Not gonna lie, this has to be my favorite ACG season. Hear me out, it is the most experimental collection that Errolson Hugh has made (in my opinion). It is super interesting to see him experimenting with more out there designs and seeing what he can do with some colors. I get that it isn't as "tech" as the techwear fans would want, but looking at it from a fashion point of view I think it is really strong. In my opinion the pattern is actually really nice, it reminds me of snow, which is rather fitting seeing as this is a winter collection. I also think that the designs of the pieces are very cool, you have all the ways that the long jacket can have the neck piece attached, which has nice functionality and looks really cool, and the more technical nature (of the construction) of some of the garments is cool to see. I also think that the pieces would honestly be much worse if they were in all black because that is getting so overdone by other brands and by Acronym itself, so it is a very bold and distinctive design choice to have the colors and it could lead to wayyyyyy more interesting tech fits that incorporate colors into their aesthetic. I also like having some pieces that are stuffed, because I personally like not having to always have a shell then two layers under, I like being able to throw on a t-shirt and a warm down jacket and not have to deal with the extra layers, and also warmth in cold weather is another type of functionality. Overall I love this collection, but everyone's tastes are their own and fashion is subjective so think whatever you want to think.
I really, really love this collection and I'm kinda hoping I can save up for some bits because it is less popular I'll probably be able to pick it up on eBay later on. I love the conceptual pattern, the swirls are like a sophisticated polka dot graphic print and it really does feel like staring into the sky and watching snow hypnotically swirl around. Also COLOUR I love colour in my wardrobe I'm all about wearing white, grey and brights, (maybe a few neutrals) I love the techwear ideals of practical, longwearing clothing but I hate the black everything, yes it does mean you get to look like a ninja and the focus will be more on the hardware, fabric and the cut of a garment but I love this collection because of it's huge personality, there are still some army greens in there but honestly I feel like a lot of men's fashion misses out on colour and print. I really feel like this collection feels like late 1970's German experimental print, something like the Kunstkredit exhibition in it's aggressive geometric landscape. I'm glad someone else sees it as an interesting experimental line.
Dee Gee I personally dig the gore tex parka @ 3:29. The wind scarf and big hood that comes with it is quite unique. I dont mind at all that the branding is in neon green rather than traditional black.
@@Tiger24kicks Quick question, as I can't find any info on it online. Does the medal stand shell have a zip in the collar for the insulating summit jacket? Can't really see it on pictures online, nor is it mentioned in videos about the jacket.
hopped on the techwear train too late... still hit F and ordered a pair of the cargos in black this morning so I could still have a taste before it was gone forever
I'd be down to rock more color, but with high price points its hard for me to justify spending that much for a piece I can only match with certain things. The advantage of grey, black, and white colorways is the ability to wear them continuously without having them as the focal point of my outfit.
I think that's a big part of the ACG direction. All-black techwear clothing has already been done, so why not try incorporating colours? Maybe it's ahead of its time or doesn't have the same appeal, but it's still an avenue worth persuing. I think it's super cool when techwear outfits have a bit of colour in them!
Id definitely be curious if adidas can step up now and do something a bit more worth while, their current collabs have been pretty lack luster, ive only really liked adidas x kolor. I still think Nikelab are going to adobt the tech aesthetic of nike ACG and develop off that.
NikeLab ACG was truly ahead of its time. I was lucky enough to afford to pick up a few staple pieces (a White/Silver 2-in-1, Black/Navy 2-in-1, Yellow Alpine, and a few 2018 "Snow pattern" pieces) at the end of 2021. I don't see _anyone_ wearing _anything_ like it, even in the fairly large US city I live in.
didn't like the collection at first but the more I see of it the more I like it. That black insulated jacket is fire and It's nice to see some actual new ideas being introduced as the standard tech wear stuff is just being rinsed
Ya Boi here! So, this collection sold out in Canada when it was released on the 21 of Dec. By Sunday it was all gone and the page removed from the Nike website. I personally bought the Down parka in yellow with the beanie. It was worth every cent and I can honestly say it kept me dry and warm during the rainy New Years. These 2 items are my 1st and only Nikelab ACG Products. Big hole in da heart bro.
The long jacket this year (black and OD) is the only interesting piece imo. It feels like Nike "took back" ACG, for the worst. Thank god Stone Island's Shadow Project is still pretty dope. SS19 looks crazy good too.
Nike ACG will definitely be missed, this year's collection was lacking, but I still am a fan of a few of the pieces, especially the trench. Hugh tested the waters, and I'm interested to see where he goes with this new taste.
Hey antwon! Have you checked out new balance X eastlogue collab? I feel their stuff really fits into the techwear aesthetics as well as giving some unique identity into their style
So far, I've only seen it on the Korea NB website, so yeah, I'm not sure if it's even available to my country of Singapore, tho it might be more easily accessible
Favorite piece is the FW17 Alpine Jacket ‘Dust Yellow’ printed. I fully agree with you on the latest prints Ant.. its too literal in my opinion! A winter jacket with a snowy looking pattern? No thanks.. When it comes to sleek prints + forward design.. GALL is still my number one joint ;)
Yo what size is that green Nikelab ACG jacket your wearing in the video?? I have the same one but mine is too big I got an XL and I'm about 6'0 foot 190 pounds. Just wondering because I need to sell mine and buy a large I think.. lmk tnx
I would either wear over a pain jacket to make it a bit more interesting or alongside more form-fitting athletic gear for a more futuristic athleisure look
There was a clean black colorway for the hydration vest released earlier this year with Mathew Williams so ACG couldn't really do the same thing. Maybe with the black and white snow pattern though.
100% agree. Better of the collection are ones without the color vomit patterns. I’d draw the line of crazy pattern that can still qualify as cool tech wear is the alpine from fw17 with the line pattern. Very sad that nikelab acg went out, and went out with such underwhelming pieces. I did manage to pick up my all time favorite piece: fw 2016 black alpine jacket. A piece to remember what once was.
Nike Canada hasn't stocked this stuff at all. I think after the last collection flopped, they decided not to bother. Nike Running has a lot of tech-focused pieces these days, and they're plain black! Obviously more on the athletic tech side. Veilance?
GBLASTERSOUND ??? popular sizes sold out launch day. some XLs, Ls are available at nikelab accounts (retailers). last 3 collections fit large (SS'18, FW'18, Holiday'18), so best to try on if you're in Van, T.O. or MTL at NikeLab boutiques. g/luck
Veilance has a very different overall aesthetic to Nikelab ACG (and I imagine has a slightly different target market) but I'm sure some ACG buyers are gonna start looking in that direction now. I certainly will be!
I've just recently grabbed a few old Nikelab ACG pieces. Two un-ACG branded (minimal branding versions) 2 in 1 jackets. And a pair of the deploy cargos from 18. I agree the photos from Nike for the deploy cargos dont do them any justice. But styled well and on the right body type they look great. I'm sad they dont make this stuff anymore. :(
I just bought this ACG INSULATED JACKET Though on th neck it has a zipper, like it came with a detachable hood or you can add one. Do you know anything about the hood that is missing?
There are a few jackets that it's designed to zip into, so the outer jacket is the shell (for wind/rain protection) and the inner jacket provides insulation. Some of the older jackets (e.g. the Nikelab ACG 2-in-1 from FW15) actually came with both a shell and liner together for exactly that reason
Really sad to see it go before I could go fully into it, and you just know that all of the better pieces from past collections will be INSANE in resale. Unfortunate for one of Techwear's biggest players to go out like this. I don't think there is something that will come up quickly to replace it, but I hope something will be there one day.
The long coat that I bought, from the last collection, does not have the ACG in the chest. And its weird because I bought in nikelab Tokyo. Someone can explain ?
The flagship $650 gore tex coat in the collection is like $200 bux rn. People sleeping. I think it’s the nicest looking piece in the collection, and possibly even one of the nicest ever too in terms of nikelab acg parka length jackets. Yea the neon hits on the logo is a bit flashy, but at least jt doesn’t have the vomit patterns and it comes in black.
I copped the Fw18 black jacket. The modular hood and collar are worth a look - it can do old school acronym ninja hood plus face mask stuff. The pics on the Nike website do NOT do it justice, it looks like the kid in the photos has never worn a coat before. You can kind of see better fits in the promo video. The dotty stuff is terrible, but - I wonder if the season has ended with a whimper because of crappy Nike marketing? Mind you this is my first serious tech piece so I could be just blabbing.
I grabbed the black trench and cargos and they are pretty dope, part of me wishes there was a little bit more branding on the trench but hey. Also Errolson says on his last insta post on ACG “we’ll be back” ..so there’s that?
@@unlimitedbladeworks6459 he hashed tagged we will return as in #wewillreturn. I'm guessing they still will do collabs, just not every season like they have been doing.

Do you guys think futuristic looking clothing is automatically considered techwear or is there a category in fashion where this futuristic look has its own name?
Only pieces I'm not down with was the down jacket (pun intended) and accessories, mainly because I personally don't like wearing down jackets/coats and accessories. I bought the pants and am waiting for the other pieces to hit hit the clearance outlet or other sellers for cheaper. I personally like the fact that Errolson's ACG experimented and took risks instead of playing it safe and catered to the mass of boring color tones and predictable designs. I loved that Nikelab ACG was unpredictable and even though I prefer the older pieces I still can respect and appreciate the design of each piece (Except the Poncho. That thing was trash). But because it's the final collection people might feel like this was a cop out from Errolson and Nikelab and had expectations in the wrong place. My personal favorite from the entire NikeLab ACG Collection is the 2 in 1 System Jacket from FW 2016 and Cargo pants from FW 2016. Runner ups are the Alpine 2016/2017 iterations and the deploy jackets from this years SS. Unfortunately trying to find a replacement for the system jacket in a small will run me close to 1k, so eventually I will actually go and buy a good rep.

It can be associated with a variety of different conditions or it could be absolutely nothing - I don't mean to be rude or pry but just wanted to mention it to you in the off chance you haven't been through the health care system lately!
