Slabbing...the bar got moved alot higher for me personally. 150 base value for me to consider slabbing. Now...I don't want to even bother with sending to slab. I trust myself more than CGC at the moment. Cbcs may see some in the future...but a slabbing is officially over for me
For me, slabbing needs to be a book worth $300+. Or CGC signature/sketch of an artist I really admire. People slab anything nowadays. Ebay is flooded with slabbed books worth under $75. Like it makes no sense. You're breaking even after slab fees and ebay fees.
No right way to collect or not collect, if someone wants to send in a $2 book, how you have any say in that dude? they have every right to do so, and nobody, not even a nerd, can tell them different to do what they want to do with their own books, that's HOW THEY LEARN!! By doing it the hard way. Anyone can use the service if they want, so ok, not everyone is so smart, let's help them and educate them, rather then chastising them!
@@RegieCollects first, i have waaay too many comics to slab and not make it financially viable. I don't really see the point in "increasing the value" of a comic that i don't have any intention of selling anytime soon. As you've said, Mylar is fine. With all of the shennigans going on with CGC I'd rather not slab any books I really don't have to. Right now I'm focusing on slabbing books for sale so i can buy bigger keys.
Hey Regie, I really value your opinions because you brought me back into comics in 2018 and have followed you since. With all the CGC news coming out, are they your first option now? The first video I watched of yours, was you talking about CGC and I've only dealt with them. Now I'm not so sure...
@@RegieCollects looks like past few sales average around $150 at that VF+ condition but I'm pretty sure if I can get a good press it can bump up to VF+NM those average around $300. What I can't find is the press run for the first print. I'm assuming they were printed at 500 to 1000 for that first print but I'm just guessing
@@RegieCollects It’s slightly under 10% if you include Universal (blue), Signature Series (yellow), and one restored copy (purple): 59 out of 597. It is almost 11% if you only count the Universal labels: 59 out of 539.
I don’t. 😂 I have always suggested that people should look at what they are trying to accomplish with their collections and the services that they need…to arrive at which grading company best aligns. CBCS, EGS, PGX, CGC, Halo are all options. Additionally not grading and using poly, Mylar and/or a top loader are also viable options. Heck, Comic Skins and Gator Guard are also options.

Everyone has a different threshold and standard for their collection. Thanks for sharing yours.

Always great information
Great advice, Regie! I’ve been investing in my Mirage TMNT volume 1 collection. Boosting the value and enjoying the journey is a fun hobby these days.
Boom! That’s a great run to invest in. Well done and good luck!!
Great Info Reggie. I've been investing in my Star Wars The High Republic collection
Boom, there are some solid books and awesome covers in that run! Good luck bro.
GREAT INFO TY REGIE
Another great one ☝️
Personally, right now I'm only slabbing books that I intend to sell immediately. Any keys that I have that I'm keeping long term are staying raw.
Interesting. Why not the opposite? Just curious as to the thinking/rationale.
I agree! I’m tired of spending
Huh? You’re spending to grade. 🤷🏾♂️🤣

Got it. So you are still using CGC and have not seen any impact on your ability to sell books graded by them. That helps. 👊🏾
Can't go wrong with sub 100 ASM!

What do people buy more single issues or paperbacks?
Unfortunately, we have not had any sales data in a few years to really answer this question but generally speaking: single issues.
Keep it real Reggie let them know to advoid CGC.
For me a book needs to be worth atleast 100 raw…
I have a very nice Johnny Homicidal Maniac raw that looks like a VF+ Do you think it's worth grading even though it's not a 9.8??
What’s the value at VF+?

Seems like a decent investment into one’s collection.
Crazy unrelated fact: More than 10% of CGC graded 9.8 copies of Amazing Spider-Man #194 have been in the hands of the reholder scammer.
Blue label or all labels?

F slabs
Tell us how you really feel. 😂🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Have a good day bro 👊🏾👏🏾
I don't trust CGC
Then you should not use them. Thankfully there are multiple companies to go with.
@@RegieCollects which do you recommend?
