- A video from the Expedition Photographer, with beautiful highlights from the trip! This was the mid-December tour, from 6th to 20th of December, with the MS Roald Amundsen from Hurtigruten Expeditions. The journey took us to places like Drake Passage (passing our sister ship MS Fridtjof Nansen), Danco Island, Orne Harbor, Lemaire Channel, Port Charcot, Börgen Bay, Damoy Point, Whalers Bay in Deception Island, Point Wild on Elephant Island (where Shackleton's men stayed for a winter after the Endurance sank), Stanley, Saunders Island and New Island - the last three in the Falkland Islands.
It was a truly wonderful trip, thank you so much to the guests that promised great weather at the beginning of the trip - and really delivered on that promise! 😄
All is filmed with the new Olympus/OM Systems OM-1 camera (except drone shots, filmed with DJI AIR 2S)

I have also just returned home from this trip. It was absolutely fantastic, definitely the trip of a lifetime.
My wife and I are watching your stunning photography, perfect editing and spot-on choice of music and of course, your sophisticated cinematic eye and we are enthralled. Tomorrow morning we board a plane to Buenos Aires and then join other Hurtigruten passengers to fly to Ushuaia and then board the Roald Amundsen headed for Antarctica! We are even more excited now than we were yesterday! Thank you for bring to us and everyone else your sophisticated montage of a place out of this world.

I visited the Falklands around 10 years ago. But only for one day. On a cruise from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso. It was bitterly cold and windy. Though december should be summer down there.
I would have loved to visit some of the interesting places you show in the video.
This season was the first time I visited the Falklands, and I was really positively surprised! An absolutely fantastic place! 😃

We were on this voyage. The scenery was at times staggeringly beautiful, felt almost unreal, like a Game of Thrones CGI compilation brought to life. The Lemaire Channel is fabulous and the glorious weather was an amazing plus. Lovely compilation Espen, do you have by any chance some more footage of the LC available? You would only enhance UA-cam by posting it. I understand if you are saving it for your own showreel!!😁

Work hard, save a little bit every month... for many people this is a trip of a lifetime, and they save until they are in their 60s, 70s or even 80s.... It can be done, my friend! 😊

Great video - we are booked for 2023. Any info you can share for fellow drone pilots? Any objections to courteous and responsible aerial photography in Chile or in Antarctica?
As a guest you are not allowed to fly in Antarctica. It's very strictly regulated and managed, so that will not happen basically. I was onboard as official photographer, and even then there's strict regulations and paperwork. In Chile it's possible I guess, just google to find the rules and regulations. But If you're there as a guest you will not be able to fly in Chile either. I think this is pretty much the same with all companies.
