground and covered to give them shelter from rain. This would be paired with some type of fence to keep predators out and keep the chickens in the spot you want them. The cage you were keeping the chicks in would be sufficient with a few modifications. Put a floor in it so it forms a complete basket and maybe poke some sticks through about 3-4” from the bottom for them to roost on. As for your fence you could weave rectangular bamboo panels that you tie together with string each time you move them and if it is high enough, 3-4 feet or so, you don’t have to cover the whole thing but if you have lots of hawks or owls then I might do it anyway. After you have the requisite materials for your pen you set it up wherever you want them and move them every few days. The more often you move them the smaller the enclosure can be. And as for locations might I recommend non productive areas of your garden so they can eat the pests and fertilize the soil a bit.
I can almost smell the delicious aroma of the corn being roasted in the open fire. I love cooking corn that way. It gives a really special flavor to the corn.

You are extremely resourceful and clever, Bravo! Someone typed that you should talk to them so that they get used to you. I agree. By the way, I still think that your roof ought to be made with ceramic tiles. The wooden planks that you have can be used to make a chicken coop to protect them from other wild predators like fox or boars. With the extra hemp rope, make another pair of sandals to protect your feet. Your floating rice paddy is successfully growing! Great job and keep it up. I look forward to your next video. Be safe and take care. 🤗

Nice. Finally some chicken. You should build a nice chicken coop for them, so they won't flee or be attacked by predators. A small house with some tall fences should do it.
i was always wishing for this video to happen. my advice would be to give them their time and space, slowly they will get used to having you around them.
A chicken coop is more to protect the chickens than to keep them from running away. You should make it so that they can go in and out during the day and close it up at night. You also need to water them.
I really look forward to your videos and what amazing thing you will create or do. You never disappoint. I do have a question...of all the creations you have developed through you talents and patience I don't understand why you haven't created a cooking stove instead of cooking on an open fire. Keep up the great works that you do and be sure take care of yourself, you work awfully hard and don't ever rest that I can tell. Thank you again for sharing your extraordinary creations and talent through you hard work. And I want to mention Thank you for the subtitles...as an international fan I really appreciate it. I'm from California USA. Bless You!!
Leave the husk on your corn when you cook it in the fire. Chickens are easy to domesticate. Its keeping them alive thats the hard part. Build the chickens a well built coop that will keep them safe. Good luck friend
Food, water, shelter is all they need. Mama will teach them to forage. Water is a must. Same time everyday feed them, they will expect it. Lock momma up for 3 days but let the chicks have access to her.

After you have the requisite materials for your pen you set it up wherever you want them and move them every few days. The more often you move them the smaller the enclosure can be. And as for locations might I recommend non productive areas of your garden so they can eat the pests and fertilize the soil a bit.
“It’s great to hold the corns I created in my hands” ❤️
I can almost smell the delicious aroma of the corn being roasted in the open fire. I love cooking corn that way. It gives a really special flavor to the corn.
You're doing an awesome job. Glad you made it home safely.
if you hold the fish by the tail and bob it up and down in the water, it will force oxygen back into it's gills, you can revive them
Pure ASMR. I like that you do sooo many videos recently. Seems like your team in the background is grown. Maybe you can give a timy overview over how you're cutting videos and doing things in the background on your second channel.
It looks like you've domesticated wild chickens. You stayed the course and made it happen , wow!
Good work. One thing I know about chickens that they love eating fish.
Hi, you can make an automatic saw that turns trees into lumber using the waterwheel. This is possible with the pedal system with chogwheels and gears in order to increase the rotation speed of the saw.
I thought about that too, I even imagined that he could improvise an automated lathe with the waterwheel, dont you think?
@@harrylehmann Definitely. At the core of all industry is a constantly spinning rod. It doesn't matter what you spin it with water, oil, gas, steam. Thanks to that rotating rod, our car is going, our machines are working. :)
@Brian Waas I totally agree with you on that, he’s not got the head and volume of water to provide the power to make a saw work
Ваше видео как релакс. Какое терпение надо иметь чтоб так долго ловить маманю.
Wow, bamboo is amazing. This man made everything from it. A cage, tools, water pipes, cups, floating rice fields, a net, a roof, etc.
Duong Sir your knowledge and skill is second to none , I not surprised of your achievements the building of the main Pond showed your understanding of not only construction by the Engineering requirements , You are unique my Respect to you Sir from down under Oz land
Great process. Are the chicks and hen drinking water? Too important. A cage has to have a roof to protect them from sun and rain. Great job.
Felicidades!!! 🙋🏻🎊😀
Tus vídeos son muy bonitos los miro junto a mi familia y me encanta todo lo que haces es tus vídeos.
Sigue haciendo más vídeos y cosas bonitas que se hacen en esos lugares bellos.
The best cage and design I have ever noticed,U R so talented and resourceful.great job.
Thank you!
Now build them an awesome chicken coup, use your amazing skills.
You are a top man. God bless.
I really want to see catching fish from pond
Nice. Finally some chicken. You should build a nice chicken coop for them, so they won't flee or be attacked by predators. A small house with some tall fences should do it.
i was always wishing for this video to happen. my advice would be to give them their time and space, slowly they will get used to having you around them.
Bamboo still amazes me. It is a very versatile material. Your crafting skills are quite impressive.
estoy aprendiendo mucho de ti amigo , gracias por tu contenido tan basto y rico
Gracias por la traducción y saludos desde la Ciudad de México 🇲🇽
the corn the chickens, man you are amazing and compassionate.
Bless You!!
Шикарная клетка!
Ты гений! Вдохновляешь!
Leave the husk on your corn when you cook it in the fire. Chickens are easy to domesticate. Its keeping them alive thats the hard part. Build the chickens a well built coop that will keep them safe. Good luck friend
please don't forget that chickens need to drink water. make a cup of water for them near the cage, so that they can always drink it.
You are a true craftsman. Beautiful chicken cage.
don't forget to give water to chickens and chicks they love water
Клетка просто супер!!) и ТЫ тоже СУПЕР!!! Очень нравится смотреть тебя!!!))
Bamboo is so amazing and wonderful! I am growing yellow stripe bamboo, hopefully in a few years I can start to use it.
Food, water, shelter is all they need. Mama will teach them to forage. Water is a must. Same time everyday feed them, they will expect it. Lock momma up for 3 days but let the chicks have access to her.
Don't forget to leave out a little water bowl for the chickies
Muita sorte. Um forte abraço.
8:30 Absolutely stunning ! Cheer ! I really like it
Muito legal a gaiola bem feita como tudo o que você faz parabéns
I like this guy, Everything he can make, super power guy
Mother can risk their lives for their child, whether it is human or animal or bird. One like for all the super moms 👍
Hola! Cuando la gallina ponga un huevo y lo quieras usar recorda que es muy importante "poner un huevo falso" para que la gallina no se asuste y para que siempre ponga en el mismo lugar. Que Dios te bendiga!
The hens are beautiful. All that God has created is a testament to His Awesome Handiwork :)
Мастер своего дела🤝
You could make a living off of your weaving abilities..those cages are gorgeous
