The Hands of Sligo - Memories of the War

The latest Hands of Sligo. This lady is 92 and the youngest of 20 children! She told me I was 'talking to history' when I met her. Turn up the volume to hear her memories of growing up when the war started - rationing, adding grated carrots to tea to make it go further, making sheets from flour sacks, and even sending a turkey to England!
The ‘Hands of Sligo Project’ is part of the Creativity in Older Age project run by Sligo County Council, Healthy Sligo, supported by the Creative Ireland Fund 2023.
