    I am so impressed with Nelson's engine too. 3 Gates to Hell with Hana, Rin and Willow. Plus Points for discarding cards, for scoring the Coven Track and Points instead of Mana. I think you might have had one of the coolest engines I have seen in hundreds of tests :D Good job!

      Stefano, thanks so much for taking the time to watch the video and comment. And congratulations on the game. It's so good!
      Yes, Nelson was very happy with his engine, and I've passed along to him how impressed you were with it. 😁

      I have to congratulate your work on such an amazing design. Dou you perhaps have any info which could be revealed on when the game will be available in Spanish?

      @@juanprietoian1890 Thank you so much, you are too kind! Nothing official or definitive yet on the Spanish edition at the moment, but there is some movement on that front. It will definitively take some time tough.

    The tableau aspect is very reminiscent of Elysium. Cards "above" can be used for actions, resources, etc. Cards "below" are used for scoring.

    Thank you for your game overview. Clear and concise. Talking about clear and concise, I really like the setup behind you, the floating board game boxes look really clean. Would you mind sharing the system used to suspend them? Thank you.

    How competitive is it? Is there a way to do Take-That? Or is it similar to Earth where everybody builds their tableau and is not interrupting the others?

    • @meeple
      @meeple  Рік тому

      There's not really any type of Take-That in the game. The closest I've seen is that some cards will allow you to benefit from some actions of other players. And of course the claim-jumping aspect of the places of power cards, and public worker placement spots.

    as someone who has bought and then sold games like Imperial Settlers and Wingspan due to a lack of interaction my obvious question here is: Are you just waiting for players to finish their turn and do you only overthink your own moves without having any interest in whatever the other players are doing when its not your turn?
    Or is there stuff your opponents do which you do have to pay attention to?
    Is interaction only present with the area control fase (where its probably more important to reach the breakpoints in stead of being the one with the most workers)

    • @meeple
      @meeple  Рік тому +1

      There is more interaction than you'd probably expect. Obviously the area control has interaction. You want to win as many of those power stones as you can but you have to be strategic. And then of course worker placement blocking - someone might take both actions in an area and you're out of luck. But there are also cards that trigger off of things you're opponent is doing, or cards that let you use some of your opponent's abilities or harvest their cards. So its very good to be following what every player is doing.

      @StefanoDiSilvio Рік тому +2

      I am obviously not the most unbiased person to answer your question, but I wrote a designer diary on BGG (see Part 1) where I discuss my idea of interaction for Evenfall. I also talk about it more in detail in an answer below the same post. Hopefully, it can help you get a sense of what you can expect from the game and whether you might like it or not.

    Looking at each players play area I'm getting a bit of an Imperial Settlers vibe. Looks very cool.

      I could see that vibe, but of course there are no individual decks at all.

    I feel like witches are having a low-key cultural moment right now. Just in upcoming board games alone, there's Evenfall, Septima, Witchcraft!, Harrow County... just off the top of my pointy-hatted head.

      I prefer watching reviewers which provide a balanced review, clearly pointing out flaws rather than are purely cheerleaders. Helps avoiding buying games which do have certain issues which lead to them not being played at all and are stuck in my shelf.

    • @meeple
      @meeple  Рік тому +6

      Like us, Rahdo focuses on games he enjoys. With that said, if you watch enough of his content, you can appreciate the range of his enthusiasm. And for this game, it seemed particularly high. And we agree on this game for sure!

    • @meeple
      @meeple  Рік тому +10

      Just don’t be fooled by negative points for the sake of negative points. I’ve noticed that many reviews with negative points often stretch to find nit-picks, and then dwell on this nit-picks far more than all the great positive things a game offers.
      And also, don’t mistake genuine enthusiasm for a game for cheerleading. Maybe the reviewer just focuses on the positive things in life more than the negative. 😁

      @a-c-m Rhado is 100% clear on this. He's stopped covering games he doesn't like. He's a care bear gamer and a majority 2 player person. He weeds out all the games he doesn't like and shows you the games he does. So basically his job is to show you what he reccomends. There's no harm in that. It's his channel
