Your video has better vision than your eyes are going to see! We did ours today on an 07. We used a 2x4 from the firewall to radiator support to lay on, my left arm is ripped up coming across the throttle body, use your forehead to lean on firewall. The vacuum line you mention is for the PCV valve, we changed that too since we were there. We had a deep 6 point 35mm that was a tad loose but worked fine,. then that line came off the back of manifold putting things back together LoL .. Nice vid thanks!
As I was watching this video... I actually got physically ill... I can't believe these engineers would knowingly design stuff like this when they known how hard it is to maintain..or change out the parts... I'm old and sore....can't see....and,like you... can't get my arms and hands back to the part....I've gotta $$pay$$. Thank you for the information...and takein the time to video the swap.
Thank you, i am facing having to replace my X's on her 2006 commander 4.7, the 5/16 tube flange bolts are a nightmare, i looked to see if i could negotiate they from underneath, but in the commander it doesnt look good, again, thank you so much, great vid brother, Dale.
I have one to replace on a Durango with the 4.7. I remove the wiper motor assembly and tray so I have much easier access. I am not thrilled about it. I am installing an OEM part. I have heard of many aftermarket valves failing after a year or less. Also make sure your engine is running well or the carbon build up will be fast and you are doing it again early.
Thanks for the video. I did this yesterday. It was pretty simple to get out, hard part was putting new one back on. Had to get an extra set of hands from underneath to line up the bolts.
I'm about to do this job on a 06 Dodge Durango 4.7. no room to get to this thing! What a pain in the ass it's going to be. I though my 06 e60 was a notch to work on. No! This truck is more of a pain 😖 trust me!
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram with a Hemi and my engine light came on with a code of p0406 I fixed the problem by just doing one thing I replace my gas cap and erase the code...... never came back.........
The codes should have been reset if you had the battery disconnected for 2+ hours. I also heard that the PCM needs to be re flashed after EGR valve is replaced. So my question is, Did you have to get the PCM re-flashed after changing the EGR valve, or did the truck run fine afterwards.
Yes. This. No need to reflash. Person that said that, probably didnt know what reflash meant. I'd still disconnect the battery, So you don't have to wait a few days to see if the problem was fixed or not.
Great video. The only one I found to have the correct location of the egr valve for the 07 4.7 magnum model. This was a great help. Thanks 👍

Good stuff, thanks for the video. Im looking forward to this at all.
What problems were you having with the EGR valve to begin with?

Thanks Alvarez, now to replace mine. What a pain is going to be.

I just got done taking mine of and boy god damn it lmao 🤣🤣
Thanks man was help but it's still sputtering at 1k rpm. Did my iacv tbps and cleaned the throttle body
Does anyone have a video for replacing an EGR valve for a 2012 dodge ram 1500 4.7L
Any updates on the 2012? Thats what i got
not an easy job. but i will make a video of this when opportunity to change one arises
The eash way to vet ojt is yo get a flexable extension from home depot attach the socket to it and pull it out with a drill took me 20 mins.
I have a 2005 Ram 1500 4.7
Imma do an egr delete I have to find a mechanic shop to perform egr delete on my pcm ..
Thank you

No reflash necessary; that's a load of crap. Replace it, drive it. The light will go away within a few days, if not immediately.

why not just delete it and cap the ports then get a quick flash to disable the codes from popping up?
i just replaced the entire engine instead of just the egr..
What where your symptoms
Don’t you drive to get rid of check engine light?
i just did 1 today, it was tough to get to.
Thanks I've gotta replace mine I just don't want to do it.
should have taken the throttle body off.also possible coil, fuel rail, injectors, and intake if you have to do it with no one to help.
Another case of a mechanic screwing an engineer's wife.
Recall and ten year warranty on the 4.7 ram egr valve.
EGR had a recall? what years was it for? my vin (07) only has air bag recalls.
Ya. Working on 4.7 durango, not 10 or 13mm , damn T40 ! BS
Yeah right doesn't help it all not even show when you replace the part bolony
A tutorial on ERG valve. 😆 🤣 😂 lol
What happens if you have no egr valve
If you don't have one then you buy one. Go to Rockauto.com. Or if the engine doesn't have it then you don't change it.
@@SpinWave this is hilarious. Thank you needed it
Useless bro..
Can't understand a damn word
He is speaking californian language.
