Thank you for all the wonderful memories, as a 17 year old in 1987 I started my journey with this incredible band, I am now 52 years old, lucky enough to see them perform in Cape Town in the early 90's , my journey with them still continues. Love and respect always.
Ian my son is 39yrs old and I first saw ub40 in the early 80s and I was pregnant with my son but I didn't know and they were playing in my home town Edinburgh and they were fricking brilliant and my son loves Ali's voice and at the concert I was at my brother and his pals had been having a few joints and I was floating with the fumes from everyone who was at the concert and that goes for the band as well fricking great night then when astro done his lyrics on red red wine the whole place were singing with him and the fact I was pregnant and didn't know and now my son is a grown man and still loves the music and Ali's voice must take his good taste in music from his mum lol and rip astro pure legend xxx
Donald totally agree with you his voice never changes and I would know his voice anywhere it's pure class big love to Ali and the rest of the guys on stage with you
Ub40 is Ali and the ub40 band 😭😭😭 Ali is one of a kind ♥️ Ub40 band is one of a kind ♥️ I hate! hate! hate! Seeing them apart.. I love Ali.. I love the band.. anyone else feel something is missing? Like the UB40 vibe, the UB40 smile between Ali and the original band 😣😣 The chemistry between “UB40” Ali owns that stage no different to the original musicians 😭😭😭 But we are blessed to have forever access to UB40 music ♥️ And without a shadow of a doubt I’d still go and watch both Ali and the UB40 musicians but something is definitely missing.. Ali’s connection with the original band was out of this world ♥️ And vice versa.
I always remember my older brother who died in 1990 at only 18yr old but 2 me he was much older with all his tattoos took his own life, But the reason I tell this is anytime I tried 2 play my Duran Duran albums I'd get a root up the hole and he'd stick on UB40 😂😂 So I had no choice in the early 80ees but 2 listen 2 them and grew 2 luv them, Always remember he missed them in concert and he was like a demon but I saw them here in Dublin few yrs ago and as soon as they played Kingston town it was the first time I actually felt close 2 my brother since his passing wuld of been 25yr on from his passing... I still have all his UB40 albums the most precious been Signing off I was brought up on the old classic ub40 not a big fan of labour of love and so on first one is ok but the older stuff... Just thought I'd share my UB40 memories and all my brother's mates always said he was way ahead of his time pity he was so easily led👍🇮🇪🇮🇪

Ali Campbell, you are no longer UB40 or part of it. You voluntarily left the Official UB40 back in 2008. How can you still claim to be UB40 when you left the Official UB40 band back in February 2008. Ali Campbell, you need to stop deliberately misleading the fans by claiming to be something that you no longer part of.
That is a voice that is extremely unique. Too bad the brothers can't settle their differences. Ali is UB40, but the brothers together would be unstoppable. And he's still chewing gum ALL the time. LOL!!!!
If this is ub40 were is the rest of them.this is the dep band..ali only uses the ub name cause he couldn't sell tickets for his solo gigs wen he left ub40...

It all went sour in the end for ub40. Shame they were so close I grew up in same area as them in Birmingham Danced many a night to them round the pubs of Birmingham. @The Padded Cell Aww bless. UB40, since Ali had it away on his toes, thinking he was bigger than the band, have continued to produce original material, whilst Ali has done nothing much more than become a piss poor tribute act. A man way past his sell by date. UB40 are a much better and stronger band without him.
