- I colorized, restored and created sound design for this video of New Version of stunning dashcam footage from a trolly car in 1931 shows the picturesque Leipzig, Germany. follows through the city, creating a truly immersive atmosphere. Many of the old buildings we see no longer exist today. In the video, there are hardly any cars on the streets, as many people are walking or cycling.
Video Restoration Process:
✔ FPS boosted to 60 frames per second
✔ Image resolution boosted up to HD
✔ Improved video sharpness and brightness
✔ Colorized only for the ambiance (not historically accurate)

B&W Video Source: According to the Leipzig City Museum, the original film of this tram ride through old Leipzig was made to train tram drivers.

My dad was 6 years old and my mother was 1 year away from being born at this time… both are gone now so it’s nice to see how things were back then
Leipzig ist meine Geburts- und Heimatstadt. Obwohl ich jetzt nicht mehr in Deutschland lebe, habe ich immer wieder mal Heimweh nach ihr. Vieles habe ich wieder erkannt, was noch nach dem Krieg erhalten geblieben ist. Ich habe festgestellt, dass die Menschen damals viel entspannter waren und die Stadt viel sauberer, wie ich sie kenne. Ich hätte mich sehr gefreut, wenn die Straßenbahn in Richtung Eutritzsch gefahren wäre, denn in diesem Stadtteil bin ich aufgewachsen. ❤

Working people, bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, interesting architecture, streets in excellent condition, trees, and so on. Quite an interesting city to work and live in.

One of the major sights I enjoy on these fantastic remastered videos it the views of the downtown area and the lack of automobiles and motorcycles. The streetcar was the major means of getting from Point A to Point B. Fantastic remastered film. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!
