I’m 7 months post op and still progressing. I have found your videos on pain, exercise, and medical information to be informative, entertaining and inspirational during my journey back. Thank you for everything you have done to help all of us out here rehabilitating our total knee replacements.

Thank you. I like when there are cues I can remember like, "Nose over the toes." I'm on day 6 post-op and it is slowly getting better, but wow those first few days I cried a lot.

Hi Julee, thanks for the comment. I have another video that says Day 3 is the worst. I hope you are on the rebound now and you may start feeling better.

Tucker is totally gorgeous! But I digress; thanks for this video. I’ve been looking for a different exercise to try, this is it.

I am so glad I found this channel! I am 8 weeks out for tkr and finally feel like I turned the corner. Wow this has been hard. I do have questions about stationary bikes. In PT I am (finally) able to go all the way around forwards and backwards on the recumbent bike. The gym at work where I will continue rehab after PT ends, there are only upright bikes. They feel way too big for me (I'm 5' 2") and I'm not sure how to make it work. Do you have videos and guidance on bike types? Love your videos and guidance. Thank you.

I am glad you found this channel too.
I have several videos about recumbent bikes. I have had shorter patients and they were not able to comfortably ride some bikes because of the sizing. I have several videos on the channel showing different bike types but honestly you might do best with the smaller Sunny under desk bike or a Cubii depending on your fitness level.

7 months post op and still can't go below parallel. Will step exercises you describe can still improve flexion?

Flexion can always improve. Even once you are past the acute healing process.

Is it common for post-TKA patients to be able to do this from the bottom step?

Hello Tony, I followed your videos after my TKR earlier this year and found them helpful. I now wonder if you can help with advice for my husband who has had bilateral quadriceps tendon repair surgery after snapping both five months ago. He is out of immobilising braces and has started physio but is struggling to get range of motion past 70 degrees. Do you think hydrotherapy would help speed it up? His Consultant has said it could take 12 to 18 months for recovery to normal activity. Prior to the injury he was on a stationary bike every day so really misses that. We live in the UK so things work a little different here but I would appreciate any advice you can give as it is a very distressing situation. Thank you

IMO and a bit off topic but I think the CPM machine is a huge no-no! People get too dependent and just want to lay there while the machine does the work. We need to push ourselves, to challenge ourselves, to improve on our own. I may get flack on this but I really don’t care lol.

You share the views of most surgeons and the clinical research. I would only say that there are still times when a CPM is beneficial and I would hope patients are able to trust their provider to make the recommendation when needed.

I am one who benefited from the CPM machine. I ended up getting sick 4 days into my recovery and I did not have energy enough for working on my own. My knee isn't where it should be after 3 weeks post op but if I did not have the machine I would be worse off
