I can't speak to the worst crime I've ever committed [the statute of limitations might not have run out yet, I'd have to check] But my father ROUTINELY drove drunk. Multiple times with me in the car. I distinctly remember one time, being five, he asked for something from the cooler that was tucked in front of me. [yes a five year old in the front passenger seat, no car seat] I said "you're not supposed to drink and drive" something my mother told me. He told me "Oh, this is just adult pop" Five year old me thought "Well you are thirty one years older than me, you know better" and gave him his PBR Welp... he drove off the road into the ditch. I can't recall if police showed up, I just remember being physically tossed into the back seat just in case. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
The old times sure were crazy, even if crimes back then wasn't as broadly recognized as it is today. I remember my parents telling me once about how a relative in their grandparents' generation got locked into a windmill and had it set on fire by an apparently jealous neighbor of his, burning him alive.
Oh man, I wish I had seen this thread! My mom’s first cousin, Donna, was a very paranoid person who thought her son, Ramsey, was going to kill her. So she poisoned his food until he died, and then bought a chainsaw and cut up his body into several pieces. She tied each piece up in a trash bag and dumped them along a highway. They eventually caught her and had enough video evidence and such to convict her. I believe she’s serving a life sentence now! There’s even a Snapped episode about her: Donna Scrivo
Oooh I got a good one! So, as a child my parents once told me that my uncle was getting a divorce with his wife, and from that day I never heard from my aunt again. Didn't change too much in my life, especially since they didn't tell me what happened to cause this. Many years later my mother tells me what happened. So, apparently, my aunt used to be a judge. Due to the thing she did that I'll explain a little later in the post, my uncle wanted to divorce her, but she then took their kids with her and threatened to never let him see them again unless my grandparents paid her a lot of money, which they ended up doing (my grandfather then proceeded to have no less than three heart attacks due to the stress; he survived for the better part of two decades after that and only passed away a couple of years ago). However, this blackmail is nothing compared to what's coming. Why did my uncle want to divorce her? As previously mentioned, she used to be a judge and abused her power to protect a cult leader and sexual predator she was having an affair with, which got her disbarred once it became known. This didn't happen in an English speaking country, so you won't find the story by googling it in English, but I did check it out in my mother-tongue and, indeed, I found the article talking about the events, going as far as mentioning her full name, so I know for sure it's her.
rSlash: Man, we're only three posts into this thread, and this has gotten really dark, really fast. Also rSlash: [chooses which stories to read, and in which order to read them]
It always surprises me how open people are about such stuff on the Internet. As if it can't bite them back later at some point (which even later turns into another reddit story at TIFU 😬).
I guess the clause of reddit posts having to be anonymous or not including identifying information, gives people a sense of confidence. But yeah, I suppose if someone really needed to, they could check IP addresses or cross examine their other posts. On the other hand, for this particular thread, it sounds like a lot of the crimes were prosecuted, dismissed, or happened decades ago; or the accused or accessories have passed. So they have that advantage
Right? What if those people see the post about their missing 2story cow? I'm sure they could subpoena information from Reddit for the right price 🤷♀️ not to mention he literally posed with the cow so that's enough evidence right there
The flipped over car story reminded me of something my dad said he did with his buddies when they were younger. They were driving around in one of those ATVs with the roofs on them and ramped off a hill into a nearby cemetary. They flipped the thing over onto the roof and right in front of them was the sign that read, "Heaven's Gate".
My dad has skitzophronia (no idea how to spell that) and owned a gun, which he obtained illegally and I've been told by family that he is on a no fly list for. Anyway, he came home drunk one night after getting into a bar fight, he also has Narcissistic Personality Disorder and someone at the bar had called him out on his constant lying. He was going to use his gun to shoot the person, my mum managed to stop him from leaving but got a beating in the process. Later that night, he was tipping the gunpowder from the shells into a container and wanted to burn the house down while us kids were asleep. That's when the police were called, we were finally taken by social services when I turned 8. Don't let the story fool you, my mum is extremely emotionally abusive and will blame all of her entitlement and manipulate behaviour on the domestic abuse we all suffered. She convinced my sister that social services would come back and take her baby away, like they had taken us, because she is having this kid too young and is too irresponsible to parent. My sister was born to be a mother and had to be mine and my siblings mother growing up because our mum preferred getting high. Made me furious when my sister was on the phone crying to me that social services were going to take her baby.
Absolutely amazing episode as always!!! Love it-- there’s a weird noise at 8:00 to 8:04 that sounds like banging? Doesn’t bother me but just thought I’d comment on it :3.
This is the craziest crime one of my family members committed. A cousin of mine was involved in organized crime in Mexico. He was wanted by the Mexican authorities because they tied him to multiple murders. He escaped to the U.S. and still murdered several people here as he was part of the cartel. He was captured. He was sentenced to death. My family pleaded with the legal system to not have him executed and even protested outside the courthouse. But what angers me is that they never protested or said anything to bring innocent people justice that the scumbag killed.

Just from his side of the family alone, I grew up listening to the conversion of roads for horse and buggies in South Texas to cars. If I remember correctly making false money is also a federal offence in the eu. Key is the 'making' part. There are about 7 visible clues to make out whether a bill is real, and it's a really nasty business to get them all right. It would basically only be worth it on bills of 100 euros or more, so 50 has kind of become the basic "high bill of choice". Still don't know what the prison sentence could become.
Again no one makes one $10 bill or 100 Euro note. Counterfeiters print thousands and thousands of fake bills. Counterfeiters then Sell the counterfeit bills at a very high discount to people that pass them by the thousands

Man, these stories make my youthful transgressions look super tame. Back in our late teens, my friends and I would go on scavenger hunts. Split into teams of 3-4 we’d have a list mostly consisting of lawn ornaments we’d steal. One of the biggest prizes was wind chimes, tricky to get considering the noise and the fact that they were attached to the houses. We’d also sometimes target road signs. My friends prized possession was a street sign of Mohawk street.
That last one, geez, you hear people act all tough all the time saying stuff like how they can make people disappear, this guy actually went and did it.
This reminded me of all the crazy shite my brother and I got up to! He was 18 months older than me. We’d sit up in trees and egg cars as they drove by, I was 6yrs old! 😂 We’d do the door bell ring dash all the time. Our neighbour was the biggest target of our antics. After a few eggings and doorbell dashes one night, he came over to talk our Dad. He was an FBI Agent!!! Who knew? Of course, being 6 & 8 yrs old that had to be explained to us, he put on a good show and scared the poo out of us! When we were sent to our rooms we heard him and our Dad laughing. He eventually helped me with my career later in life. Thanks, Mr. Murray! You were phenomenal! Our antics continued far into teenage years! Happy to say, only one time in a police car but we were let out within 10 minutes. Ahh, the 70’s and 80’s were good!

Some of these families are really messed up.
The crime that a family did in my family is that my uncle molested my older brother in Thailand and my little brother was going to be his next victim he got a away with it when the police interviewed him
The worst thing I have ever done was I used a bullying at school he broke my phone on purpose we were around the farm part of our school so I held his head against an electrical fence he did deserve it he bullied a lot of people he stopped picking on me after that also since we were in agricultural class we were wearing double layered gloves to protect your hands so here's the only one that got electrocuted
Love it!! He did deserve it!

I can't speak to the worst crime I've ever committed [the statute of limitations might not have run out yet, I'd have to check]
But my father ROUTINELY drove drunk. Multiple times with me in the car.
I distinctly remember one time, being five, he asked for something from the cooler that was tucked in front of me.
[yes a five year old in the front passenger seat, no car seat]
I said "you're not supposed to drink and drive" something my mother told me.
He told me "Oh, this is just adult pop"
Five year old me thought "Well you are thirty one years older than me, you know better" and gave him his PBR
Welp... he drove off the road into the ditch.
I can't recall if police showed up, I just remember being physically tossed into the back seat just in case.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
These are making me realize how boring I am
Well, he did warn him.

Not that cow specifically, but www.creatableinflatables.com has inflatable cows up to 25' tall.
The old times sure were crazy, even if crimes back then wasn't as broadly recognized as it is today.
I remember my parents telling me once about how a relative in their grandparents' generation got locked into a windmill and had it set on fire by an apparently jealous neighbor of his, burning him alive.
Lesson learned: Dont screw with Uncle Sam's money.

I don't know what my uncle did, but he's in jail. I'm not allowed to know what he did, so it was probably pretty bad.
It should be a crime for humans to trespass in my woods and disturb us bigfoots
Sup, Bigfoot? How's the family?
Give me the memes, NOW
Oooh I got a good one!

Ikr what if they get background checked or something
Thanks fr the great daily uploads

2nd story: *is funny*
3rd story: *dark...*
Well that took a dark turn
So did the lives of the family.

Listening to these I can't help but think back to all the stories of my family. My dad had us, kids, late in his life. We were born in the 60s & 70s and he was born in 1911. Just from his side of the family alone, I grew up listening to the conversion of roads for horse and buggies in South Texas to cars. From a lot of issues with bandits to the introduction of law enforcement... And the questionable legality of the times. I honestly have no idea which one would be interesting enough to pass along here.
I worked at a motel that was bought by Indians..They refused to pay overtime yet if your relief worker did not show up on time you had to stay until they did but you were not paid for the extra time..Cue revenge: They were not all up on the running of the front desk or the very old Micros hotel register system..You could void room charge which would create a credit of cash...we did this many times to make up for the overtime they cheated us out of..sure it was wrong but it was wrong of them to cheat us..lesson learned never work for certain hotel owners! This was back around 1995 so no worries!
The refusal to pay overtime sounds like it is illegal. I'm guessing the foreign hotel owners were just in it for the money. With that being said, they create a toxic work environment.
@@evadedenbach1226 We were all young back then but should have called the labor board..The new owners lived at the hotel as well and had multiple family members working there but needed us as they had no clue how the hotel even worked..ie: Micros front desk system (days before computer check in we used these 3 part folios that were pulled through this clanky Micros machine..Micros brand still makes restaurant systems and front desk systems.. "A decade for 10 bucks?!" Yeah, that's what you get when you insult the god of capitalism lol.
That or killed by a cop
the Secret Service are serious about protecting the money supply. so sorry if not destroying the economy of every country in the world is taken seriously
@@jackharter660 exactly, it’s never just a single bill…they also don’t just take the bills to be destroyed m they take all of the computers, the printers, the plates, then dig into the editing software and printing software to go after the ones who created the programs
