Great video. I agree. Im not a fan of the zeroing perk. And you have to make sure you are zeroed to the right distance when shooting an animal or you will mess up the shot.
Ranger perk is kinda useless, if you don't have range finding binos, check out my spotting video. Spotting is way better to find the range than the Ranger perk.
I've been playing 3yrs and i started off playing Kentucky windage style and its fine but i thought i was missing something and switched to get the perks for zeroing and never switched it back but no its not needed at all
how do you even use the zeroing perk? i understand from this vid its not useful. just wanna know how to use it. and since your on ps (it looks like), im on pc, so if you could just mention what action button you hit to use it.(like your aim button, reload button, etc.) thanks
Once you buy it you have to activate it by clicking on it in the perks and select activate. You'll know the perk is activated as there will be an icon on the far right of your HUD. On PS you cycle through the zeroing by tapping the R1 button which is also the whistle if held. Hope this helps
@@callofthewildtutorials1878 I'm thinking of doing: Rifles~ 2 memory muscle, 3 breath control, 2 steady hands... Handguns~1 sprint & load, 1 survival instinct (or 1 in quick feet), 1 ranger, 3 lightning hands... Archery~ 1 full draw, 1 move and shoot... Shotguns~ both eyes open 1, .....think I want 2 in fast shouldering to use scope as binoculars on sniper, then 3 in recoil management (think 1 spare point, prob gunna use in body control... (I'm still new to the game, wish I could test zeroing/weapons before investing that much, trying to learn from vids as much as I can^^
Dude sorry to say but the video doesn’t make sense for me, it’s obvious that zeroing is only useful at AT LEAST 400 meters. It makes so much easier to get straight heart shots at 700~ m. I’d say I would need to aim twice higher without the zeroing to get real long shots
Reality is that render distance 425m and the majority of my harvest are no more than 300m which is aiming at the top of the back. So it really 2 perk points you don't have to use when starting out.

Sometimes I like to try the other perks like the weather forecast one haha .
Lol gonna rain on Layton... Always lol
Awesome, I unlocked this perk a month ago and usually just have it set to 150m. Time to reset and unlock something useful. Thanks!
I dropped a turkey 386m away before l even knew this perk existed. Just aimed high and had a ton of luck.
Thanks for the vid. I’ve already activated the Zeroing perk, but I think I’m gonna switch it up with the Ranger perk now instead.

That looks painful when you have to wait for your aim wobble to align your sight for you because you're using a controller lol.
Also the point not touched on here is weapons that have much more drop than rifles.
Pistols, but especially Bows is where Zeroing is handy.
nope, I do not use them, did at first, but made no difference, used point on some think else

@@callofthewildtutorials1878 oh ok. thank you!!
I don't use it since I started playing this game in Jan 2021. Not missing anything.
Wish I did testing sooner with it. Helped me fill in archery. I may even get rid of the sprint reload perk.
@@callofthewildtutorials1878 not sure i even have that running . I do have mulepack or something.

@@WretchedEra sprint and load is not a total necessity. You can start to reload and walk if you want to save a point.
Sure not having the zero perk is great if you want sloppy kills. When you start making 300+m shots compensating isn't going to cut it.
I disagree. Once you know where to aim it's pretty easy to make distance shots. Just have to practice at the range.
How do you use it
If you get the zeroing perk you have it click on it to activate it. R1 then will cycle your zeroing. 300, 150, 75
damn seems it really sucks to aim with controller :D
i play on xbox no problem

You can only kill to about 440 max in the game 😂😂
