Egonu perhaps is Best player in the World now but against Belgium has played under par....Italy with Egonu, Danesi and Pietrini has probably the biggest firepower but in general italy plays very lazy and in some moments wastes a lot of points.... And plays with focos only in few situations
Of course Italy would slow a bit with Egonu, same with Serbia with Bosco, Ukraine without Haak, simple logic, you remove the top scorer, of course it will create a big impact. Poor reasoning.

Well not such a great performances if you look at her efficiency. Not a shot on her ability, just a remark on her and the whole Italian team fitness status. As they (the Italians) plan to go long on this tournament, they are not aiming for top shape at this stage (actually they are in the weight lifting room every morning). The Belgian instead, as they are fighting for going to the next stage, they are in their top shape. That is why there was game between these two teams where normally there should not be. That said, a very good performance from the Belgian team.

I'm perfectly agree. Miriam Sylla's performance, in my opinion, was also disappointing (and in general the criticalities are in place 4). Having said that, a very positive note is the psychic attitude (cancel 4 set points) and also the physical form expressed in the last set.
this is the mentality of Italian girls esp Egonu that I can't understand sometimes. They tend not to give their all and end up choking in the last part. They are complacent and think that other teams are really below them. Unlike USA team that always gives their best performance every game. But I still go with Egonu and Italy though ✌️ I know they are hiding a lot on their sleeves.

If you watch the whole game, you will agree this was one of the worst matches Egonu has ever played. This wasn't a performance at all. You can see she got really annoyed with herself because she didn't play better. It was only when Pietrini came to replace Sylla, Italy started to take control of the game. Egonu is one of the best (I prefer Haak) but not in this game.
You are right about this match, and Haak is an amazing player, but Egonu is literally from another planet and is not comparable with any current player (and perhaps with none in the history).

That was not fault, just like when Belgium did it at the end of the third set and the referee made them repeat the action because she thought it was fault but then the second referee said it was not. Anyway, a lot of questionable decisions were made yesterday by both of the referees (they should have called the challenge themselves if they were not sure), it definitely should not happen in a final (hope they'll choose better).
Sometimes there's no point in screaming and shouting after each point, you just waste a lot of energy in this way. I think she's just focused and in the 'get the job done' mode.

Agree. Indeed, the Italians girls made a lot of errors and, in general, played below their level. They woke up just at fourth set.
