Thx, I love it when the KJV gets it right. Apparently other bible translators thought that there was a problem with "all evil" and tried to bail out God with "all kinds of evil". God does not need our help.
In all fairness I did some searching on the phrase "by the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled thee in the midst with violence" as it relates to Lucifers sin and expulsion from heaven, and I think the following explanation makes sense: In summary, "by the multitude of thy merchandise" in the context of Lucifer's sin and expulsion from heaven symbolizes his excessive ambition, greed, and pride. It reflects how his desire for more power and glory led to inner corruption and ultimately to violent rebellion against God. This metaphor underscores the moral and spiritual dangers of unchecked ambition and serves as an explanation for the divine judgment and expulsion that followed. Modern evangelical commentators interpret this phrase as indicative of the excessive ambition and desire for power that corrupted Lucifer, resulting in his rebellion and subsequent expulsion from heaven. That being said it also should be viewed in light of verse 17 where Satan's beauty lifted up his heart (pride) and his brightness corrupted his wisdom to then want to be as God and use all the riches and wisdom God gave him for his own ultimate benefit, even if it meant having to become violent to fight with God for Lucifer to put himself in that position. I think that makes sense where there is no contradictions in the scriptures in question when viewed that way.
I knew people would say that and the ONLY reason they say that is because of the Christian tradition of saying it was pride. There is no mention of pride and sin together in any verse in the bible whereas there are probably half a dozen scriptures that CLEARLY say that it was merchandise and traffic. It is very hard to repent of wrong thinking and tradition. Very hard.
You are ignoring verse 17 for some reason. Because of his beauty Lucifers heart was lifted up. That might not say "in pride" but that is exactly what that means., especially in the context of what is said in verse 17.
Mike, you are a pretty thick reasoning person. Let me get this right... Isaiah 14 has nothing to do with pride... 1 Timothy 6:10 says, " The root or the beginning of all evil began with the Love of money.... Verses 16 and 18 slap you right in the face with the real reason Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven and you want to stick with your pride and insist that something that mentions no sin and doesn't even say pride is the real reason? Talk about pride and tradition... Your the type of person that Jesus had so much trouble with...
Read this carefully... 5 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. Verse 17 is one of the reasons, but verse 16 is pretty clear and verse 18 is even clearer. There is no mention of sin in verse 17 whereas verses 16 and verse 18 mention sin. Hard to deny that. And what about The Love on money? Is that wrong also? Jesus had so much trouble with people who hold onto tradition and not truth.
@@bobwunderlich2212 I understand what you are saying. And I agree with what you are saying about verses 15-16. I thought you were ignoring or minimizing verse 17 in your interpretation of Lucifer’s fall. Pride is bad. The love of money is bad as well. Let not pride nor the love of money be in us. Let us walk in love and speak the truth in love while we are patiently waiting for our Lord’s soon return.
Pastor Bob is wrong, because pride is the root cause of Satan's sin. Pastor Bob reads Ezekiel 28:15-16, but he does not read the next verse, verse 17. Here is Ezekiel 28 verse 17 "Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee." There is the pride. That was why Lucifer sinned. His heart was lifted up because of his beauty. His brightness corrupted his wisdom, and he thus wanted to be as God. Interesting Pastor Bob convniently left verse 17 out. Read verse 17 for yourself and then you decide if the underlying motivation for Lucifer that caused him to sin by wanting to be as God is pride. Then read Isaiah 14:12-15. It tells of what Lucifer did to sin and thus be cast out of heaven. It was his pride that resulted from his being perfect in beauty and his having glorious brightness that corrupted his wisdom to then say in his heart that he will be as God in verses 13-14. Ezekiel 28:17 is the key to why Lucifer sinned, not verse 16. Ask Pastor Bob what "By the multitude of they merchandise" means considering he says that phrase tells how Lucifer sinned to be then cast out of heaven?
First of all I am not a Pastor. I've read verse 17 dozens of times. There is not word mentioned in your verses that use the word SIN or inequity. Yet you purposely disregard all of the other verses that CLEARLY mention SIN and INEQUITY. WHY? Because of tradition.
With all due respect Mike, none of us can claim to have figured it all out. I will never tell a brother in Christ he is wrong unless it deals with salvation and they teaching an obvious heresy. But these matters are purposefully made confusing and open to several interpretations. We all love our King Jesus Christ and we soon will be forming ranks together to fight for one cause. Bro Bob is merely offering his interpretation and we should be thankful for his excitement in seeking Truth. I am happy you too are seeking, it’s a great thing. Lord knows we are a minority in a demonic world.
@@mikebaerdc alright my brother, you get it. I guarantee I have things interpreted incorrectly and that’s ok as long as it is not heresy, salvation, or false doctrine. Like I said, I imagine Jesus Christ gathers all his church in the auditorium and discuss what you got right and what was wrong. I see this in a fun light with us razzing each other and Jesus making funny comments too. Let’s face it, Jesus and God do have a sense of humor sometimes and I say that with reverend regard. God bless you bro.
Once again, “pastors” are wrong. Great video, brother Bob. YAUH bless you and your family.
