Homemade Circle Shear

- Using a cheap bead roller to make a circle shear. This one cost about $100 including the HF bead roller. If I had to do it again, I'd buy the smaller of the two models. Beware of the set screws that come with the HF roller-- they are junk.
I put tiny marks at 90 degrees on the side of the top white disk. It helps line up the square if it has a pencil X in the middle. I haven't tried heavier metal, but guess it will do 18 gauge which is all I need.
Make sure the white disks are slightly concave if possible -- they will grip much better.
Nicely done :) The point about being centered to the beginning of the cut is an interesting one. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have thought of that until far too late. On the project list it goes o/
That's awesome! It's on my to-do list now...
Very nice. How thick of sheet will this cut?
Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the video, its a great idea. How has it held up? Have you made any modifications since you have been using it? I need a circle shear to make about 200 copper disks to spin, and this looks like the answer. I checked with Harbor Freight and they only have one model now, and its $179 but still a lot cheaper than a professional cutter.
Thanks again.
