Stryker 655HP. Good radio tuning vs bad radio tuning. Does your cb shop know what they are doing??

  • Comparison of two Stryker 655 hp’s I own. One was tuned by roadstar188, the other tuned by Lou’s Cb in Bridgewater Ma. Red radio is the roadstar Unit, dirty and noisy. Purple radio is Lou’s. The Lou radio is pushing 50 watt dead key with up to a 90 watt swing. Personally watched him run on the meters. Both radios are using fire stick 5 footers. You listen and decide...

I had a old cobra 148gtl tuned up by him and have been enjoying it. I'm struggling trying to talk myself out of getting that same radio you have or the anytone 6666. Keep posting the videos I've subscibed and enjoy the content.

I have bought two radios from Lou! Today 3/19/19 I picked up the SR-655HP!! He is the man no doubt. The 1st one was a cobra lcd29. Both are great radioes, but the SR-655 is better. He told me about your video...

Lou seems to know his stuff. It sounds good. I got mine from MC Electronics in Grand Island and loving it. Sounds just like Lou's. I don't get over to the east at all, but will keep Lou in Bridgewater MA in mind if I need some stuff done and happen to be in the area!

Different 🎙 going to make a difference. I run a 655 with a ranger 🎙 big difference in sound. I also run a Stryker antenna in my semi and a 102 whip in my pickup. My SWR is 1:2 on all channels in my semi and 1:1 in my pickup

I have a rk56 and on my sr447hpc2 have to have my external speaker across the cab and wrapped in two micro fiber towels to keep the feedback from bleeding through! Mic is about 14 yrs old and kept in my garage for a while! Thinking of buying a new one to see if that helps with feedback

Yeah, those strykers are very well receiving and low noise floor radios.
I couldn't believe the trash that you were receiving with that miss tuned radio.
I can't believe somebody would go in there and fool with the receive in that styker. Whenever I buy a stryker, I tell the tech to not screw with my receive.

One of the radio guys that does tuning etc. on radios and he says that out of the box they can vary in power by quite a bit. So I wouldn't be surprised if the radio you had wasn't misaligned or out of tune but I guess that's why you pay someone to tune what they can. Thanks for the video I hope everything goes well for you. Maybe send that old one to Lou for a check-up?

that does sound like good clear output but as far as the ground floor noise it sounded to me like the auto squelch was turned on the second radio. that would explain why there is absolutely no aref ground-floor noise. I'm not trying to say I'm correct and that you were wrong or anything like that I'm just saying what it sounded like to me. mine sounds the same way when the auto squelch is on

Here's the problem I have with your demonstration between the 2 radio's. Your not showing that your using the same external speaker. The quality of sound might be different because of that. And for the background noise coming out. You could've adjusted that to clear it up in the other radio. You also have the radios in 2 different trucks. The antan system and setup are different from one truck to the other. I have this exact same radio.
This is only my opinion. I don't know you or even the other people you were talking about in this video.

Same antennas mounted in same place with same cables. And yes one radio was tuned differently this is the reason for posting the video. To show a good tuned radio vs one that isn’t tuned well. Congrats you have now wasted both of our times with this stupidity

The reason the radio sounds better is because you have your echo board switch turned on in the stryker from lou and that other cb you had the echo turned off and echo know turned down... not trying to pick a fight or call you out I'm just saying the reason that radio sounds better is because your echo is turned on and the other radio it isn't

@@claytonhenning1575 also doesn't say anything about the RF gain being the same either. I've got a 955, and it will sound the same as both of those on the incoming depending on the weather and how much I have the RF gain turned up.

I thankfully have a local cb tech who tunes radios to TALK GOOD rather than have the most watts. I just bought a new galaxy 959 from him that talks crystal clear clean 👍. 32w pep and 16w bird average ( which is fantastic avg power for single final radio!). I get constant compliments on how loud and crystal clear it is. I couldn't be happier!
When I watch road star videos it's pretty clear he's a turn the power up at the expense of clear audio. Many of them are that.
My local guy is Truckscbsales.com. he's in Glasgow Kentucky. He has a good web site and answers any question you have and quickly. The local base station guys around here also have nothing but good things to say about him. So if your favorite guy is busy or something and you need another one you can trust give trucks cb sales a holler 👍😎. I don't buy from anybody else . He has UA-cam channel too showing all his work.
