Actually the rebound indications make sense. + means more dampening and - means less dampening. The more dampening the slower the rebound for the same given weight
Are you sure tou have to add air to the other ? To both legs ? Or just one ? I have the Factory forks with the two black screws on each leg and under it there's valves.

It should be on the ground, but not under rider load...

Yes. Only one leg. Right side, without brakes. You can search on UA-cam, lots of tutorials.
