Coming from a fellow Geordie, our friend here has a broad accent! Only jesting - what a fantastic, comprehensive tutorial. Just perfect. Haway the lads man!
This safe to say that the Bae146 and the Fokker F28 are definitions of giving you hands on flying although the F28 is definitely hands on since it’s an aircraft with no systems like the Bae146, but with this to come to the Fokker soon I’m sure of, it will be nice but it doesn’t mean it’s like PMDG or Fenix where everything was done automatically in the computer, everything is all hands on still, I love this! Just Flight brings the quality of what study level needs to be
This 146 even surpasses 737NGs from PMDG as my fav all around airliner. Excellent tutorials, EFB, AP, and all functions always worked perfect even on Xbox. And I look at a coffee pot in galley w no lights, switch off SHED in cockpit, coffee lights up- I turn on and hit brew- back to setting up in cockpit and I hear percolating sounds in my surround right speaker minute later- UNREAL IMMERSION! Just Flight has become my fav 3rd party dev easily!
Superb aircraft! I think this is the best aircraft in MSFS2020 - an aircraft everybody should own. This is study level at the highest level - and a very very nice aircraft to fly. My very best recommendations!😀
Great video thanks! Anyone else having issues where the UNS freezes the weather radar & map? I’ve noticed this happens once the arrival airport is inputted
Really liking the way this unit operates. Very logical and that's a great VNAV page! I don't have the BAe because it's a bit too old school for me with the gauges, but I'm ANXIOUSLY awaiting the RJ series. Do they use this same FMS unit?
Nice to see this update to one of my favorite planes. Is the 'classic' UNS more capable then than modern FMS for GPS navigation? It seems so at first glance, and since the previous FMS was based on the working title mod, I assume it has not been updated.
Very nice vid, easy to follow with lots of useful info. Can't wait to take her up today which I will no doubt cock up 😁 I love this jet and I don't fly her enough, I hope to rectify that.
Is there no option to automatically load a flight plan in directly from Simbrief without needing to do the download process? This method seems pretty outdated, most devs provide direct Simbrief integration these days.
you can use simbrief downloader and point to flightplan folder of bae146, after you hit Generate .rte file will be stored and be ready for UNS. Its described in manual of JF BAE146 UNS1
@@roskud0518 thanks, yeah, I know how to use the Simbrief downloader, but I thought we had moved past that when PMDG added their EFB. Messing about with external files is a step backwards. It's what we used back in P3D and FSX. I don't understand why they couldn't just integrate the aircraft with Simbrief the way all other devs have done
@@musefan12345 If you use the modern FMS, you can import your Simbrief FP by going in the Route Menu from the second page of Index Tab. Unfortunately, the new Classic FMS doesn't do that. Going back from modern to classic FMS does not provide the flight plan if you try the import from the modern view before. Maybe in a futur version.
@@SporadicallySane Stop being a twat, and accept the fact that times move on and we have easier ways of doing things. All I did was raise a query regarding the importing of flight plans to match that of other devs. But it's quite funny to see that it annoyed you enough to make a cutting reply 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Do you have any plans to extend the unit with a direct Simbrief download, or maybe integrate a "push to FMS" function in the EFB directly, instead of going through manual or automatic file downloads?
The Ver-2 UNS1 is a great addition, however it breaks the MSFS flight modes starting cold and dark. Once a departure runway is selected Direct To or VOR to VOR flight following is no longer an option in the ATC window. Only IFR requests are accepted. It doesn't work properly either. Climb and maintain zero feet...lol. If you go to EFB and select the modern FMS this issue goes away. I hope ya'll are able to fix this.
Yep, ideally you buy direct from us but understand why people choose the MP option. We have asked them to push this though so hopefully it'll be part of next week's releases.
One question: is it actually realistic to work with GPS waypoints in the flightplan? I thought the 146 did only do VOR navigation. Thanks in advance for letting me know, want to do it as realistic as possible with this amazing plane 😊
certainly needed to navigate gps waypoints, like the usual sid or star have, and fly airways that have rnav waypoints. the 146 was in use until very recently (for example swiss out of zuerich) and therefore had to deal with rnav navigation.
The UNS-1 was created for hte precise purpose of navigating to GPS waypoints. You are perhaps getting confused with early RNAV units, like that fitted to the Black Square planes, that simply sequence VOR-derived way points. The UNS-1 as a complete unit, consists of the head unit (what we see in the cockpit) a navigation computer (in the avionics bay) and a powerful GPS receiver. The way that was shown in this video is exactly how the UNS-1 is used. As well as the 146, the other most common application for the UNS-1 is in the early DeHavilland Dash 8 aircraft (DHC8-100, 200 and -300). It was also fitted to some Boeing 727 aircraft, at theeir mid life point in the late 90s.
You have to keep in mind, that the BAe 146s were delivered without any FMS at first from 1983 on (I mean the RL aircraft). The UNS-1 FMS was an Upgrade some airlines ordered later, but not all the features were implemented. If you like a more comfy FMS with much more functionalty in the aircraft, you should wait for the Avro RJ Version. Like the RL Avro RJ, it was a improved BAe 146 with new avionics and more FMS integration than in the old BAe's.
ILS functions are working in the BAe already - and will be available in the Avro too, of course. RNAV in concerns of lateral navigation will be fine with the Avro (but also the optional FMS in the BAe can keep tracks, so...) But don't expect a working VNAV (= the AP does the vertical work for you)! No, neither the BAe nor the Avro ever had a capable VNAV system. That's not a JustFlight thing, the real AC simply didn't have the tech. We will get a VNAV guidance with the Avro, so you can see the indicator for your vertical profile, but you have to follow it manually (by pitch). But honestly, VNAV isn't a thing at all in RL. It's only important for some simmers. Boeing pilots can rely on their VNAV function. A study said, that around 70% of 737 pilots use VNAV. And about 20% of these, even use it below 10K ft until the IAF. No Airbus pilot I know uses the'managed descent' mode in RL, only in complicated airspaces with lots of FL restrictions. But for most cases, they use VS in 'open descend' mode.
That was never going to be the case. If you want these updates as soon as they are available you need to buy direct from us. The update files have gone to MS but it's now down to them to get the product updated and live. Likely to be next Thursday we hope. We have requested that, we shall see. We have made that as clear as possible in previous messages to the public. Hope that helps.

Does the bae-146 have wing flex because whenever I do a flight on it, it seems like it doesnt or is the wing just stiff like that?

The UNS 1 is still kicking about today. So I won't have to guess yes. It would be an option to the RJ

Yes, the UNS-1's FP is shown on the weather radar, in Map mode.

It’s available from just flights website if your on PC I would presume it will be on marketplace tomorrow (Friday)
