- By far the most common question I get on social media is asking about my camp kitchen / chuck box setup. I made a build video but it just wasn't very good to be honest, so I decided i would finally take the time to show it a little more in depth and talk about it. I hope you enjoy

Two of my favorite things about this Chuck box are the Drawers and the k cup french press. Designing around the pre built drawers really simplified things, and the french press, well, COFFEE!

Dude! If that box was on a slide in the back of the camper, I could pull it out and have a mini countertop right there! this opens up new ideas in my build!

That is a nice Chuck box. I thought about making mine with doors like yours for spice rack and hanging utensils, but instead I went with a fold down door. It allows for the Coleman stove to sit on top and the fold down door gives us a platform for laying out things on. At first I was like our we really going to use this and the answer is heck ya. My wife loves it. Our only gripe is the weight when carrying it from the truck to a bench. I am currently making an identical one, but this time I am trying thinner wood everywhere I can. Hopefully it works out.

I like that your seems a little bit smaller than most others, I have a very small car and love to car camp. Like the use of the plastic drawers they look handy and look like a Time saver

Love the simplicity and functionality of this design. The groove in the lid....is it just a routed groove in the door that locks into the swing out door?

Nice job. Is it free standing? If, so how did you do your legs? Could I get a copy of your plans? We are currently redesigning our troop chuck boxes and this is a different approach.

It looks like you are using laminated ply? And is it about 24" wide, by 20" deep, and maybe 20" tall? I am also very interested in the groove you talked about, that registers the doors being open. Looks great! Thanks for sharing! Excited for the next videos about the trailer too!
Looke like a very nice build. How long does it take to set everything up before you can start cooking?
I would say less than 2 minutes. I just open the doors and setup the shelves and stove.

The only pot I carry, even in my camper is one little backpacking pot and that is for boiling water for coffee. It’s just not something I use a lot.

K A while I agree that tailgate n go is better, it is $1600 just for the box! This is a diy chuck box that cost around $100 to build. Not sure why you think it’s “ridiculous”.
