- TRIUMPH FAN QUESTION: "Gil, I would like to hear your thoughts, with the perspective of 20/20 hindsight and experience, about the RCA lawsuit in the early 80s. All we heard about was that the label (RCA) never got behind the album (Never Surrender), the reports of no copies in the stores, etc. Then the band took RCA to court, and lost.
Looking back, given 30 years of experience to colour your response, what went on? Rik stated he wasn't fully supportive of this decision. You of course landed at MCA, and released 'Thunder 7' what did you think then, and for fun, what would 'Gil Now', go back and tell 'Gil Then'"

As a fan, my first thought was, "Yeah, but you got 'Thunder Seven' to show for it and that might not have happened otherwise!" But the fellow human in me says, "No, I'd rather you guys were spared the hardship of the whole situation and never have had 'Thunder Seven'." Having said all that, some of the greatest art has come out of the worst situations. Happy New Year 2023!
hey Gil, i am a avid fan and i just want to know why Triumph doesn't tour anymore? i meant you guys were- still are- the greatest rock band ever! I am 19 years old and i just wish Triumph would tour just one more time!
all Triumph fans want that. But the reality is as one of them said they are at different points in their lives where it may not be possible....Rik Emmett tours solo...Gil Moore has Metalworks Studio/School of Broadcasting and Mike Levine is enjoying life away from the stage.
Great singer!
I never knew much of Gil when watching Triumph but greatly respect him now. Thanks Gil never stop interviews your insights are priceless. Your School Rocks you are having a charmed life.
You signed a "Just a game' album for me at RCA plant in Indianapolis 1982.
Thanks for the thoughts....Veeeery cool to hear stuf like this straight from the three guys !!! Really hope the three of you have an idea of how many and how deeply your music has touched soooo many people over the years....All your songs are on my iPod and still are incredible !! Thx guys !!!
Still have the original LP - I guess i'm lucky with lack of copies out there at the time.
I love how humble Gil is in this clip
Never Surrender was the first Triumph album I bought. Awesome album! Great tour.
Hi Gil!! You rock!!! Were not worthy!!! lol
When I look at what music (Triumph, Rush, April Wine, etc.) was when I was a kid, (chronologically I am of an age with the guys in Triumph) their not being around today as a viable alternative to the wasteland which is music today, is why I made the decision to stop going to concerts. I refuse to go to "has been" shows. I live with the memories. Music today sucks!!!!! Think otherwise? Take a goood look at what the offerings on iTunes are! Hip Hop? that sounds like something that somebody did in a porn movie strung out on a cocktail of the worst hallucinagins known to mankind!!!!!
