A master of it, isnt he? But If i have to choose among russian composers, I prefer Mussorgsky over him(you must listen to him, a genius composer). Just personal tastes. Also, I recommend You Lysenko - a great Ukrainian composer, and Chopin - who havent heard of him, awesome Polish composer. But my favourite one is Strauss and his father. c:
You know, most of this piece... I could honestly take it or leave it. I don't find it Tchaikovsky's most inspired work. But that soaring melody at 0:57... I am just madly in love with that tune.
I absolutely agree for the melody at 0:57, but I don't agree at all that the piece is not inspired! It's absolutely gorgeous and fantastic! Thank you my dear Tchaikovvsky for this perfect music that makes everyone infinitely happy! 💘 💘 💘 😃😊🙂
@@anthonyghazi774 he was most definitely a Russian composer, but his ancestry from the father's side goes back to a very old family of Ukranian cossacks. "Tchaikovsky" is a more russian-like sounding version of his old family name that his great grandfather choose after becoming the noble of the Russian Empire.
Ancestry of Tchaikovsky is an open data, shan’t you believe the teenage dilettantes spreading their senseless «thoughts”, corrupting the social media with idioticy. There is no such thing as “ukrainian” cossack. For the cossack hetmanate was a militarised Russian diaspora state, under the protectorate of Russia. Ukraine in itself means “borderland”, and had been first used to describe the western borderland of the principalities of Kievan Rus’.
I'm glad you've all been enjoying the music..
Cossack dance, Mazepa, Battle of Poltava 1709. He really touched on Ukrainian themes with his music

Magnificent orchestration, composed brilliantly for this dance, much as was the case in all the ballet works
I love this piece, but never knew its name and have been hunting it down like crazy. Thanks so much for posting this!

Really ukrainian spirit of music and energy! He was a true Ukrainian in his soul (his origin is Ukrainian Cossack (Tchaika)). Thanks!
