Dany: I will risk my alliances and my chance at the Iron Throne to free the slaves of this city Also Dany Season 8: *BUUUURN BABY BURN, IT'S ON FIYAAAA!*
Now that is a Queen. She should have burned down King's Landing at the start when Cersi betrayed her. As Olenna Tyrell said "You're A Dragon, Be A Dragon"
She could have burned down the Red Keep and spared the city, who would likely have been grateful for ridding them of Cersei even though they weren't slaves in the same way as Meereen's underclass, and ruled the Seven Kingdoms with Jon Snow.. that would have been a more fitting ending for her character.
Haha, apparently two men can carry a chest of gold. People have no idea how much gold weighs. Those chests with the gold in them would be like 200-300 kgs.
Closer to 1000 kg, I remember the last scene in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", where Eastwood slings $100,000 in gold onto a horse, and then rides the horse away. Over 150kg, plus a man, plus all his gear. He'd need a Percheron.
I like how this guy's "car" comes with it's own walking stereo. He's like yo play me a sick beat to roll up on this bitch with. Seriously, think about it. Why would there be a drummer. "What do you do for a living? " "Oh I walk in front of the bosses human carriage and play a drum"....."Why?" "I....I dont know"
The older you get, the more you realize that Daenerys' approach, while deeply inspiring, was also very unrealistic. You can't just turn a system upside-down that quickly and expect things to go smoothly like a utopia. And when Daenerys ruled Meereen, she realized this for herself and was even forced to allow indentured servitude, to hold things together. That's why Tyrion's approach was smart, i.e. allow a 7-year transition period with the end goal of abolishing slavery, instead of snapping your finger and expecting it to switch off like a light bulb - doesn't quite work that way.
Not all that unrealistic considering the reality of change is something real life organizations are struggling to grasp. Nothing changes overnight, but it's a hard pill to swallow.
"a single day of freedom is worth more than a lifetime in chains" - greyworm "for a slave, a single day can feel like years" - Missandei "I never held much with slavery […]. You can’t just go… usin’ another kind of people, like they wasn’t people at all. Know what I mean? Got to end, sooner or later. Better if it ends peaceful, but it’s got to end even if it has to be with fire and blood" - GRRM
The argument for a slow and planned out transition should not be used as an excuse for no transition at all-and no transition is what he is trying to bribe her into accepting in this scene.
Not even Tyrion's approach would have worked. She would have need to stay here indefinitely for it to work and set up new Kingdom or Republic Idk in Ghis. The old aristocracy was still very much around and they would need to dealt with or completely removed for the her reforms to successfully take root.
So much patience for her birth right the iron throne up until here all for common people and slaves she doesn't know but finally when she was eventually about to get everything she wanted she was shown more eagered and then mad all of a sudden. The people she lost isn't enough to turn her mad, she could have burned common people in a fit of rage and later regretted it and it all could have been like before but no she becomes the mad queen all of a sudden.
Exactly bruh. Like the mad queen story arc isn’t the problem, it’s how quick and sudden it was. It should’ve been a much longer, drawn out descent into madness. Over a season or 2. Not within a few fuckin episodes. And that’s what i always say too, like what made her instantly snap and go absolutely insane and slaughter innocent babies and an entire city? She didn’t do that when she lost all her close friends or her dragon or anything else, but missandei dying was enough to make her turn
In the book it explores the slave trade more deeply. Dany is magnanimous in her want to free the slaves, however it's quick implemention devastates the economy and its citizens. Many former slaves go to her and tell her that they lived better as slaves and they were respected by their masters and preferred that to living in the streets. You get a bit of it here when the old man wanted to return to being a slave because he was cared for and loved by his owners but in the book it's more pronounced. Part of being a good ruler is knowing how to implement radical changes practically otherwise you'll anger everyone.
There are over 70 gold bars of roughly 2x8x20 cm size, therefore each weight over 6 kilo, so almost 500 kg in each chest. With such strong slaves, Yunkai has nothing to fear!
Drogon don't take shit from nobody when it comes to his mother😅 lil man was ready to break some throats even when he was a lil fella. He don't want nobody messing with his Momma. 🤞🤣
If i were her, and my goal is to concuer westeroos i would taken the gold and ships, and sailed elswhere until my forces are stronger and my dragons are growned, but thats just me...
Gold bars like the one shown would weight about 25lbs each. I count nine just in the top layer of the chest on the left. That alone would be 225lbs. Unless there is a false bottom to the chests, there are at least 10 layers. That's 2250lbs, over a ton. And two slaves carry it. Wow...if they are that strong, why don't they just free themselves?
I particularly don't care on Daenerys being mad. I just don't like the way they made it. Make such a great character suddenly mad out of a few sad events without a proper development is the same as ruining the character and throwing the whole previous development in trash.
Can we just take a second and give this guy some serious credit. Not only did he just casually walk up to, but he also THREATENED a lady with 3, THREE actual dragons next to her. And he threatened her in a very aggressive tone at that. The freakin balls on this guy. I get that he was told that he had safe passage, but that's still THREE live juvenile dragons. That's like saying "hey you see that lady being protected by a pack of ferocious wolves that she raised from birth? Go attack her, the wolves probably won't do anything. Oh yeah, they also breathe fire".
Accidentally dropped here... I don't know how is it written originally, however the scene lacks the royalty and here are the reasons why: 1. The Khalisee of Whole 27 kingdoms, of Westeros and Easteros, liberator of peaceful slave people of the Southsteros and so on and so forth would have better education and also, would practice that education (of aristocracy and relevant manners, ethics) as well not to BREAK HER PROMISES, as the word of the KING OF EVERYTHING AND ALL SHALL HAVE BEEN TRUSTED (At lease, in this kind of formal gatherings, where many eyes attend to see,, especially during times, when the death was was recording its accounts with red pencil). Having this said, the kind of meetings were well prepared, childish actions would also be excluded unless agitated by any of the parties, which didn't happen from the visitor. 2. With the comprehensive intro of the point 1, having title of the 'Queen who was not to be believed', adding - another nickname to it: 'the Thief Queen' would be also granted - Utterly Unacceptable for anyone - Especially the Ruler. Gift was part of the negotiation. 3. Gold is gold - Anytime, Anywhere!. However no Ruler would act as a poor, greedy, indecent being (Peckerwood?), would even strictly abstain from expressing their uttermost desire of that golden pieces. There are few more points, but I have even more important business to do. I just wrote it all above (which is more than enough to get the point) for prospective rulers of Allsteros, to not reiterate the mistakes of Khalisi. Not for you, Vagabond bast.3#@cm3r(*#&@&(!_09bc!! The End

I miss Original GoT shot in the outdoors with real skies. The new one was all shot inside a domed studio where its always gloomy and dull.
Haha, apparently two men can carry a chest of gold. People have no idea how much gold weighs. Those chests with the gold in them would be like 200-300 kgs.
Either they are very strong men or the box is not full of gold and is just a sample gift.
Closer to 1000 kg, I remember the last scene in "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", where Eastwood slings $100,000 in gold onto a horse, and then rides the horse away. Over 150kg, plus a man, plus all his gear. He'd need a Percheron.
The dragons made no such promises and you have threatened their mother! Dude did you not hear her TITLES! 😂😂😂😂😂
No way would it be easy to carry that much gold with only 2 guys.
I like how this guy's "car" comes with it's own walking stereo. He's like yo play me a sick beat to roll up on this bitch with.
Seriously, think about it. Why would there be a drummer. "What do you do for a living? " "Oh I walk in front of the bosses human carriage and play a drum"....."Why?" "I....I dont know"
She is prob my favorite charater in series so far(i didnt watch series just yt im to young)😅
GoT is a good series, just remember it ends with season 7-possibly season six. Just remember that-it is important.
To be fair, those were pretty generous terms from Razdal.
back when danny was a well written character and not some comicbook villain who just wants to destroy everything.
Throwing that chunk of meat for the dragons to fight over was meant to intimidate/scare him.
Lol! You noticed that too. Yes, they're small (as dragons go) but still intimidating.
"PERHAPS WE'LL MAKE A SLAVE OF YOU AS WELL !!"
Drogon roars :
"..... You swore me safe conduct...... plz dont hurt me"
Always rewinding early scenes like these to catch all the dialogue because the writing is so good
The older you get, the more you realize that Daenerys' approach, while deeply inspiring, was also very unrealistic.
"a single day of freedom is worth more than a lifetime in chains" - greyworm
"for a slave, a single day can feel like years" - Missandei
"I never held much with slavery […].
@@pplr1 Oh totally agree with that.
Just realize her dress is basically pulled into the neck loop thing as one fabric. Pretty clever
She is one of a kind.
This is the Daenerys we loved, the one we knelt before. Not the Killer in Season 8. Daenerys wanted to Break the Wheel without killing any innocence.
You were supposed to be the chosen one!
I HATE YOU!!!
Emília é a melhor de sua geração. escandalosamente talentoso! mulher incrível
Love how she puts him in a kiddy chair
She is the coolest actress on this planet😊And I really like all those dragons😊
To be honest he did offer her a pretty good deal
Gold bars like the one shown would weight about 25lbs each. I count nine just in the top layer of the chest on the left. That alone would be 225lbs. Unless there is a false bottom to the chests, there are at least 10 layers. That's 2250lbs, over a ton. And two slaves carry it. Wow...if they are that strong, why don't they just free themselves?
If true interesting catch. Probably not the worst logic flaw in the good seasons of GoT though.
The one true Queen!!!! 👑🔥🐉🙌🏽
Aww baby drogon! 😍
Drogon like, “hell nah! Dis my gold g! Dead ass!”
She is such a fabulous actress.
Danny is so fine
Ah... those first five and a half seasons.
How time flies, this was really 9 years ago?!
deyneries had all the jaw dropping moments of GOT
"What happens to things that don't bend?" Damn that was pretty good
I particularly don't care on Daenerys being mad. I just don't like the way they made it. Make such a great character suddenly mad out of a few sad events without a proper development is the same as ruining the character and throwing the whole previous development in trash.
Always fun to watch
SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL
Well played, Queen. Well played.
I love the dragon's appreciation for the value of gold.
U re telling me this Daenerys became mad ? Lol
She kind of forgot about not becoming mad.
She was crazy since the beginning
@@evgenitantikov5865 man stfu, d&d messed everything up
@@nottherey4333 because she didn't have the opportunity (power) to do it at the beginning, but it was clear, only fanboys couldn't see it.
She was the cutest this season
Can we just take a second and give this guy some serious credit. Not only did he just casually walk up to, but he also THREATENED a lady with 3, THREE actual dragons next to her. And he threatened her in a very aggressive tone at that. The freakin balls on this guy. I get that he was told that he had safe passage, but that's still THREE live juvenile dragons. That's like saying "hey you see that lady being protected by a pack of ferocious wolves that she raised from birth? Go attack her, the wolves probably won't do anything. Oh yeah, they also breathe fire".
'Now Get Out' , she said in an elegant thug way lol.
Imagine how long her name speech wouldve been had missandei survived the burning of kings landing
Accidentally dropped here... I don't know how is it written originally, however the scene lacks the royalty and here are the reasons why:
The End
If you wonder why Daenerys is writen to have wit and humor in this episode as opposed to always stoic as she usually is portrayed in the show, it is because this episode was written by grrm inatead of d&d
She was beautiful freeing slaves …
Or was she just being righteous but did not actually care about the slaves.
Performative woke princess doing tokenism.
@@Sujay95 stfu how is it anything like that
I'm still love this movies until now 2023
back when drogon and his bros were teensy little bois 🥺😭
I like the way the queen does business..!😂😂
The most polite “please f*ck off” I’ve ever seen.
Personally, I would have f*cked off but that’s just me
D&D to each other:
👨🦱: The masters said she was mad...so she goes mad!!
👨🦱: BRILLIANT! Write it, and let's shoot it!
🕺🕺: Whoop whoop! 🎉
Anyone gonna talk about how casually 4 slaves carried in 2 full chests of solid gold
And they are so skinny too
Great stuff!
Shes an absolute boss. Wtf happened in season 8? Disaster.
