I was planning to pre-order Final Shape, but as of recent events I am reconsidering.

They _were._ Now they are in "golden parachute mode". See, all of you talking on this topic appear to have only half the story.
The moment they started layoffs they moved from "Executives that need to make the company profit" to "executives about to ride out on their contractually binding golden parachutes into severance and bonuses in the 8-9 digit range... for themselves". You all would be correct on the profit angle ANY OTHER TIME BUT THIS. Any other time, shareholder concerns would matter because, if they didn't treat them as if they matter then they wouldn't have a job tomorrow. But they are now in the closeout portion of reorganization and nothing they do wrong matters anymore (to them) since they already have an expiration date. Shareholders are being told at this point that the executives are all being reprimanded or given 3 months to clear out or any number of bullshit fabrications until the executives can farm themselves out to a new company to crash and burn.
How can you tell the difference?
Bungie 3 months ago: "PLEASE BEAR WITH US! WE'RE MAKING NEW PVP MAPS! WE'RE WORKING ON ALL OF YOUR QUALITY OF LIFE SUGGESTIONS! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE!"
Bungie this week: "We fired the award winning musical team then went on the record stating 'we fired the right people' in one Tweet and 'winkwink nudgenudge don't worry fans, even though we fired the musical score team, all of the work they did for Final Shape is still contractually bound to come out with the game so you'll still hear (and pay for) them even if they won't receive a single award or dime from it now that we've severed them before releasing it late next year'! We don't care about PVP, we don't even know what those letters in that combination means. Eat a giant dick. There ain't shit you can do about it."
The former is when executives still need to make profit. The latter is when they don't. You see the difference?
Been playing since d1 alpha in 2014 and I'm just happy to see this finally come to an end. I'm so bored and tired of playing this game now and that I'm basically the only one left on my friends list still playing but I want to see this through to the end.
I will say this like i said to many: what they did was beyond Stupid! BUT the comunity is overreacting has hell! Look Salvatori is 69 years old almost 70, sooner or later he would be gone anyways, and if the new leaks are true, he said he finished the Final shape OST and said he would be done afterwards.
Lightfall story sucked YES but the seasons didnt, Deep was great with the RPG element they introduce, season of the Witch was Awessome with many more RPG elements.
The testers for Final shape said it was Good not Great, well news flash, they tried an Experimental version, a Beta soo to speak, not the full version.
Besides 7 months of nothingness will do good for the game in my opinion, if ur bored go play spoderman, alan wake, cyberpunk, elden ring etc and come back June FRESH so u can enjoy the game again. If u rly want to play d2 go garm redboards, do catalysts, seals. I doubt u all have everything in the game.
People refunding the game is a horrible ideia, you are sending no messages, the only thing your doing is making them get less money from this expansion wich will lead too more layoffs.
We will never know the full story but people are assuming the leaks are 100%, chill
Listen im not a hater (except ur thumbnail, it sucks) i wouldnt waste my time if i knew it wasnt for a right cause, u helped me qith builds, so i want to help you and the people here, many people think the game will die because of this, it wont. Bungie has been in worse shoes before twice, and almost dead once. Sony made 6.3B dollars this year, theres no way in hell they will let bungie go under, the game isn't going to die that easy, its not going anywhere, this is a message for people that are scares, i was one of them. Do me a favor, if ur reading this, turn a music on or watch your favorite youtuber do something funny, and turn on destiny, and just go have fun, chill, take your mind out of this news for a while, it will do you know good thinking the game will die because it wont happen not matter what anyone will say or think. Bungie wont let, theyr main source of game and money and ways to communicate with us DIE! So go relax and forget all of this, and have Fun

I loved the ride, but sadly, i think it's time for all of us to think about moving on. For the last year, the game has been nothing more than disappointing and i don't think it's gonna get better
This community crap is so over rated. There's the impulsive, I'm never happy about anything, part of community who makes a game look bad. Then there's ppl like aztecross & followers who enjoy going back to old activities n enjoying while we wait for next season. The delay is heart breaking but it's the ones who are easily upset n speak out anger that are heard more than the quiet ones who are cool & will wait for good stuff to arrive. ---I'm still working on my mega high rise hotel with creatureslaver yard. FO4.

I'm chilling, we will see what bungie does, as always. I don't want to make it out that there is nothing going on, but people are taking this out of proportion so much. I think most people did not even read the articles, and IMO there is now ALOT of clickbait out there. Witchqueen was delayed, and we got one of the best expansions of D2. Most of these layoffs are in departments that have nothing to do with game development . QA,and IT are the departments that might impact the game, the others not a direct impact really.

I completely stopped playing after Forsaken. I came back to avenge Cayde and stayed around for a little, but when I saw them start removing DLC stuff that I and many others payed for, that's when I finally left.
stop pretending its the end of the world for destiny, we want the game to be there for us in the future, every company has a set back, we all knew lightfall wasnt successful this year dont let that ruin the game we all know and love

As I said in the start of the video its over "or not". In the end the only thing that will kill destiny is the bungie higher ups when they feel like it. Will the comminuty put pressure on them with the refunds maybe but is it over nah... "its not" like I said in start. I think the video was concise enough to explain that. Maybe I should made it longer but nah this is enough sum it up.

I'm never gonna give up on Destiny 2 never, since 2017 this game has always been a part of me and I loved it when I was 15; years old I was introduced to the game and I played it from the Red War all the way to Shadowkeep and I always loved the three new expansions Beyond Light, Witch Queen and the newest one Lightfall, I'm a destiny fan i will always be a Destiny Fan until the end i love this game and I'm not going to refund my Final Shape Expansion because Bungie is out there saving lives and helping people out there and using that money for cancer patients and the fires of Australia to the LGBTQ protest and just refunding the final shape expansion is like taking that money away from those that Bungie are trying to help. I don't care about the negative thoughts about the game all I care about is playing it and enjoying it. Bungie and Destiny 2 will always have a special place in my heart, Always.
Please let this game die. Stop putting money towards the idea of it getting better. Move on gamers. You all deserve better
Marathon is going to be dead in the water in 1-2 months time after it's launch. Bungie invited some "Escape from Tarkov" streamers to try the game. They disliked it, and when asked if anyone would play Marathon if it released the next day, not even one hand rose up.
