Hey Chris, thanks. I really appreciate that. I never watch any of the other walking channels so I'll take your word on it. :) I am in Rome right now...in an uber back to my car...but just finished a 3 hour evening walk. It wasn't supposed to be this long...but..I just kept walking. I filmed a bike ride around Rome during the day. I hope all is well.
The fish market is so busy, noisy, and abundantly full of beautifully displayed fish. I loved the chopping sounds. I've never seen more beautifully displayed fruit and vegetable markets. Its good to see all the activity even while mask are on most shoppers. Thanks.
Greetings from Pittsburgh. I love your videos. I have watched so many during this quarantine. Thank you for this amazing video. In America, our mega grocery stores do not even have 10% of the variety that I see in this clip. In stores like Walmart all the food is in processed and in boxes or frozen. You cannot even buy a cabbage. There is only one aisle of fresh food. I have friends that have never bought a fish.
Lawrence, while I shared you admiration for the abundance and variety at the Catania market, I have to wonder where you shop. Every grocery store I have ever been to in Washington Sate, New York State, North Carolina AND Pennsylvania have a variety of fresh fish, meats, produce etc. Saying that you cannot even buy cabbage has to prompt any reader to wonder what in the world you are referring to. Can't find cabbage? Strange comment.
Yes Lawrence, that a very ancient outside market. It's somehow like arabian folk open market and itsn't strange cause, you know about one thousand years ago, Sicily was dominated by arabians and it's as an heritage of that civilization
Because Pittsburgh is a 💩 hole. Come up over to NEPA where we still have Italian/Sicilian communities that have all these markets, fish, pastas, etc Scranton has Festa Italiana every year. It would blow your mind. No need to travel as far as Sicilia... 😉
The sounds of the street market are so wonderful 🥰 to hear. Unfortunately There aren’t any such markets where I have been living for so many years. To see the activities and hear all of the sounds of the people and vendors is magical!!! It transports me to my childhood. So sad that so many videos on UA-cam mask the sounds of people with music. Thank you Prowalk Tours for such great videos.
SO many familiar faces. Catania is a wonderful place. I have enjoyed much time there over the last 10 years. It is sad to see it so empty but it will come back! I feel completely transported (and hungry now, too!). Thank you.

Ciao Francesco, you are very welcome. My Italian is not very good unfortunately. I have been living in Naples for the last six years but I am from Washington State back in the US. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I hope to make it back down there again at some point.
I went to Catania last year but only for a few hours and I loved it and wanted to come back to a proper visit ever since. Now, with all that's going on, this is the better way I can think of to do that. When I found your channel, I was wondering if you were Italian, visiting your own country and sharing with all of us, but thanks to the 'nice limoncello guy' from Sorrento I now know you are from Seattle 😉 Thanks for sharing and keep'em coming!!
Si e' vero!. Non c'è più tanta gente. Con i grandi super mercato vendono tutto ! .

Hey Dave, thanks! Yeah, it's kind of exciting. It's just nice to know so many people enjoy the walks. Last night I filmed a 3-hour 6--mile walk through Rome from 6:30 to 9:30. I filmed a 23 mile bike ride around Rome earlier in the day. I am aching today! :)...but I think you will all enjoy it...and so it's worth it. :)...plus it was fun to bike around Rome all day. Thanks for always supporting the channel and leaving regular comments. I like this Prowalk Tours Group of fans. I'm working on the full Catania walk right now. It is almost 4 hours. I hope all is going well on your end. The covid numbers are rising here unfortunately. I know Italy is going to do everything they can to not shut down again.
Another walk to a place I was supposed to return to this year but not able to do so. When I was there 9 years ago it was pouring rain the 3 days so didn't get to see much and the fish market was only under the arches and the covered hall. Thanks for the video another great one. I hope you do a full turn around the elephant to show what addition the city fathers had put on the statue.
