I would start withh rewritung 7^(x+5) to 7^(2+(x+3)):
7^(x+3)+7^(x+5)=50
7^(x+3)+7^(2+(x+3))=50
7^(x+3)+7^2*7^(x+3)=50
7^(x+3)*(1+7^2)=50
7^(x+3)*(49+1)=50
7^/x+3)*50=50
7^(x+3)=1
7^(x+3)=7^0
x+3=0
x=--3
