I host January, February, and March in a Florida State Park. It’s fun and you save money.
We drove our U24TB from Montreal to Sarasota, the speeds where unbelievable. 65mph is max for us. It’s 11,000lbs and won’t stop on a dime.
For many years, I've been monitoring my vehicle performance using an OBDII bluetooth adapter and phone software. With these two devices, I can see all the engine sensors and display key engine performances all live as I'm driving. Retired now but when I was working I would challenge myself to achieve the best gas mileage driving the 105 miles to and from work. I was able to get an average of 33 miles/gallon on a car that the manufacturer said only 24 miles/gallon was achievable. I quickly learned driving a bit slower and coasting as much as possible gave me this incredible performance. Now driving a Class A motorhome and a toad while monitoring engine performance on a larger tablet and ODBII adapter, I discovered driving 62 miles/hr. gives me the best gas mileage and a lot less stress.
I agree with the speed thing I only go 65. I found that when the speed is 65 I get less tired. I have volunteered for the last 7 years in the State Park in Florida.

Our tow vehicle is a Ram Promaster, and we pull an 18’ trailer. I set the cruise control at 60 and stay in the right lane. My gas mileage and stress level are both much improved😉

My home state ❤ we’ve been to Killens Pond. DE is pretty laid back state in Sussex county (southern DE) Rehoboth Beach and Cape Henlopen State park have become big attractions for our small tax-free state.
Looking forward to the Elkhart videos and the property videos. San Luis Obispo county is doing everything it can to keep people from visiting.

Hi Mike and Jenn. I was at Tampa and I talked to a few representatives in the State and National Park system about workamping. The one I’m interested in is in Yellow Stone as a shuttle bus driver. The benefits are the free full hookup campsight PLUS an hourly wage.
I also talked to a couple of full timers that work seasonally at farms and the one that attracted me was working the “sugar beet” harvest in the northern mid west. They say it pays a very high pay rate stating that they can make over $1,000 a week. It is a short (6 week) season that varies over about a 5-6 state area so you could go from one to another as the weather/harvesting season moves.
I agree with Ed I only do 60-65; pulling a TT. I camped at Killens two weeks ago, nice campground the pond trail is a nice hike.

Just a comment: we have a converter in our rv but not an inverter. We are able to use all 12 volt plugs and lights in the rv. We would need to add an inverter if we wanted to use the AC plugs.

Nearly an hour long video, I don't have time to sit and watch, waiting to find out "how to be a campground host" That is what your title says. I came here looking for information on HOW to and WHO to approach when you want to inquire about becoming a campground host to a particular campground.
I get it, you have to do stuff whether it's cleaning fire pits, cleaning up campsites, mowing, edging, cleaning and supplying restrooms. Again, if the answer is buried somewhere in your hour long video, I just do have time to sit and listen to the superfluous banter.
I could not find the Ultimate RV Toilet Cleaner Mike recommended anywhere on the internet. I think Mike meant Unique Rv Toilet Bowel Cleaner.
Love your podcasts. We never drive over 65 with our TT. Seeing way too may rv’s, TT’s and 5th wheels going too fast

great topics covered M&J, Although I am Canadian, and not sure if when visiting US campgrounds we could become "hosts", we like the idea and were curious about it. I have inquired into several east coast campgrounds, (here in Canada) but were always turned down simply because its not a "thing" here.

CA is trying to find a way to monetize HH for themselves. They will most likely require the business to buy some type of “permit” as soon as they figure out a new category.😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
