      That's not true... In Bavaria, you get the first aid training for free at school. And normaly, the check of your eyes, cost nothin' as well. But both are required, of corse...

      @@melchiorvonsternberg844 the "Führerschein-Sehtest" specifically for the purpose of obtaining the driving licence isn't free. Though not expensive, either.
      And as for the First Aid course, a proper 1st aid course is absolutely free, but the shortened "Sofortmaßnahmen am Unfallort" (emergency measures at the accident site" does cost a few bucks. That the former is free is supposed to be an incentive for people to learn First Aid - after all, it is veyr much in the public interest to have as many people as possible familiar with First Aid.

    3000 Euro are 279656 Rupee. Yes it is expensive, and can go up to 4000 euro, depending on how long someone needs to pass. When I had my drivers licenses in 1996, it was 1000 German Mark (around 500 Euro). But it is also understandable that it is so expensive: the driving instructors want to earn good money (life is expensive in Germany), the car costs money, insurance, petrol, examiners, exams, materials, night driving. The driving school can last 4-8 weeks (approx. 3-6 hours per week), or sometimes even longer. Driving school and driving tests are a serious and very precise matter in Germany. At this level, you could already be trained as an airplane pilot in the USA. ;-)

      The point is: The very high standards for obtaining the German driver’s license are one important reason why we have fewer lethal car accidents and can still afford to have parts of the autobahn without explicit speed limits…

      No, the PPL needs at least 4-6 weeks full time training (with full time training, you can make the driving license in 2 weeks), with normal part time training it takes 6-12 months.

    my driver licence was in 2010/2011 with 1600 euro very cheap. I can drive both, Gear shift and automatic. That's stupid. As long as you have not taken a test, you are not allowed to drive a car, so you have already committed an offence with your own car when you drive to the test.

    When I got my driver's license for cars and motorcycles more than 40 years ago, both licenses cost just under 1100DM (550€). During my time in the Bundeswehr I got my truck driver's license, which was done full-time with 8 hours of instruction per day over a period of about 6 weeks. Civilian driver's licenses were not valid with the Bundeswehr, so I had to redo the driver's license for the motorcycle there, which meant an additional 2 weeks of full-time training. However, you also drove a lot on unpaved terrain, which was an advantage for vehicle control on the road as well. Today's prices and the high number of "compulsory hours" are somehow pure money-making. In any case, today's novice drivers can't drive any better.

    A driving license in Germany is an absolute luxury for the average person and many people do without it.
    A driving license costs around 600 to 1000 euros in Poland and the Czech Republic, and around 900 to 1300 in Italy. The average prices in Belgium and France are a little more expensive, but still significantly cheaper than in Germany. A driving license costs between 1700 and 1900 euros there.

    • @arthur_p_dent
      @arthur_p_dent Місяць тому +2

      whether a licence is "luxury" in Germany depends of where you live. If you live in a big city, it very much is that. If you live in rural areas with little or no public transport, it is essential.

    It is expensive but is there a price tag on your lives safety? how much is too much to be as safe as possible? according to the WHO, on the list of traffic deaths per 100k citizens, Germany has 4.1/100k whilst India has 22.6/100k, to help with perspective, the USA has 12.4/100k so... numbers don't lie, right?

      @srccde Місяць тому +1

      The increase in costs doesn't correlate with increased safety. 10 years ago, when I did my license, I paid 2000€ for car and motorcycle licenses. Since then, the costs for even one license has doubled. Would you say that safety has also doubled?

    • @raistormrs
      @raistormrs Місяць тому

      @@srccde the pricing in itself is a market issue, higher prices in general, fewer schools than before and close to full capacity in those around, we would need more driving schools for the prices to drop a little. then there is the technical side to it, to become a driving instructor, you need to complete a training that costs €12k+, the costs of courses and licenses have doubled, that's political by the way. between 2021 and 2023 around 300 driving school have closed their doors in NRW alone. in january 2024 a study found germany to be short more than 10k driving teachers and 5k heavy vehicles teachers. is the picture painting itself for you?

    I had paid 1,600 euros for my car driver's license in 2019, and just under 2,000 euros for my driver's license for light trucks in 2022. Then in 2020 another 1,400 euros were added for the motorcycle driver's license. In January, I will get my driver's license for the big trucks, which will cost me another 2,000 to 2,500 euros.
    It's not all cheap, but if you move on roads where vehicles move at well over 300km/h, a very good education is necessary.
