- Tibet's Stolen Child is a 60 minute documentary about China's kidnapping and imprisonment of a 6 year old religious figure from Tibet. Six Nobel Peace laureates (the Dalai Lama, 1998 recipient John Hume, Mairead Maguire, Jose Ramos-Horta, Desmond Tutu, and Elie Wiesel) and other moral and religious leaders from around the world examine this abduction. They share their own experience of intolerance and draw similarities to the current situation in Tibet. They discuss what happens when governments use persecution as a weapon. Set withing a framework of the rights of children, comparative religion, social justice and peace studies; Tibet's Stolen Child poses questions of basic humanity and its place within a world dominated by politics and economics.

Funny how our world works. We can send a man to the moon but we can not free a child. It becomes an issue of the world the political leaders should do what is right. Free this young man now ..so he can help lead his people and maybe teach us all compassion. My prayers go to the Tibetans.

By the way, the one you though as Panchen lama is not Panchen lama. Here's a few historical incidents you might need to understand (I have no problem with Dalai Lama):
Since 1923, 13th Dalai Lama blocked 9th Panchen Lama from all Tibetan affairs and enjailed all Panchen's officials, which resulted in *9th Panchen Lama* fled to Inner Mongolia under the Chinese Nationalist Goverment until his death.
From 1941 to 1951, when the _Panchen Nangmagang_ (པཎ་ཆེན་ནང་མ་སྒང) recognized the *10th Panchen Lama* and appointed 13th Gyayag Rinpoche as his teacher, the regent of the current Dalai Lama, 3rd Taktrak, rejected 10th Panchen as the true Panchen lama and pointed two boys in Lhasa as their candidates of "Panchen lama". 10th Panchen was not allowed to enter Tibet until 1951 when the Seventeenth Point Agreement signed. One of the utmost goal was to urge the Kashag side to allow the exiling Panchen lama be back to Shigatse.
Now it turns to the *11th Panchen Lama,* the old trick once again affected him. *How come can one point an innocent boy, Gêndün Qögyi Nyima, as the "11th Panchen Lama" and harass him every year in the name of "freeing him", giving that one's unwillingness to recognize the 10th Panchen Lama?!*
We won't care if you don't want to recognize Choekyi Gyalpo as the 11th Panchen Lama, but if you don't believe in the 10th and 11th Panchen Lama, go straight looking for the two boys born in Lhasa in 1938 and PLEASE stop harassing Gêndün Qögyi Nyima, since that's *too low.*

Neither His Holiness the Panchen Lama nor his parents are said to want any special treatment or recognition for him at all. They are all watched and spied on constantly. So of course they must say that. Don't be silly. Many people can recognize the Panchen Lama. We knew him. We know him. That bond is never broken. It has been fifty years now, so it is possible that the parents of that time have passed away.

We were born equally. No one should be born as a higher leader than anyone else. The Pope is elected, why Buddist Lama could be appointed. That is not the democracy. On the other hand, if the boy would like to be a scientist, a doctor, a singer or a farmer when he grows up, could he refuse to be a monk? Does the boy have the right to be a Christian, Muslim or follow other religion? Could the boy fall in love and marry another girl and have children like you, but which are not allowed as a Lama?
jianchihuking Actually some Lamas did this, they got married or are leading a "normal" life. Some still do teach about Buddhism(they just gave their monastic vows away). The 10th panchen lama was also married and has a daughter.

I assume you a follower of the 14th Dalai Lama. However, I hope you know that the Dalai Lama-side spokesman Kelsang Gyaltsen also said Gyalpo "is also a kid of great prajña" although he thought Gêndün to be the correct Panchen Lama. So by calling Gyalpo a "shill" you were not only insulting the Tibetan community in China, but also the Tibetan community in exile.
Till now you have not formally posed any objection to any details I listed in my original comment. If you have, feel free to post them. I've never mind any objection, and am happy to listen and reply those, but I do not like to reply barks, which doesn't make sense.

Yet that's exactly the reason why the CCP should apply the Golden Urn, as the Golden Urn since its birth is used to prevent anyone to manipulate the reincarnation result for their business. Applying the Golden Urn helps the selection process free from any feudal power and makes religious thing purely religious, and was one of the last words of 10th Panchen Lama.
As of 1990s, the CCP has 100% control of Tibet except for Tawang and South Tibet, thus unless one of the candidate is from Tawang or South Tibet (which was not the case in1990), whatever result does not at all matter with CCP interest as their future education would all be done in Tibet. That's why the business-free CCP was the most trustworthy one to oversee the entire Golden Urn ceremony.
