Yep. It's interesting to see these early 2000s commercials now than most of them are created by some of the most vapid, inexperienced, superficial agenda-pushing people the western world has to offer. Not that it wasn't the case at this time but now it's just plain bad.
Jim, Patrice, Greg and Nick really kept this show going. Others have a few moments, but it was those 4 that were the long distance comics for this show.

I completely agree. This content was free for me to view and I should just accept it for what it is. If I watch 1999 other videos uploaded by folks kind enough to edit out commercials, I should not expect #2000 to do the same. Your vulgarity lets me know how sincere you truly are and how wrong I was. I have not uploaded any Tough Crowd videos. But, I can tell you that when I do, I will make sure not to edit it in any way, shape, or form that will enhance the viewing experience. You have my word.

Patrice O Neal, my god that man was brilliant. I was letting my son watch his take on racism and white/black girls gone missing, and it was very funny, but I wanted my son to get the POINT of what he was saying. Patrice is a rare comic who makes you laugh and then makes you sad that you're laughing because what he says is very sad, very true, but very sad. GG also a hilarious comic. For god's sake, make sure someone keeps Louis C.K. safe!

If you look at my previous comment, I believe you will see that I said "sincere" which is an antonym (opposite) of "insincere". My point was merely some constructive criticism for this user to cut out the commercials. I think you will see that this was a running theme throughout my previous posts, though this may be tough considering half of your comments have been taken down.

What's funny is this show was on a year or 2 before Dane blew up and became a huge superstar between 04-07.. All the other comics knew he was the next to become a megastar so they used to just trash the hell out of him.. They did the same thing with Kevin Hart..

it got good ratings stupid. Neon Mullet is correct. Viacom pushed to have Colbert paired with the Daily Show. The honesty of discussion that happened on this show embarrassed a lot of people at Comedy Central front office. That sounds like a conspiracy to me.
Was this show canceled, because it wasn't leaning to the Left enough? Unlike most roundtable comedy discussion shows, this seemed to not have a hidden agenda to the Left or Right. Watching Comedy Central now is very Leftist. I'm middle of the road, politically, btw.
Truth be told, the ratings started to drop because you couldn't get the 4 main characters on the show (Giraldo, Norton, Patrice and DiPaolo). They were really the show and for the overwhelming most part, the comedians that were on the show that weren't them...sucked. Those 4 started to get far more gigs and couldn't be on the show. And it was a difficult show to do since there's a ton of writing involved to keep things fresh. The other part was that Tough Crowd was replaced by the Daily Show which did excellent ratings. Eventually they put in The Colbert Show...and regardless of what you think of Colbert...his show did well in the ratings, too. I'm sure there were plenty of people at Comedy Central that were nervous about the show's comedy and how it would affect advertising. But, the ratings declined and IIRC, Colin talked about some of the ways that Norton and Patrice behaved to the Comedy Central big-wigs when he was trying to get the show extended and get more money and they really sabotaged it. I think Tough Crowd could EASILY work again today. But, the issues are that as the star comedians become more popular they will be on the show less and less and that will hurt its future. You would really need to get 4 comedians and a host that get paid handsomely enough to stay on the show.
