6:26 would have loved him to have provided a few extra words to explain that he thinks parents should have sole control over their child's LGBT+ inclusive education.
But even then it would have been weird to tweet that under a video of people getting violent over a school board voting to designate June pride month.
His tweet is the classic knee jerk response of someone who had reached the end of his tether with this issue (LGBTQ matters in education), and spoke rashly, but hadn't stopped to check whether he was responding sensitively or even appropriately to the issue.
Expressing himself that way is a bit of a red flag for wilful ignorance and self-righteous disapproval, which are themselves red flags for bigotry.
He did what so many bigots do, which is to reject an idea flatly and reactively without offering an alternative for how to enact it.
He just said 'no' and kept left us all to presume that he thought the idea was unacceptable in its entirety.
He also engaged with the video of the protest in the way so many bigots do, by making a statement so under-relevant to the content of it that he appeared to have been waiting forever to say it and only needed the slightest nudge to be pushed into posting his rash take.
It's not world ending stuff. But he did act beneath his own dignity if he was not trying to bolster the arguments of bigots or come across as one.

I can understand where you’re coming from. it would be best if he had said more on the matter in my opinion, at least showing some support if he did “care”. As I mentioned his tweet is a common response from most people who tend to be bigoted which is why there was a massive uproar. The situation could have been handled properly for sure, but knowing who he is from my experiences of watching him hard to believe he’d take a homophobic stance, based on what he believes in “peace and love”. However, many preach that and only apply that to their circle so who knows I guess.

      @@Rushmeed I hear that.
I think sometimes people react really strongly to statements like these because of the expectations we have of public people to have a certain quality of character. I think sometimes public people forget that they are unintentionally (or intentionally) becoming archetypes for good character so when they step outside of a perceived remit for 'goodness', their onlookers become dissapointed...
We could all do with having lower expectations of famous people tbh.

0:52 Protest was against the school board voting to assign June as Pride month as they had done the previous 3 years.
