Cleanest subway in the world 😏
I guess you are being sarcastic
You wish!!! 🤣🤣🤣
The love I have for stockholms subways is unmatched
For $2.90, you can go anywhere, 24 hours a day. Good luck anywhere else.
Lmao this is hilarious! Although it isn’t nearly as extensive or convenient as the nyc subway, i really appreciate having the DC Metro. It’s pretty clean, the signs actually work, and the trains run on time usually. I do wish it covered more of the city though /:
The DC metro is 50 years younger and less than a Quarter of the Size
@@IndustrialParrot2816 DC subway. Still below international standards
true, it’s the 1st subway system in the world that never got an update
The sarcasm of New Yorkers. 😂
Don’t forget. Every time you inside the subway platform, there’s a lottery chance of someone random pushing you to the track 😂! The more you ride, the better your chances of winning!
No, just never stand dangerously close to the tracks, it's that simple.
The DC metro isn’t nearly as extensive as the NYC subway, but the stations are large, pretty, and normally well maintained. It’s also very east to use, even for tourists.
Doesn't run 24/7 though. When I moved to northern VA I took the metro into DC to avoid paying for parking, walked around the city hit a couple bars, then on my way back home I realized I couldn't get in the metro. Had to pay for an expensive ass Uber back to VA.
Overall, I liked DC's metro, but I found the stations to be kind of dark and cold looking because they were just unfinished concrete.
I'll take any other metro over NYC's omg!
@@Lv-nq9qz the exposed brutalist DC subway tunnels definitely match the vibe of DC as a dark, authoritarian, evil place.
Like her sense of humour 😂
I strongly recommend looking up the video of this guy in the subway throwing a coffee on this bloke in a suit’s head while it was moving. Hilarious AF
That sign is in simlish! I'm not kidding, I think I've seen that in The Sims 4
Nyc residents love this type of thing.

The best smell goes to the r62 hvac
watch your videos for many years and had some much great advice. Love the reels, such a lovely take on that amazing city. OK Prices are a little crazy these days but just love the place. such an experience every time.

As someone who lives in nyc… BLOWS MY MIND that people consider it “the greatest city on the planet” and “I love New York” is the motto. Or why they call it “the city that never sleeps” cus stuff actually closes so early it’s crazy.
As a New Yorker, it is the city that never sleeps. Go to any other place in America and stuff will close much earlier. I don’t know about overseas though
@@djk1563 so in new York shops bars pubs restaurants and offices all are open all night?

Portugal and budapest have some GREAT metro systems! They're cheap, decently clean and almost always on time. I would definitely recommend using them when visiting :>
Some of the trains and their infrastructures in these countries are made and built by China.

The NYC Subway system in most times is reliable..As a Brooklynite who grew up in Gravesend and now lives in Sheepshead Bay have alternate ways to Coney Island and that is the B36 bus.
When it comes to the Subway I miss the old trains such as the R40 modified R40 Slant R32 and others. The oldest trains in the Subway is the R46 still my favorite. and I grew up going on them ( F Train Avenue X) Now I take the B or Q at Sheepshead Bay. .
Foamer!
Want to address and make excuse for the other issues she brings up? Born and raised here too, its a dirty embarrassment of a metro system with old technology.
@FOH999
Going on the trains . A dirty embarrassment .Yes I agree when the train smells and is disgusting. Move to another car .The car number down and report it when you get off to a Station agent. Since I'm a train fan or railfan I take the model of the train down as well. If you see something report it.
Yes the empty cars are empty, for some reason🤢🤮😂
Thank you Mable
the guy jumping the barrier at the end is off to commit more crime inside the subway
Or just out of money/not feeling like paying. Do you know how many people jump turnstiles? Far from all do it to commit crimes within the system.
The lack of Petersburg and Moscow in the list 😆

St.Petersburg is a baby system though...
I came here to say this.
It's a strategy. She's keeping them a secret because they're the real best in the world.
@@julierowe1732 Probably are, too.
Clean, efficient, safe, cheap. And, ornate. Tourist attractions in their own right.
Moscow system is still expanding too. Massive.
@spencerburke idk, 5 lines and 72 stations isn't tiny. It's not the Moscow underground or the New York metro, sure, but it's not baby on the level of the Glasgow metro either
Delhi Metro is pretty good too. Not many foreigners come to India so they never find out, but it really is rather good. ❤
Your country gets swamped with Western tourists yearly mostly going to the Taj Mahal.
@@davidtyler-ul9vw I wouldn't say swamped. On a comparative basis it's quite lower than much smaller countries like Thailand, UAE, Vietnam etc.
Also the Taj Mahal thing is very played out by now. India has so much to offer but we don't do a good job creating a supporting infrastructure and cleanliness.
Things changing though. Slowly. Hopefully we rise up.
@@rudranil06I am from Spain, I wouldn't recommend focusing in tourism xd. We have too much tourism it's bad for locals
@@TheJuanjo234 Spain and India are in two very different boats. Spain is a high income country and India is a lower middle income country. We need the tax revenue and the business if we are to rise up. ❤️
@@rudranil06 Spain was a lower income country and one of the things that helped Spain rise up is Tourism. The problem here is that tourism is variable and it create low pay shitty jobs. It is way better focus the resoruces in improving the industry rather than tourism. Tourism is good in short terms but bad in long terms.
Not enough people talk about Santiago's metro, I can say that it's so good we rely on it 99.9% of the time, which is a double edged sword sometimes because if anything happens in any of the lines the entire city will notice there's something going on, it was praised a lot during the panam games last year. I personally use buses more because they are mostly empty and I can sit and there are no stairs but if I'm in a hurry, metro is always the safest option in Santiago
I'm glad you made this video I thought it was just me who found it complicated when I was on holiday there from England
Never been more grateful for New Delhi metro. You can basically get anywhere and it will at max take an hour.
What if there is accident? Because the train system in Japan can also halt for hours when there is accident even a minor accident
Sarah you so hit it on the nail 😂
American exceptionalism at its best! Number one!
"And to all these cities, why don't you step it up and get on our level?"
Singapore, a country🗿
Singapore's train systems are leagues above anything in the usa.
Wa
Singapore, Asia. Hurmm not long time ago it’s Temasik, Johor Darul Takzim.
Remember, it’s over 150 years old 😅
Many ones in Europe like berlin or London is very old and is way better, like London subway who is older (160 years old) yet far better. Europe is just better ig
The London Underground is older, yet most agree it’s a much nicer system to use 🤷
Didn’t the first line (Lex?) start in 1904?
PS I see that some above ground IRT sections apparently were already in operation by 1885. So I stand self-corrected.
You need to subtract the time the lines are in maintenance. Corrected age is somewhere between 5 and 10 years.
Almost had me at the beginning 😂
I went to New York once with my girlfriend. When we were looking at the map, visibly speaking French, the whole wagon stood up and helped us get to the aquarium. New Yorkers are a different breed.
MTR after Watching this:
we have the best transport system in the world
the only thing the MTA has over MTR is the 24/7 train service. Last year I was in NYC and after being spoiled by the MTR growing up in HK I hated the NYC subway. It is so insane how poorly it is maintained. The MTR charges way cheaper prices usually, depending on the distance, and even ignoring what they make from property, they make like 200% of their train operating costs back
I’ve been to NYC as a tourist many times, and the only scary experience I’ve ever had was when I got lost on the subway by going too far outbound at 2 am. I completely misread the map and had to wait at a desolate spot (pre-smartphone) for the trains to start again.
