Thank you for your tutorial. Now I know how to use the 60 degree on my ruler. I like your tutorials. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you. Sandra B.
I like this technique a lot. There are so many promotional tutorials for various special rulers and templates, but some of us have tiny work spaces and/or limited budgets. They tools are pricy and storing all the special tools is not an option for many quilters. Thank you for demonstrating how to use common tools for your projects.
Thanks! Your methods for sewing this make it much less complicated than others I have seen and used. Wish I had seen this before I started my latest hexagon!
I'm still going over past tutorials. Absolutely love this. I have some catching up to do. So happy I've found you! I also like reading the comments. They are very helpful.
Ok I just tried this tonight and my hexagon came out very bumpy. Like it doesn’t really lay flat. I haven’t added the backing or binding yet will that kind of fix it. Do you have any tips? I pressed the seams but maybe did it wrong? Thanks for posting this video, I love the tip to use tape on your ruler and flipping the ruler to cut the triangles. 😊
Try taking in a seam a little bit. The seams may not match up perfectly in the center...that’s ok. These pie shaped pieces stretch very easily and can do that. Hope you can adjust it easily. :)
Moving forward (because I am pretty sure you will make more of these😁) before you cut, starch your fabric well to help reduce the stretching. That tip helped me immensely with stretchy edges. I use either Faultless spray or a heavy solution of liquid Sta-flo in a spray bottle with good results.
Also be very careful when pressing. There are a lot of bias edges that will stretch out very easily. Make sure you use an up and down motion with the iron. Don’t slide it up and down or side to side like when you iron clothes. You want to press not iron. Up and down lifting motion.
Can’t tell you how helpful this tutorial is....for all sorts of reasons🥰. Thank you x
Super helpful on how to use the ruler! Thank you

Wow, very nice. Love it. Quick easy and quilted.
Glad you like it!
Very cute! I was needing this pattern right now for my new table!
Yeah! Happy sewing.
A lovely finish. I made my first one 2 years ago and not as hard as I thought it would be :)
Yep! Pretty easy 🙂
I'll try this.
That's too cute!
Super cute! What’s the finished size at the widest point? Thanks!
approx. 16"
Thank you for sharing. I've been looking for an easy tutorial to make one. I like the tape method. Will it work with strips from the jelly roll.
yes...I think it will. 🙂

How would we enlarge the pattern to make around 30 inch table topper
you could add more strips or just make your strips wider.👌
Será que podem me informar o tamanho de cada faixa e se são cortadas ângulo de 45 graus
I think they were 2 1/2" wide, sewn together and then cut at a 60 degree angle. 👍
How long are your strips ?
Can you use fat quarters to make this?
You can...but I think using a longer strip helps cut the waste of fabric.
How long are your strips?
They are the width of fabric- WOF (approx. 42”) 👌
