Deantoni is incredible, can shred and fill with deep grooves and odd rhythms all over the place, but will hold down the entire band and keep in time with that bassline.
I am proud to say that I did the lighting for this amazing show by this incredible bunch of musicians! I was the House Electrician/Lighting Director at Highline Ballroom for nearly 10 years.
I come back to this drum solo at least once a year so I can remember the moment I saw this live.
8 years later. deantoni parks is still a BEAST
this was the last song in their set for Chicago. so fucking amazing. the vocals, drums, everything amazing! so glad I was able to witness this. ;)
I currently enjoy this more than TMV, this sounds so fresh and they look and sound so happy and free to do whatever they want!
🫶
Agreed! I love TMV, but this is Omar on a different level and D on drums is sick!!!
Such a beautiful snare sound.
This feels very much like Astroid Power up
son demaciado buenos¡¡¡¡¡¡
hace pokito los vi en telehit y demonios¡¡¡ envidio la habilidad de su baterista,(es mi idolo)
AHORA BATERISTA DE RESIDENTE
Best Show I Ever Went to it was in the moment really came alive, perfect grooves and interplay
i need to hear all these full jams please Sargent House!!
He better release this as a Live DVD or CD!!!!!
@wielderofdrumstix I think it's because Pridgen wasn't afraid to be loud when songs required less of his touch and that's just his style. Deantoni, on the other hand, knows when he should be loud, quiet, fast, etc in order to compliment the songs even further. Two completely amazing different drummers with different mind sets.
Deantoni Parks is a goddamn professor at Berklee.
im so excited to hear more.
00:38 Juan - "ayyyy dis boy wild"
Jajaja
Wow this is so awsome.. MOREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Demais esse som. Omar deveria voltar mais ao Brasil, não só com o Mars Volta, também com esse trabalho aí que é lindo.
The look on Juan's face at 0:40 is priceless, haha.
this was a great show
The Best REverb
amazing... nothing else to say pure feeling!
Deantoni Parks Group (With Omar and others as Guests)
i was at this show, it was incredible.
you can download the cd at the Mars Volta Mexico Blogspot
Live at the troubadour and Live at Highline Ballroom. The video seems to be from two different sets.
so great :)
so much control of those drum sticks
I'm in love.
i wish i could go back to this moment at that show it was an awesome feeling.like being in the studio with the band or something
why is there a bit missing at the start!!! it sounded amazing!
@theweez26 This set of videos have been released as a CD, it is called 'どういたしまして' and is great!
i like this beat at 2:00 !! it's so energic
dude when this will be a full movie?
THIS IS A GREAT MOMENT IN OMAR LAND
@tblock18 Miel del ojo - solar gamling its a prety neat album version
This is better than most of the Volta's newer stuff
@fob199 I remember in an interview Juan was saying how Him and Marcel are always watching Deantoni and are always just blown away every time they play. Deantoni is on a whole 'nother lever
This song is such a fuckin tease
Lorentz. Not from Solar Gambling. It's on an album that features the live recordings of these songs. It's a Japanese album title that translates to "You're Welcome".
god damn, Juan Alderete and Deantoni Parks are so slick together!!!
I just realized that this is in black & white after seeing a video that is in color in the suggestions. haha
@UnrealFingerboards thx =)
Thanks TheDanification. I had already found out who this crazy aZZ drummer was. Thanks anyways. I found my new fave drummer. D PARKS. Unmothafucingreal
@theweez26 He's gonna release it on DVD, it's called Duality Of Sighs. Don't know when he's gonna release it though.
@theweez26 He already did it's called "どういたしまして (You're Welcome)"
@The4thGuy this is the end jam to another song. Can't tell you which it is but the entire full length song would probably be above 8 minutes.
@theweez26 I Think It's The Reason For All The Condenser Mics.
3:13 Master Omar looking over his padawan Deantoni
@MasterShinjy
is there a name for that bit at the end.....the one wit that real groovy riff
@InsAn3DrmmeR
i meant he's already the member of tmv for the next album
Please upload the song before this one. I want to hear Ximena.
@theweez26 CD is already out but dvd i hope so too
@markley90
Lol, me too. My boy called me last night saying that he grabbed us some fungi for the show on Monday. Plus Cedric is joining them. I can't wait.
Where is Miel del Ojo?
tears
@drea6666 He is in Volta Now!!!!!!!
@drea6666 he is :) as of dec 2010
@drea6666 Dave elitch is a good drummer too, but I understand your opinion !!!
holy ballsack the drums

MOMMA!! HERE COME DAT MAN!!!
VACAN!
Where is the resto of the song ?
Best part 1:48-1:58
Does anyone know the names of the band members?
Omar rodriguez-Lopez(guitar), Ximena Sriñana(vocals), Deantoni Parks(drums), Juan Alderete(bass), Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez(keyboard)
+ Lars Stalfors (Sound Manipulator)
drummer is simply amazing. i wish i could think like that haha... anyone know his name?
Deantoni parks
@fob199 You know what, now that I think of it, it might've been part of Lorentz...
oh god, deantoni.... i focused too much on the cd (because of the full version of this song) and other videos but now i rediscovered this. but to the drummers out there: i am not sure... but is he playing 32th or really fucking 64th notes on the hihat in some parts? it really freaks me out and kinda scares me lol
deantoni is sick
lol @ sticker on omar's headstock ;)
question...
is it pronounced deen-tony or dee-antony??
@chawn5 not even close, but he is good.
bah.. of course it gets cut off right before the good part!
FUCKING BLUE BALLS!
correct me if i'm wrong (and i hope i am), i think this specific part of the song was improvised or is currently unreleased. it's a very catchy rhythm
PT's Nil Recurring revamped
@znmpm where?
@drea6666
it's already done
any 1 know a name for this song?
saikodaaaaa
what is the name of this song? anyone knows?
@nicouh 32nd
@samboyaus Day-an-tony or Dee-an-tony.
WHAT. That was it?
КАПИТАЛЬНЫЕ КРАСАВЧИКИ (sorry 4 caps)
whats this drummers name?
DEANTONI . . .
Actually I think he was eyeing Marcel. Just saying.
deantoni's playing sometimes reminds me of chris dave, the main difference is that parks is not that tony williams-ish
still think chris dave is more 'innovative'
tho...
MF DEANTONI
who the fuck disliked this
i am convinced that deatoni is a robot. his neuroprocessor was specifically designed to destroy a drum set. meanwhile he crushes anyones dreams of ever becoming a real drummer. no one can keep up with a fucking robot.
Now, imagine what Pridgen would do with this vamp!!!!!!!
:O
probably play some cheesy bullshit
Y esa cantante que? de donde la sacaste omar? de seguro te la andas picando, deberias poner el talento antes que la calentura, de todos modos excelente musica, ya quiero verte en el vive, pero si vas con esa niñita mejor me voy a ver a moderato
Wajajaja, moderato, rayadango.
All of these would be great without vocals.
