Thank you for this great video. The only thing you didn‘t check is the tank itself and it‘s internal conductor paths. The fault „short circuit to ground“ is due to corrosion (why the heck, it’s completely sealed) inside the 8 pin connector that drives the motor. Scr module detects that to much current is drawn and protects itself by shutting down the motor. That‘s why changing the motor or the internal board doesn‘t help but replacing the whole tank does. If you bypass the tanks connector and wire up the motor directly it works flawlessly. I‘ve done it today.

Hi, nice video. Regarding the parts from the pressure sensor (the two springs with a membrane), I believe it is an accumulator. Its purpose is to reduce fluctuations in liquid pressure for a more accurate pressure reading and protection of the pressure sensor itself.
Very instructive tutorial. I had the following error on my G31: 80527A. It appeared when it was very cold outside and disappeared by itself just recently. Seeing this video, I have a better understanding of how this system works, but I can't explain what was wrong on my car and how to avoid it in the future. It is quite a common problem with G30/G31 from what I noticed, and I would appreciate it if you can explain what could cause it.
I am struggling with the same problem. 80527A: Active tank SENT signal (filling level, temperature, quality), communication: fault. This is what I found in the functional description of the SCR system: The SCR control unit is connected to the SCR delivery module by 2 SENT interfaces. The sensor signals are also transferred by means of SENT signals. So I have a small hope that the problem is not in the tank, but in the wiring between the SCR active tank and SCR ECU. Have you solved it?
@ponasadomas80 I checked the wiring, and all was fine in there. Finally, I replaced the active SCR tank. I found one on ebay for ~200€ and did the job myself. That was a fairly simple job.
@zhqiu1597 it is a mechanical job, can be done in garage. I did it even on the street) BMW manual stipulates that you should reset adaptations of SCR system after replacing the tank. I decided not to do that, and the system works as is already several months. What you need to do for sure it to delete the error codes after you install the new part. I'd say you better set up a laptop before trying to do any job with a modern bmw.
Had similar problem with my g30. Communication error with active tank (filling level, temperature, quality). I guess this module failed for some reason.
Thank yuo for this material. You are perfect engineer. In my opinion reason of failure is between socket cable and socket pump. I ve disasemmbled my pump (same system Continental is in Mercedes w213) and after removing pump there is impedance betweeen each pins. It is 20-60kOhm. In my opinion when pump is removed there should be open circuit between pins or very high impedance like few MOhm, but there is electrical way between pins. That is readen by Adblue driver inside car like a short circuit. Do you have this parts and could measure impedance/resistance bestween pins of 8 pins socket?
You are right. I had the same fault and measured 22kOhms. Replaced the motor, pressure sensor and electronic board from a used thank, but all this did not solve it. PumpMotor turned half a turn and shut off due to overcurrent. Then whent all in and cut open the connector to see that the inner conductor paths where oxydized. Cut out the oxydized section and replaced with wires by soldering, a very fiddly action when the tank is still in the car. JB Welded everything back together and now works like a charm. 1500€ saved. But you need a scan tool (like BMW ITSA-😅) to initialize the delivery module and test itself before beeing able to reset the fault code.
I tried to repair these boards on different brands - the problem is in the connections between different layers on the board and this cannot be repaired unfortunately.
Perhaps the internal filter was so heavily crystallized and the pressure differential across the membrane was too high. I’m sure that was an expensive repair .

I always enjoy indepth tearing things apart. It shows the high level of engineering 👍
Thanks for bringing us along.

I am just so happy my 2013 E70 doesn't have this system 😊

Brilliant as usual.

This is a very great and informative video, thank you very much. Very Interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Exista optiunea de a achimba senzorul de nivel intr-un rezervor de AdBlue la un F10 525Xd ?
