Scientist Peter Ridd at Cook university I think has been studying the barrier reef for several decades.
He does not believe there is a problem , and has written papers stating this.
He has had been punished for his views !
There's to much money involved, they could not have Peter Ridd saying it was okay. ????

Read up about Dr Peter Ridd, a marine scientist who was ostracised by the scientific community for suggesting that the GBR was not dying. He has an excellent channel called Reef Rebels
Dr Peter Ridd was sacked by the James Cook University after 27yrs, many of those years were spent monitoring the Reef. All the data collected pointed to the reef being okay, for saying that he was sacked. The great Barrier charity has so far raised $256 million, the goverment says it will commit $1.6 billion and expert's say they will need $8.2 billion. It's a money making scam. ?

Watched a talk by prof Peter Ridd, he stated they were constantly testing the water in the rivers and had not found anything that would damage the reef. The guy has researched the reef since 1984 and has written over 100 scientific publications, he was sacked by his university for coming to the conclusion the Reef was not dying. ?
Our world can with stand many natural disasters and repair itself we are a pip on the landscape the world is a wonderful place
The Great Barrier Reef is a new construction geologically speaking. Just 15000 years ago with sea level 120m lower this would be dry land. The modern Coral developed about 200 million years ago when temperatures and CO2 were much higher .
Earth is in an Ice Age right now and has been for the last 2.6 million years. If we look at the last 200 million years those recent 2.6 have been the coldest including today.
Aren't we coming out of the ice age? So we should be warmer but for gates dumping bio waste in the skies.
@@Denise-vn8wz We are coming out of an ice age but it is a slow rise in temperature . We are still coming out of the coldest period in the last 10,000 years that was in the early 1800;s . We are still a way off the temperatures of around 10,000 years ago . Humans only discovered how to make a fairly accurate temperature measurements in the mid/late 1800's . Don't know if you have noticed that ice core samples do not get talked about to much now in regard to past temperatures , that is because the most recent samples show the planet is not warming the way we keep being told .

Earth is in an interglacial but still in the Ice Age. 130 000 years ago during the Eemian interglacial hippos swam the river we today call the Thames .
Earth's declining magnetic field strength and a more active sun are the main reason for the warming.

I recently snorkeled the Ningaloo reef in west Australia… definitely not dead… it’s thriving
If memory serves me correctly, I saw a documentary about the Ningaloo reef, and they showed (inadvertently I’m sure, being the ABC) old coral systems that were much higher out of the water, indicating that sea levels were much higher many thousands of years ago.
I always think of the village of Fairbourne that was supposed to flood. Council decided to let the sea reclaim it. Then it didnt flood and the council said how awkward. 😂 Global climate boiling change.

Great video Geoff. Recommend we all read Patrick Moore's book "Fake Invisible Catastrophes and Threats of Doom". The author was a founder of Greenpeace but left when the political activism got bigger than its environmental work. There is a whole chapter on the Reef, and it echoes what your commentator is saying - the reef is thriving! (along with polar bears and the fact that CO2 is vital to all life on earth!). He confirms again what you are saying, these climate alarms are all something we, as normal people, cannot directly check or verify. More of these Geoff.

The barrier reef thing is just like the Polar ice caps, They tell you one thing when infact the opposite is happening...Earlier this year NASA and several other orgs reported that there is more ice at the Polar Ice caps than there has been for over 20 years... Yet the media ignore this and bang on about Global warming.... Interestingly My wife is over in Greece for her hols ( I could not make it due to commitments elsewhere) and though there's wildfire fires here and there, all the images she has sent me shows them no bigger than 5-6 football pitches and the temps are the same as normal.. Almost as if the fires are deliberate....

3. In the right column, write down the antonym (opposite) of the contents of the left column.
4. Fold and tear the paper along the vertical line.
5. Screw up and throw the left hand column in the bin.
6. Review the remaining right hand list of antonyms.
7. Welcome the reality.
I dived the Coral Sea in the late 80's from the east/Vanuatu side. The reef was dead and bleached, very little sea-life at all. Nice to hear it's picked-up and new life is encouraged to prosper.

I had the privilege of visiting the Seychelles back in 1990, stunning place. I then had the privilege of returning just a few months ago. Things had barely changed including no island had disappeared under water, nothing had been ruined, yet a local guy took us out one evening on a boat and pointed out a few small trees on the waters edge of one island that had died and fallen over, as they always have done, and tried to use that one small thing to convince us that the water level was rising (on that one island) Crazy, but very sad because i could tell he'd been brainwashed by the media in order to pass that "information" on to his customers. Sadly, first time visitors might believe it, if they don't bother to think too deeply..
Thanks Geoff , great subject .

"Exposing the UN’s Coral Reef Climate Change Narrative' (here on YT) is an excellent interview with Peter Ridd exposing the facts and reality of the Great Barrier Reef ! Highly recommend it as a short insightful real view of the truth!! Peter Ridd is a genuine hero! He's been punched so many times for courageously presenting the facts and not sheepishly following the prescribed easy path.
Great discussion much needed. "Climate change" has become a religion rather than a science. Religion makes a lot of money. Maybe we should focus on why we are killing off other forms of life on this planet, or do we really care?
in the 80s when i was in secondary school they told me sea levels were going to rise 500 feet and the uk would be flooded. I remember because i found a map and discovered we lived at 525 feet.
Its like them stating the ice melting thus raising sea/ocean levels however if you put ice in a glass with water then let it melt it doesnt go above the rim of the glass, thus the ice unless all melted immediately wouldnt impact levels at all!
Agreed. Ish.
Currently "floating" ice melting would not alter sea levels (though it would alter the salinity and therefore the density and thermal capacity of the oceans) however, much of the planet's current ice fields are on land. If this ice melts then the sea levels will rise...
Regardless, the planet's weather and ecosystems will continue their cycles regardless of the current existence of the human animal.
The only thing that needs saving is the human soul, salvation through Jesus, yet everything in the media is designed to take us away from Jesus
Amazing video Geoff, thank u that really elevated my day!
I know where my next holiday will be..
Geoff, I first dived the reef 50 years ago off Salamaua in PNG, the last time dived it was 3 months ago off Cairns.
Dived it many times in between.
It was beautiful then, still beautiful now, the variety of coral, fish, sponges, shell fish etc. is simply mind blowing.
Early 90's I was in the Maldives on a fairly remote Island, massive currents, equatorial heat, fantastic corals/sea life, next trip, another more commercial island, offshore reef was bleached, island corals pristine, Sipadan end of 90's watching green turtles push divers out of the way to feed on acres of stag horn coral, wrecking it in the process, it was then we found out that we were only one resort out of five on the island, [we were sold the trip on a limit of 80 divers only, 50 logged dives minimum, at any one time] 5x80+staff! because money was to be made. when it was sufficiently damaged, the money men made it a marine park, and charged a fee, removed the resorts to the surrounding islands, and used twin-engined high speed boats to ferry huge numbers of permitted divers, all at extra cost, I visited about a decade ago, and it was a rollercoaster of boats, and divers, Reefs were doing ok. The goose was making tons of money. I dived all over the outlying islands there, you heard the fishing bombs all the time, but despite that the corals/sealife comes back. Its worth mentioning that the Roman sea baths in Malta , are still, after 2000 years filling up, and emptying, no more/less flooded than they were. My tuppence worth.
Went a few years ago...in superb condition
Cave divers have found cave drawings in a cavern on the French coast where the only cave entrance is 37m below current sea level. Estimated to have been done some 27,000 years ago, the sea level must have been at least 37m lower in those days. The rise since then hasn't been caused by the car.

I work in a school that’s busy pushing this nonsense. I have tried to correct this with some of the students, but with all the stuff in the media (and the rest of the teachers pushing it too);it’s difficult to get any headway.
I noticed where fishing takes place, the fish population didn't go down from fish caught. 1st because fishing rods have little impact. But the chum and such fed the fish, bringing them in. And no NET impact on the structure unlike commercial ways
Amazing video. Even if you look at this in the most basic level, the evidence is over whelming.
I visited Venice recently for the first time in 10 years, and surprisingly the water level hasn’t risen. They can still get their gondolas under the bridges just fine.
The barrier reef is growing. I went there in April and was told that by experts.
I live in Airlie Beach, the reefs still there and it's not dead.
When I was in the Florida Keys last year I found it fascinating that one thing they asked us to do on a guided tour was not use suncream we'd bought with us when snorkeling and only use their provided 'Coral safe' natural sun cream. Apparently the chemical run off from most suncreams kills coral. I suspect that not many people are aware of this, are going out on private boats or from shore and using chemical suncream killing corals, 2 years of lockdowns etc and it regenerates because people weren't going on holiday, just a theory mind.
100%👍 Great conversation
ian pilmer at the ipcc video on his book not for greens ....greenpeace dumped waste on the reef and got fined by local court not on news
Coral grows at least 1/2 inch a year, so it can easily keep up with current sea level rise.
What sea level rise ? There is none
…..if there was a sea level rise, which there isn’t.
Do you remember the Maldive Islands?
Remember the government holding a cabinet meeting underwater, while wearing scuba gear?
Those islands are rising vs sea level, not sinking.
And also since that stunt for the TV gullible, they’ve added six new airstrips to accommodate their ever increasing tourist numbers.
@@GT380man Obviously the extra melted ice (as seen in photos and videos and by people living near retreating glaciers) has gone somewhere. It's just not as much as the hype would have us believe. Ice melting and sea level rise in the warmer phases of an ice age cycle is normal.
I've been scuba diving 25years, have dived Australia, Thailand, Caribbean, Egypt, just name a few places. Coral does die, but it comes back naturally, el Nino is a bigger effect on reefs. All the reefs I have been to are beautiful places that are full of life and not dying.

There is a current runing from North to south. Hence the water exiting from rivers turns south and sort of hugs the coast. Despite this, farmers have fertiliser and run-off controls placed on them because they are "harming the reef". No such controls on the destruction for building wind farms.

Some of the Barrier Reef islands and reefs were used for target practice in WW2 and largely destroyed. Today they have fully recovered.
My wifes family is from a small island in Thailand and the reefs there go through cycles of dying off and regrowing jn different areas. Coral is very resilient.

I’ve lived in Aus all my life & that reef dying rubbish has been going on forever…
My understanding of coral based on what I read in Dr Patrick Moore´s most recent book ( a founder of Greenpeace and its former Scientific advisor)is that it is ( if I remeber correctly) purely calcium carbonate drawn from carbon dioxide absorbed into the sea. The colour is provided by different varieties of krill who inhabit the inside of the stems. if there are changes in the composition of the water the krill will evacuate the coral to find a friendlier location. This, I understand is bleaching but the coral is not dying. Please correct me if I have got this wrong. It is some time since I read the book..
Once one can "read between the lines" there's a very good chance one will be able to "read between the lies"....there ya go...double stack.....

Hi Geoff you and Lee should get a ferry over to northern ireland and do some driving videos around northern ireland
In the early days of keeping marine fish, dead coral was used in the aquarium and would get green with algae. The coral would be removed from the tank and cleaned by literally "bleaching" it white. So, chemical run-off does seem to be a likely culprit, or at least a contributing factor.
Culprit for what?
Just one more lie in the great green swizz
