The CRUMB tray !!! I had no idea and my mom came over- she started cleaning my kitchen and well she pulled the tray out and bam 💥 a lot of crumbs she said “you won’t have to worry in time or crisis, you can make your own loaf 🍞 with all these crumbs” 😅😅❤
Even with the crumb trays clean, bits of burnt toast can hide in the crevices of the toaster… some are too big to slide out with the crumb tray. So a flip, tap and shake over the kitchen sink is needed.
You can get these straight brushes that are small enough to get any left over toast dust off. The brand I have is minky. I don't know what it's original purpose isv😅
The crumb tray isn't really a hack it's a literal function of the toaster. That's like having a fridge and saying "use this hack to make ice- fill the water tank with water and wait 8 hours and there will be ice in this drawer in your freezer!" It's not an ice hack it's just something the appliance does 😂
You don't need Dawn for your blender. I was taught to wash a blender that way with Ivory dish soap in the 90s. The process hasn't changed. If you like Dawn, cool, otherwise, meh.
Which blender is that? Does it work well with harder foods? Also, don't put the crumbs down the drain if you don't have a garbage disposal or have a septic tank (undigested food messes up the good bacteria the help break everything down).
You still need to flip it upside down. We were so over cleaning out our toaster, we just tossed it out. We haven't gotten one since. That was 10 or more years ago
My partner took apart our toaster and the amount of bread comes that come out of thing just shows how much the tray doesn't collect! If you know someone who knows how to take apart a toaster and put it back together you should definitely try it but if not then shaking it upside down is definitely a must cause those trays don't collect as much crumbs as you think!
I looked all over for my crumb tray on my toaster and just became convinced it didn’t have one. Then one day it stopped working and after looking it over I saw a little slot that was poking out. It was spring loaded and must have gotten jostled in our recent move activating the spring. Obviously I didn’t read the manual and the only thing written on the toaster was a tiny little symbol, still not sure how I missed it. Once I pushed it back in (after dumping the tray out for the first time in eight years) the toaster started working again.
My jaw dropped by the end of this video. I just cleaned my crumb tray and there was so many crumbs. Before you do that though, unplug your toaster. It said to do that before cleaning
The thing is, that blender is as you said rinsed not washed, those blender specifically (I have one that’s exactly the same) have tons of books and crannies you can only reach and clan properly with brushes like the inside of the blade rod, it may seem clean but I can assure you that’s not washed. Get in there with a sponge/ brush and actually wash it because there’s so much material that’s left to build up when you just rinse off something, genuinely I’m disappointed and kinda disgusted and I’m 18, how are you a full grown adult that doesn’t actually wash your own dishes
I actually knew the one about the toaster, we have an island that we plug our toaster into, and I can see the back so I used to pull it out all the time.
I clean my toaster tray, but how do I clean the inside of it? There are stuck on crumbs from I don’t know how many years ago that need a good scrub, but I’m scared to put water in there. 🫣
Maybe brush the crumbs off gently with a long, narrow artist’s brush with stiff bristles, removing the loosened crumbs with canned air and a small vacuum.
you’re not putting anything perishable in it and there’s not enough moisture for it to get moldy. it’s essentially just charcoal, it’s fine. if you’re worried about fire hazard give it a good smack and shake upside down over the sink every once in a while
Why do people keep calling dinner knives “butter knives”. Butter knives are little knives that go on the bread plate at formal dinners. They are even shaped differently.
That's so weird, I knew someone who washed their blender like this looked spotless but had an odd smell and when I unscrewed the base it was moldy around the gasket. I've always taken mine apart to clean.
Lol, I just flipped my toaster, knowing it has crumb trays. The blender cleaning hack is genius.
Not a 'hack.' In the instructions that comes with the blender, it says to run it with a drop of dish washing soap, and water after using. Easy peasy.
@@smallfootprint2961 it’s a hack whether you’re told to do it or not. a trick to do a job easier than the traditional way.. still a hack
@@laurelkendunbut... the traditional way to clean a blender is to run it with soapy water? So a hack would be something else
@lulukdydun9131 I agree, it's a hack! Scrubbing it with soap and water is what I did until I found this hack. 😅
I think it’s for safety reasons the manual suggests to clean it this way. And it’s easier.
Even with the crumb tray, it wouldn't hurt to shake out your toaster every now and again
Thats what i was thinking, they stick to thebsides sometimes.
Agreed
Especially if you like everything bagels 😅 speaking from experience

LOLLL😭
Your mom is a gem! 😂

Dang momma is a savage
I find that the Dawn spray leaves a chemical odor when used on plastic.
INTERESTING!! I noticed with regular dawn it leaves that scent on my hands no matter how much I rinse!!
Just put some water and a little bit of dish soap
You can use vingear and hot water, that works too (vinegar smells in the air but goes away very quickly)
A bamboo skewer also works really well on the teeny tiny cracks
The blender cleaning is how the manual tells you too. However, you can remove the blade to visually check that it's clean.
The blender cleaning one was actually in the manual of every single blender I've ever owned lol
Don't think I've ever read a blender manual in my life hahah 😂

Didn't she say that it's not a hack? LISTEN
Great tips!
I only new the toaster one cuz Garfield goes to town on that bad boy when Jon puts him on a diet
You don't need Dawn for your blender. I was taught to wash a blender that way with Ivory dish soap in the 90s. The process hasn't changed. If you like Dawn, cool, otherwise, meh.
You're also supposed to use a dry brush to get all the stuff off the bread cage part I use a flat bottle brush meant for coffee pots
Love the blender idea w/ the spray! Thanks!
Which blender is that? Does it work well with harder foods? Also, don't put the crumbs down the drain if you don't have a garbage disposal or have a septic tank (undigested food messes up the good bacteria the help break everything down).
Looks like a ninja blender
You do want to turn it upside down also cause it gets all the stuff that fell to the bottom or gets stuck on the springs
great tips thanks 😊
I have the same blender. I just rinse it out right away and wash it like a normal dish
It also come apart and the pieces fit in a dishwasher
It's very surprising to me that people don't know about crumb trays in the toaster 😊
You still need to flip it upside down. We were so over cleaning out our toaster, we just tossed it out. We haven't gotten one since. That was 10 or more years ago
Donating to a second hand store is even better.
Toaster ovens are a thousand times better
Yes most definitely shake out the toaster as well as removing the trays! Always monitor the inside for stuck pieces or build up !
Wow! I just found out my crumb tray has a toaster on top of it 🤯
😂😂 this needs more likes
This tickled me 😂
When I tell you I RAN to my toaster omg
I do the tray cleaning everyday but still shake it upside down as there are little crumbs in that as well 🥰just a heads up
I cleaned out the toaster like you just did at a beach house we stayed at and they were FULL!!
My partner took apart our toaster and the amount of bread comes that come out of thing just shows how much the tray doesn't collect! I’ve been doing the butter knife trick for years. Great tip
I recommend using a wooden kebab stick to get in those corners. Its more precise

woah great tips thank u
Take out the crumb trays THEN turn it upside down. You will be surprised how much comes out. Then clean crumb trays replace and enjoy the clean.
Oh my god seriously?? She posted this??? Wow!! Even if you use the power wash, you still have to clean after...🤦🏼♀
No you don't, it comes out perfectly clean with any dish soap
Thank You 🙏🏽
Blender should be washed immediately after using call me crazy
But how do I get the crumbs out the top part
I want one of those grass drain pads.
My jaw dropped by the end of this video. I just cleaned my crumb tray and there was so many crumbs. Before you do that though, unplug your toaster. It said to do that before cleaning
I did the blender hack and the lid got ejected and water was everywhere (including the Celing)
Did you fill up to the top? You probably didn't leave enough room for the bubbles/foam
My old toaster had the crumb tray on the front and labelled, so I've known about the crumb tray forever 😅
compressed air is your friend if you have a neglected toster, remove the crumb tray and blast away
I tried that blender hack and it turned out that the gasket ring was crumpled, so i could've disassemble the blender for a long time.
actually you should flip your roster to get crumbs out and also clean trays. 🙄
My toaster's crumb tray pivots on the bottom of the toaster (does not pull out). Requiring pick up and shake that thang.
I take out the crumb tray, shake it, then hit it with the compressor! Lol I can’t stand the smell of burning bread though 😂
The thing is, that blender is as you said rinsed not washed, those blender specifically (I have one that’s exactly the same) have tons of books and crannies you can only reach and clan properly with brushes like the inside of the blade rod, it may seem clean but I can assure you that’s not washed. You need to use a little bit of dish soap, then you rinse it and it comes out perfectly clean. But you have to do it immediately after using it
Some toasters have a little door or plate like thingy that comes open on the bottom to remove crumbs rather than a tray.
Blending soap and water in blender I never thought of that!!!
I really don’t know the toaster trays! Thank you
Yupp the toaster thing flip upside down and shake.....seen some cooking shows with some yuckies in their lol
I actually knew the one about the toaster, we have an island that we plug our toaster into, and I can see the back so I used to pull it out all the time.

Water will ruin it 😅 but i don't know how you should clean it, mine is crumby too
Maybe brush the crumbs off gently with a long, narrow artist’s brush with stiff bristles, removing the loosened crumbs with canned air and a small vacuum.
Not water inside or it’s will break.
But make sure you unplug it before poking around inside.
Just don’t snap the heating wires which brown the toast.
you’re not putting anything perishable in it and there’s not enough moisture for it to get moldy. it’s essentially just charcoal, it’s fine. if you’re worried about fire hazard give it a good smack and shake upside down over the sink every once in a while
The cheap toaster I have doesn’t have a crumb tray. Some have to be dumped out.
Am I the only one who ran to the toaster to see if it's true i never knew this 😂
Ya should really flip it still you would be surprised what gets stuck within the slots inside.
When I worked for Century21 I got called back to a house because I forgot to clean the crumb tray. I didn’t even know you could.
Paint brush works better than the trouble of cloth and knife.
I do blender cleaning hack all time
those were solid.
nice tops!!
If I go down and check my toaster at the back and it has a crumb tray I will be livid.
Darn, my toaster has a crumb tray. I better go look.
My toaster dose not have that but okay
Yup I clean proper
Last time I shook my toaster. I broke it. 😮. I didn’t even shake it that much I swear. No more.
Oh my god, the microfiber knife?? I’ll never go back
The older toasters do not have crumb trays.
How old are you talking?
I’m retired and any toaster since I was little that I have seen has had crumb trays.
@@marlenegold280right? The one we had as kids , the crumb tray was hinged and every time you picked it up it opened and flapped around 😂😊😅
How old? The 1938 patent for the electric toaster shows a crumb flap/tray
My toaster has crumb trays... flipping it better
I do all of these things on my own for years. Yep time for me to become a content creator 😂
Checked ✔️ and I'm missing a crump tray
In sorry, but air-borne chemicals have always been bad right? Why do people use spray soap then????
My toaster have what 😦😦😦😦 ohhhhh
A gasped at the blender hack
I just chuck my blender cup and lid into the dishwaher
My toaster ain't have no crumb tray
Ty
Why did you put the crumbs in your sink 🤢
finally a real life hack video where no underwear gets turned into bikini top or advertising of any specific amazon product
The blender one isn't a hack, the instruction book tells you to do it.
Please empty the crumb tray into the trash and not your kitchen pipes
Wait...people don't know that last one?
Stop I haven't cleaned my toaster in literally months because I have no idea how to
With mine you still have to flipp.
She did not throw the crumbs in her sink 😅
Let me see the tray
They showed us.
Toasters have crumb tray!?
Nice
Is not a hack if it's in the instructions that you don't read.
Why do people keep calling dinner knives “butter knives”. Butter knives are little knives that go on the bread plate at formal dinners. They are even shaped differently.
who tosses their toast crumbs down the drain, what??
BUT ACTUALLY WASH YOUR BLENDERS. DON’T BE NASTY.
The Vitamix instructions to s said the blade was was dangerously sharp, and it shouldn't be dishwashed, so blending was the ONLY way to clean it.
That's so weird, I knew someone who washed their blender like this looked spotless but had an odd smell and when I unscrewed the base it was moldy around the gasket.
I've always taken mine apart to clean.
It's not any different than putting it in the dishwasher. Just because you don't use a brush doesn't mean it's not getting cleaned
If you’re reading this have a great day and YOU WILL STILL NEED TO FLIP YOUR TOASTER AFTER EMPTYING THE CRUMB TRAYS! You’re welcome!
These are not hacks geez😂😂😂
Why do the Americans always using chemicals we Germans don’t do that
❤🎉🎉😢😅😊
Im 24 years old! I HAD NO IDEA THERE WAS A CRUB TRAY ON A TOASTER ....🤬🫨🫨😲😲
