Top of the Pops 1000th Edition Opening

On 5th May 1983, Top of the Pops hit a big milestone, reaching its 1000th edition. Numerous DJs who had presented the programme over the years returned to present this special edition. The special episode saw the launch of an updated opening title sequence, and the introduction of a new TOTP set, that would last into the late 1980s. Richard Skinner, David Jacobs and Jimmy Savile open the 1000th edition of the show.
