- The Chicago Bulls are finally looking to trade Zach LaVine and are seemingly headed towards a rebuild after years of trying the same thing over and over again. The top landing spots include the Sixers, Knicks, Heat, and Lakers, all of whom are in a weird spot to trade for him now. This combined with the fact that his value probably isn't super high puts the Bulls in a weird spot. Let's talk about it.

As absurd as it sounds, but Alex Caruso might actually have more trade value than Zach Lavine considering their contract situation.

Thats the problem with both DD and Zach. Neither are floor generals or team leaders, neither are dirty work guys, neither have an xfactor or needed/unique intanglebles, neither have valued PO experience and any contending team will use them as a most likely 4th oprion and theres just..... so many better options for any reason you have. If salary is an issue, theres better options. If defense is an issue, theres better options. If glue is an issue, theres better options.... like, im not trying to just trash these guys but i cannot think of one team that does not have better options open to them if theyre trading.

I honestly think the Nets should maybe approach him. Simmons is already back on his injury routine the Bulls can create capspace with taking on his contract. The Nets finally get a scorer who can atleast average 25ppg consistenly besides Cam Thomas. They still remain a strong defensive team with bridges, claxton and their wings. And a backcourt of Lavine and Cam thomas is interesting
Golden State package around Wiggins might make sense, not sure what else they are willing to give up, but Kuminga and Wiggins are very similar for this team and they need scoring, no one outside of Steph had scored 20pts+ until Steph missed a game.
Kerr is not a good enough coach to utilize Lavine

Lakers need to learn from the Westbrook trade that they don’t need stars. Just simply have a solid depth and key role players and you’ll be fine.
Going after another star will deplete your depth and yet again set you back another year with picks.

Tbh I think the best situation is Orlando. They have a bunch of young pieces still on rookie contracts and have a lot of pieces. Plus the magics have looked very good early this season and they might finally wanna make an actual push for the playoffs

Lavine works perfectly for the sixers. You need a vet. Zach’s a vet too and offense. You can teach defense. Come playoff time. Maxey and Embiid Arnent gonna be enough realistically
Not sure if LaVine is going to turn into a decent defender at this day and age. If you could, Harden would be able play D also.

Zach just does what Maxey is doing but inconsistently, on higher volume, and with worse playmaking. Just... why.
@@legittaco5899 Exactly. Maxey's skillset makes LaVine redundant, and having them both in lineup, doesn't really add anything as long as the game is played with one ball only.
Having LaVine as possible backup option, in case Maxey's form doesn't last, seems quite expensive regarding both assets, Sixers need to let go for making the trade and also for salary.

I don't think it's worth getting Zach to the Lakers. What the Lakers really need right now from what I see so far is a 3&D and a center that can matchup Jokic, if Lakers do somehow get Zach i think it will somehow mess up their roster and their capspace.

@@MoCartier Getting a Center doesn't necessarily mean to stop Jokic, just like @yuhhtempo said. They can throw more bodies at him with that acquired player playing the center position, while AD returns back to his original position (PF).
I know this has been said alot of times and Jokic is still a little bit unexperienced and young during this time, but look what the 2020 Lakers did. They have Javale and Dwight, bodies to throw in at Jokic while AD can freely roam the perimeter.

OKC fans or ppl in general, when we make a move it wont be for a guard. We have plenty of great guards and we draft guards amazingly well.
When we sign or trade for an impact piece, it will be for a big forward or forward/center, most likely someone who is a close Chet double up.
I was really hoping we'd go after Markenin by last seasons TD but we didnt. And while i would love to have him, at this point, unless he extends by 2 years, i dont see giving value for him, for 1.5 seasons.
Lonzo Ball was the glue that made the bulls a contender. Great movement and playmaking. All downhill after his injury

Yeah I don’t like Zach with the lakers I mean Zach said on undisputed a few years ago when Lebron wasn’t on the lakers like he would like to play for a guy like Lebron but I just don’t like how the trade would have to include rui / dlo / and other pieces and rui looked great last night vs the grizzlies 23 pts and same with dlo 24 pts !
At another UA-cam channel's comments there was a proclaimed Bulls fan, who wanted LaVine and Vuc to be traded to Warriors, but apparently didn't want anything in return.
I'm suspecting that might had Karnisovas with a burner account as you can still probably find ways to make it worse for Bulls.
Just last night I went through the trade machine with the Bulls sending off Lavine, DeMar and Caruso. Caruso went to the Sixers for Melton, a 1st and a 2nd. Then a 3 way trade with Bulls/Magic/Warriors. Magic get Lavine & Carter. Warriors get DeMar and Okeke. Bulls get Klay, Fultz, Ingles, Cole along with 2 unprotected 1st plus 1 lightly protected one.
Respectfully disagree bout the lakers. The main issue with westbrook was he did not fit with the team and was playing horribly as well. Zach would fit into that system much better and with the nuggets dealing with injuries the west is wide open rn. Dlo gives them bad production in the playoffs thats more of a net negative. Rui is replaceable and i think they should probably try nd keep vincent but tbh he hasnt played well for them anyways. Lavine could finally offer Bron that real pressure reliever on offense and he’s a knockdown shooter at his best. It will also allow ad to focus more on defense and they’re less dependent on his night to night scoring. Lakers had the depth last year and got swept by the nuggets. What they need is another player who can take that pressure off Bron so that he can have fresh legs and do more in the playoffs
Alex Caruso would be much better for the Sixers than Lavine
I don’t think you can make assumptions about teams performing well 10 games into the season. It’s a long season. Bringing in a star now would be better than down the road and trying to make up for lost time

LaVine to Raptors makes sense. OG has been playing out of position at shooting guard and Trent was demoted to the bench last year. Siakam hasn't been the guy for the Raptors this season, with Barnes basically taking over his role. The Bulls haven't had a proper power forward in years, so Siakam's 2-way skills could be a nice fit. The Raptors clearly aren't the teardown rebuild type of team, so adding a prime pure scorer like LaVine, one who's already locked into a contract, next to Barnes makes sense. With Schroder at point, the Raptors would have a good defender to pair in the backcourt, which LaVine obviously needs. They maybe could even make it a three team deal with Anunoby going to the Knicks, who is much more the type of player they want rather than LaVine. The Knicks would also have the draft capital to make it all worth the while for the other two teams involved.
Bulls get:
Siakam, Grimes, Fournier, + Pistons 2024 top 18 protected 1st round pick, Wizards 2024 top 12 protected first round pick, Knicks 2024 top 4 protected 1st round pick, and Knicks 2028 1st round pick swap (all picks via Knicks)
Raptors get:
LaVine, Patrick Williams, + Mavs 2024 top 10 protected 1st round pick and Bucks 2025 top 4 protected 1st round pick (both picks via Knicks)
Knicks get
Anunoby and Caruso
Salaries and pick availability verified
To summarize:
*The Bulls switch things up without gutting their roster. They maybe even could improve around their big man duo. They get good draft capital and a star replacement for LaVine. Plus they move on from disappointing former top pick and soon-to-be free agent Williams, replacing him in the lineup with a star. Meanwhile Grimes would be one of a few young guards with upside on the new roster who could take LaVine's minutes and run with them.
*The Raptors are known for developing players, so Williams could still turn into something under their system, at least as a Finney-Smith type player who could complement Barnes at forward. LaVine, of course, gives them that steady scorer, while he can be surrounded by the defensive players he needs to succeed. He's also locked in contract-wise. This also allows them to move on from Siakam's contract situation.
*The Knicks obviously need to shake things up, and they would get two perfect fitting players without giving up any current stars or future top 4 picks. Anunoby's stats are down a bit, which might be the perfect chance to snag the player they were rumored to be interested in last season. Caruso would be a great complementary piece as well in the Knicks' system.

I actually made a mistake in my analysis, since the pick swap from the Knicks would be unprotected and theoretically could become a top 4 pick..Meanwhile, OG is having a down year and the Raptors are gonna be facing some pressure to give him a big extention

The only reason the bulls are in this position is bc they don’t have lonzo and the true value of Lavine maybe a little hidden. Lonzo is a winner naturally which helps all players he play with. Lavine with Lebron/ad is probably more dangerous then this video depicts Lavines value.
Personally, if the rumors that D Mitch does not plan to sign an extension and still wants to go to New York… then I’d love to see the cavs send him to Chicago for Lavine. Yes I know it wouldn’t make sense at all for Chicago, as Mitchell still leaves and they probably don’t get much of anything else aside from him, but for Cleveland? Go get Lavine.
Tyler Herro is basically a better defender and passer than Zach and is younger and cheaper version with more upside.

Any team seriously showing interest in zach are not winning the championship, his contract is too big for contenders and dude has never had an winning mindset. Caruso however is an elite roleplayer that fits among many teams with an minor 10M

I saw flashes of potential with him but like most of the league he’s garbage in terms of intangibles and awareness. He gets lost on defense, is a chukker, makes the dumbest late game decisions and is basically d-lo with hops. Why would you even bring up okc grabbing this guy, they never would at that contract rate. I see whoever has some injuries to a two or three tier player possibly taking him on.

I think best fit would be the thunder. Giddey kinda steps on the toes of everyone else, and he can’t shoot. Swap Lavine for giddey so OKC goes straight into contending with a great young core.

As a bulls fan, they shouldnt completely tear it down, trade Derozan, Vucevic if you have to, and build around Zach solely, thats how you show him your trust him as a number 1, make him the number 1
