It’s safe to say Law is the most complete one piece character. Good guy, great design, incredible backstory, really good/relevant end goal, smart, cool, dripped out, incredibly OP (heh) df and oh he also uses a sword. Law’s too amazing.

Big Mom did not heal herself , she turned her broken bones into homies ( you can see speech bubbles coming from her arms saying "Yes Mama !" ) , this is similar to the Berserker armor from Berserk , just allowing her to push through the damage and the pain and just keep fighting

I'm pretty certain the Puncture Wille created the giant hole so that Big Mom can be blasted by Kid off of Onigashima with his rail gun blast. Law's attack not only significantly weakened Big Mom, but made a large hole right next to her that goes right through the base of Onigashima. I wouldn't be surprised if they begin the next chapter showing big mom getting blasted into Law's crater, ending her role in the Onigashima battle, but still leaving her alive but unconscious, likely to be rescued by her children.
I half agree. It's either that or a place for Momonosuke to land Onigashima on so it doesn't cause as much destruction. Hell, maybe it's both. Imagine Big Mom falling in that crater and then Onigashima landing upon her. Brutal.

If a monster like big mom acknowledges Law attacks as dangerous, I fear for any other character on the receiving end of law attacks.
However, despite how much I enjoyed and loved this chapter, i can’t understand why big mom did not use advanced kings Haki against law and kid
Who's to say she didn't off-scrren?
Did she have a chance to land a clear hit on any of their bodies? Maybe only in this chapter when Law was attacking but she was in a desparate state already. Other than that, using conqueror’s haki on Kidd’s scrap or on teleporting Law wouldn’t make much sense as punches would mostly miss their bodies
She was using conqueror haki. People was losing consciousness but yeah advance conqueror haki is attacking your opponents without touching them . I can't help but think as amazing as this fight is. Big mom been nerf. Well half of the fight was offscreen. When they was knock out. Big mom turn and went to kaido to get attack again. That was the moment to burn them to a crisp or how is she getting surprise again. Doesn't she has observation haki.
i am also a bit skeptical regarding future sight. if luffy learned in in a couple of hours, shouldn't a freaking emperor be able to learn that int heir decades of reign? I think there was a moment when zoro was about to attack kaido that BM actually used future sight and warned kaido, but i don't understand why she is not using it in this fight (at least it's not obvious for me if she has used it)

And Big Mom has been fighting for nearly 40 chapters and took attacks from Luffy , Law , Kidd Zoro and Killer - 5 of the strongest Supernovas and it took several hits from both of Law and Kidd's awakenings ( we saw what Law's did to mainland Wano this chapter )to possibly bring her down ( she still might get up next chapter ) , and the fight has been mostly off screen with us just seeing the highlights

Big Mom was so damage proof that it seems she doesn't know how to actually fight. Like she doesn't seem to know how react to Kidd and Law's attacks. She just tanks them and depends on raw strength or her homies to attack. She doesn't fight smart. That's her problem
I’m starting to see how Rocks could loose to a Roger and Garp team up with how Kaido and Big Mom act when they fight. It must have been so annoying dealing with Young big mom never learning that she can’t rely on her natural defense all the time, and Kaido getting drunk during the fight and acting crazy. The only reliable one was likely Whitebeard lmao 🤣
I wouldn’t say that with her DF powers and her homies she basically many eyes and a instant army unfortunately she didn’t pick the best army making them out of steel beams. She definitely showed off more DD powers than Haki.

His counter attacks also great, and don't even start with his lightning fast surprise attacks. He's getting drunk also don't make him weaker, in fact he's becoming stronger as we can see from the previous 2 chapters.
Big Mom tho, her techniques and skills are sub par compare to Kaido. She rarely utilizes her Conqueror's Haki and Bushosoku Haki. She only depends on her monstrous raw strength and devil fruit's abilities.
Reminds me of Dante in black clover. So used to be so much stronger than everyone and just tanks attacks. Actual fighting skills are subpar

Kidd can also assign the same magnetic poles and make them repel which will make his power go up another level. Imagine himself using repel to fly or teleport just like Kuma. He can also create sophisticated magnetic patterns and make people spin for eterny or produce unlimited natural energy. The possibilities are endless if he's creative enough.

One note is the correlation between Kid and Law from 1038-1040 and Luffy and Zoro from 1008-1010:
Luffy in 1008: they are just humans, our attacks definitely hurts them
Kid in 1038: Emperor? Even mountains will eventually wear down with rain

I'm convinced at this point that Kidd is the son of Vegapunk or something. All his attack names have the word "Punk" in them, the name of his ship is the "Victoria Punk", and not to mention the fact that he MADE A FRIGGIN' FULLY FUNCTIONAL RAILGUN WITH NOTHING BUT SCRAP METAL. There's no way you'd be able to do something like that unless you had received that kind of knowledge from someone else (i.e. his father/creator)

That was a nice parallel between Luffy and Law, the former having made a huge hole in Dressrosa with King Kong Gun, and the latter doing the same in Wano.
In the official viz law said "he needed to go deeper" when stabbing Big Mom which indicated he wanted to make a huge hole in addition to damaging Big Mom since his "penetration wille" didn't finish her off anyway.
Coupled with Kidd and Laws new goal of stopping her getting to the roof, I'm thinking this combo attack was to try and not only shoot big mom down through onigashima, but into the crust of Wano as well. The hole could also double as a pathway for different characters to meet up and utilise as Oda likes to do as well.
This also makes what Kid says literal, “that’s why we’re getting rid of you” as they’re literally forcing her away, down the whole so she can’t get to the roof
Law's weapon is a reference to Wukongs/Goku's staff that extends. Onigashima on the top even reminded me of the Kami's palace from Dragonball

I meant to say 波動 means "wave" not "shockwave". 衝撃波動 which is how Law's attack is written in Kanji (shougeki hadou) means "shockwave" but it's usually shortened to just 衝撃波 (shougeki ha) in Japanese.

I took law saying to kid "stop doing flashy attacks after I attack" and "I got one more attack left" as him telling kid to attack big mom right after his last attack.
It's so weird that Kid gets so much comic relief combined with the punk/anti-hero vibe, considering when he and his crew were introduced, he and Killer had the highest bounties for the amount of civilian casualties they caused. I'm waiting to see that flashback, and theorize that it was like Whiskey Peak: an entire city/village/island of bounty hunters or assassins, and the government reported it as "civilians".
Considering the Shonen Jump cover's message saying the "climax of Wano arc," I think it's specifically saying that it's the end of act 3 and the climatic final act (aka post Wano) is upon us. Anyway I think there's three more chapters left of this act. First one covering the rest of the extra fodder on Onigashima, plus the climax of Big Mom vs Law & Kidd. Second one Being "Luffy vs Kaido." That one is likely to be epic as hell! This could actually be 5 or 6 chapters total because I see this fight going on straight through 3-ish chapters, including a bit more Kaido backstory (hopefully, with fingers crossed). I guess I could say the third "part," could be all of what my previous comment said. How I believe the Yonko lose. Then finally that's the end of act 3, and we move on to our semi twisted, 3rd party interfered, climatic, 4th act (aka final act/post Wano). It might be roughly 7-9 chapters for act 4, maybe less, who knows.
BM vs Kidd and Law feels rushed. Hopefully she doesn't lose to them.

Not in this arc anyways. I think once she is knocked off of Onigashima we will get a panel of her getting up and walking away. Thereby proving Kaido's words right about pirates abandoning each other. She'll be back tho.
In the color spread if you wear your tinfoil hat robin looking at the skull *representing death* and you look over at brook *used here as a representation of death as well* and he's looking out so everything boils down to death looking for robin and robin discovering death
Don't really have that much to say but I wanted to throw a comment in to try and boost the algorithm lol. Fantastic video again Sawyer! Reading one piece isn't complete without your videos and analysis
I do not think BM is getting up! 3 reasons:
1. Law's speech that your era is over!
2. Kidd was able to damage BM only because law was putting her into weakened state after his DANGEROUS attacks.
Just as we are seeing with Kaido vs Luffy, kidd has to have advanced COC to just fight with BM.
3. BM did not heal herself, she gave life to her bones. So not sure how much of it can she do as there has to be a limit to her using that ability otherwise she will be invincible as she is not sacrificing her own lifespan to heal herself.
Take Note on 2. The only reason why Law was able to sneak attack BM was because BM was focusing on Kid. BMs using Misery pummeling Kid then Law used that to Takt the building, hit BM and combo her.

I'm pretty sure that Big Mom will withdraw to elbaf with her military power as she slowly recognizes that Kaido will loose. She hopes to form an alliance with the giants cause this is her last chance to become pirate king.
How we’ve seen laws ability and kidds is prolly gonna cause alot of damage. I hope luffys final move is new and not a variation of his old technique. And it’s so strong that everyone is in awe and scared.

Law said he can only use his awakening as a last resort and will lose afterwards due to strain on stamina. Now he has spammed his awakening 3 times with each time more deadly than the previous. The amount of stamina and endurance Oda gives to main characters out of nowhere is ridiculous. Love Law but this type of progression pisses me off.
Same i hate when characters get these powerups without sufficient experience or training that bridges the gaps between then and now. Like technically Zoro should have been able to beat Doffy 1v1 since the only main difference between Dressrosa and Wano was upgrading to Odena sword, with which he was able to take out a top Yonko Commander. I would exepct him to then at least beat Doffy without Enma...

Big Mom is connected to Elbaf is so many ways that's it's impossible for me to think that Big Mom is permanently going down after this fight ala Luffy v Doflamingo. Napoleon and Elba(f), her failed marriage attempt with Prince Loki, her weird quasi-giant status... It's just too much!
If she does go down which I highly doubt then that would be really bad writing on Oda’s part. Talk about Chekhov’s gun.

Do you all think a durability increase comes with an awakening? It’s nuts how much stamina Law and Kid have, I thought they were done for on 1038. Both supernovas were able to tank some nasty hits from Big Mom and then turn around and strike back. Unbelievable. Am I missing something or is the writing kind of bonkers?

BROOO, my man Law did a full caesarean section on Big Mom's belly and the not so "useless" Captain Kid definitely took Misery's attack head on and tanked it, we can see his eyes go blank for a brief second there before he pulled his trump card.
Plot twist: BigMom's body died but Misery comes back and get revived because the truth is Misery is BigMom's real soul like how Brook's soul can leave his body.

I know sawyer said Big Mom's probably not done yet, but I'm pretty sure she's defeated and next chapter were going to get a reaction by cp0 and then focus on Luffy vs Kaido- also law wouldn't say your era is over unless she was finished

Oda is normally good when it comes to highlighting elements that will be relevant later (he's not totally innocent of pulling deus ex developments but does well in keeping away from them). Having shown Kidd's assign ability that would be a handy way to have Big Mam stick to something else (the currently frozen bombs in the castle's basement). It'd also be an effective way to get Kaidō's club away from him but we will see how that goes. As it stands for now we'll probably have a bit more of the current battle to go (only about another half chapter's worth but it should be over by then).
@@patrickhoneyman9019 for Kaido's club it would be harder since he wouldn't let go of it, for the bombs it's easier yes. Combine an heavy attack of Kidd and the bombs.. sort of a throwback to the explosive box in Whole Cake

Funny Sawyer mentions Oda subverting expectations by switching match-ups. It's quite similar to the "problem" I had with Luffy being the one to deliver the final blow against Doflamingo, even though Law was the one with history and a personal vendetta against him.
Here, Luffy goes out of his way to make himself Big Mom's number one enemy. From challenging her back in Fishman Island to humiliating her by wrecking her territory and managing to escape, which leaves Big Mom to personally chase him all the way to Wano. With this much setup, you'd think her big fight would be against him, and yet here she is fighting Kid and Law of all people. Kid has more of a personal grudge against Kaido, seeing as Kaido completely demolishes him, and forced his right-hand to eat a Smile fruit. As for Law, although it was a lie, his first target was Kaido, and Law plays a part in destroying Kaido's business. Aside from Luffy's connection to Kinemon and Momo, I wouldn't say he has any personal beef with Kaido, other than to take him down. Hell, he's actually enjoying the fight, which isn't something we normally see when Luffy fights the big bad.
