20yrs ago I worked nightclubs and hotels as security just to meet girls (in addition to my 9-5 IT job). My 5yrs taught me there were 3 different types. Wannabe tough guys, professionals like me who were bored on weekends and lastly those who were incapable of doing anything else.
Because the wages are low.
I remember having a border and a government that secured it.

Seems to be a lot of people in the world who demand to know what is non of their bussiness.
They're highly unlikely to be supplied from the pylon, that's probably a 132kV or 275kV line - I'd hazard a guess that they'll have a 33kV substation onsite, and take a feed at 33kV into their own substation / switchroom

CBRE will only be the facilities company who will manage the building, being the first line of defence. But judging by the state of the intake grills, not managing it at all well. I hope the owners see this as it will definitely lead to failure.

I can agree with him and DJ about the road leading up to the main gate being part of their land. However just curious as to why the main gate isn't at that yellow barrier right where the public road changes. Surely that would make it more secure than putting the gate a quarter into their land🤔

DJ do you ever get down to Crawley (about 20 mins from Gatwick airport). They have some great units on the Manor Royal industrial estate. I'd love to see over top of Virgin Atlantic who's based there

Was that grass really their property? It's typical of employees and guards to "claim" a piece of land is private when in reality its not.

Hi DJ, you know a lot about these sort of places, I wonder, if you have time, could you explain to be what happens to the stored diesel? I googled it, and it appears to go "off" between 6-12 months of being stored, what do they do with it?
They polish the fuel every 3 to 6 months to keep it usable.
It doesn't go off, at least not for a long time. The datacentre I work at has had the tanks filled twice in 10 years. The generators start up automatically once a week for testing and they are more than happy with the "old" fuel.

When I was kid I was always told ... "I want, doesn't get!" I had to learn to say "can I have..." instead. I usually still didn't get it anyway, but I learnt to ask for things properly.
over where I live the land under these utility towers can be private. Only the utility companies have a right of way onto private land.

Hi DJ, another good vid from you - you have to laugh at these buildings that are hiding in plain sight and trying to disguise their activities. It would attract far less attention if the put up a sign saying something like "Fred Bloggs Logistics". That would almost certainly not attract the attention of DJ....... lol.

Not an issue. The whole building is a Faraday cage, and the racks inside containing the servers are also Faraday cages as they are all earthed.

That is a mickey mouse data centre. Vehicles parked adjacent and no sprinklers. Also close to major road. No sign of a vehicle airlock either.
