I remember them talking about tax credits for small business, improvements in health care, assistance with child care, and protection of labor union pensions.
Also, if you watch a right-before-the-election 20 min. video in The New York Times channel, their border policy was almost Republican - but they did negotiate with Central American countries to address the *causes* of the migrations. Brian Williams spent most of his adult life living in New Canaan, CT (where is wife grew up). This is where they raised their family (including daughter Allison). TRUMP & FOX NEWS
BULLSHIT
@@whathandleUtalkabtNo, and neither do you!!
They aren't. He is sane washing the lies that Trump spreads. Making him a liar.
He's a liar. He would rather demonize immigrants and call "critiquing."
All of you people are missing the bigger problem. Imagine what could happen if all of our government was focused on making the country and the world a better place to be instead of wasting all this effort on "outdoing the other party." This competition mentality is the undoing of us and many other nations.
It’s very simple. Pay us more! It’s very simple.
Good luck with that. Any progressive legislation on labor law or minimum wage was never going to come from the GOP.
I don't remember the Democrats saying there was nothing wrong with the border. I remember the Democrats talking about more staffing for the Border Patrol and immigration judges. I remember Democrats working with Republicans to draft legislation to deal with the issue, but Republicans refusing to pass it. I also don't remember Democrats making a big deal about the NASDAQ.
They managed to decrease it - and nobody, not even Harris explained what she had personally done. The Democrats have a terrible "we are modest" complex. Then come the Republicans and boast of everything they do, they didn't do, they opposed to do, all what the Democrats did.
Great.
On The Daily Show, Jon Stewart literally played clips of Democratic campaign ads promoting Republican talking points. "Crackdown on immigration!" "Support the police!" Kamala bragged about having a Glock. They picked Tim Walz as VP because he has such a good track record with the working class. They were WELL aware that inflation and gas prices were the number one issue.
Yep, I remember that too.
Come on, there are literally quotes saying “the border is secure” the new agents they requested were going to be use to process undocumented immigrants not enforce the border, don’t be so dumb…
@@MariaMartinez-researchertoo little too late, they didn’t start bailing it out till it was overflowing and a mess. Their fault and deserve it for what they did to the border.
Did not appreciate this show Seth 😔
prices will not go down, just like they've never gone down. i guess some people dont understand businesses are in business to make as much money as possible and once its proven that people will pay there is no incentive to charge less and reduce profit
He’s starting to uncannily resemble Matt Lauer…
Stop picking on Biden when Nightmare is taking over!!!
Trump is your President.
Trump won the Popular Vote. You're in the minority now.
Exactly.
Well, if anybody’s gonna speak on insulting errors, Brian Williams is an expert!!
Is this more of NBC assigning guests to Seths show? This guy had such a wonderful career and threw it all away.
Networks assign guests on all of these shows
I always liked Brian Williams
Came here to read the comments! You're why the Dems lost! Just to let you know. $36.85 Bounty 12 Pack with tax at Chicago area Target.
What do you mean I have a drinking problem? I cut back from a whole case of beer a day to just an 18 pack! I’m good! Denial is a basic human instinct.
Caring about minorities and messaging to the working class are not mutually exclusive ideas. Williams presents this as a zero sum situation, and it isnt.
Could it be that Americans don't deserve someone like Harris in charge?
Thought that myself. We didn't get the Pres we needed but we got the one we deserve.
Yep, it seems America was in dire need of a cold shower, as a lot of people do not know what an actual hardship is... And no, it's not buying non brand paper towels.
Like they "deserve" a convicted felon, ray-pissed, ray-cist, classist who thinks you're dumb enough to believe him. Ok, I'll concede that point.
@@chrissiek8706 That's a good way to put it. America is going to get exactly what it asked for, it just might not turn out quite like how they imagine. Unfortunately it's gonna get way worse under Trump before anything gets better.
Isn’t this the disgraced fraud?
I think on the subject of covering the election win of a ray-cist, ray-pissed, convicted felon, compulsive liar who even has his own Wikipedia page dedicated to that topic, BW can be forgiven for misremembering an exciting incident in his life -- he told 'big fish' story and weather intentional of inadvertently, nobody was injured so, yeah, give it a rest and next time you stretch the truth just remember you're speaking "Brian's Truth".
I'm not sure I'm so in love with Brian Williams . . .
It's ok. He loves himself enough to make up for all of us. 🙄
I used to love him, not sure now!
The more disappointing than the both parties turned out the American voters... Where is your conscience, 72 millions?
Was all good until he blatantly started throwing minorities under the bus to be liked by the vultures.
Where exactly did he throw "minorities under the bus?" You kind of Democrat is exactly what is wrong with the party.
@@rabbit251 Wilson claimed that the working class had left the Democratic party because arriving refugees got little backpacks with some colouring books, granola bars and toiletries from charities and used that as an indictment of the Democratic party and not as an example the depravity of the US American voter. That is absolutely throwing minorities under the bus.
He literally called "worrying about minority groups in society" "suicidal empathy", like... How much clearer does it need to be for you?
@@rabbit251 Starting at 3:50. Pandering to right-wing white people hasn't exactly worked, either.
@@crashnova7601 I did watch. Still waiting for explanation.
@@rabbit251 Review the section that begins with Williams using the term "suicidal empathy." (3:50) He suggests that Democrats should be less empathic to the plight of minorities because white voters find staunch advocacy for minorities decidedly off-putting--and vote accordingly. You might agree with that, but I find it chillingly cold-blooded. I am glad Lincoln and LBJ didn't subscribe to that sort of pragmatism.
Why was Brian Williams speaking out about these specifics during the 4 years of Biden in the White House or at least during the past election year?
Brian Williams spent most of his adult life living in New Canaan, CT (where is wife grew up). This is where they raised their family (including daughter Allison). New Canaan is one of the wealthiest towns in the nation (I lived there, too). So, for him to be offended by things that aren't working class is a stretch. He used to be the grand marshal or something like that for our Memorial Day parade there. But, he's buddies with Bruce Springsteen and I've seen photos of the Williamses hanging out with the Springsteens at one of Jessica Springsteens equestrian competitions in Europe - not in Brick or Deal. So, he doesn't seem very genuine to me. And he DID lie about being underwire while he was a talking head. I think it's what sank his career. If Williams is so working class, why does he look like all the people going to their 40th reunion at prep school? And, for heaven's sake, if being a Democrat is being elicitst - it's because education and human decency are on the marquee of the Democratic Party. That's nothing to be ashamed of! In fact, seems rather right-side of humanity to me.
"May you live in interesting times."
Well, it sure is interesting now...
Why the hell would anyone listen to Brian Williams about the working class?
This liar produced one of the worst nepobabies working in the entertainment business.
? What's your beef with Allison Williams?
Says the man who lied about his experiences covering war. Your show id part of the problem if you have ppl like him in the spotlight. Worthless journalism.

Seth doesn't play with the pencil when he is serious?
Don't agree.
I thought that Williams was disgraced? I've heard that as newsmen go, he's a lot like Ted Baxter.
2:15 what are Bounty and Sparkle, anyone?
Paper towels, the best brand you can get, but they’re nowhere near $40 for 12. Essentials for 12 is about $15. If you want the advanced, that’s about $25 at Costco, often $19.50 on sale. So no, not $40
Brands of paper towels. Bounty is a heavy-duty top quality product. Sparkle is thin, cheap, less absorbent.
@ thanks!
Paper towels--and their cost has nothing to do with inflation and everything to do with Proctor & Gamble jacking up prices.
@@mc76wrong. It's all inflation.
No one laughed during the interview. This was a terrible choice for a guest. Seth.
Not all interviews are funny
I think NBC probably twisted his arm on this one. Same with what's her name the other day with all of Oprah's favorite things
If you cover his head of hair, and just look at his face, does anyone else see he looks very very very similar to Lester Holt?
I don´t agree.
It's so good to see Brian Williams! I really like him & wish he'd do more interviews. One Love 💕
1:40 - Begins
I think it is also the job of Democrats to let MAGA have their nihilism and very loudly DO NOTHING to stop it. Sometimes you can't teach or advise: You have to let them find out for themselves and hope we all survive the experience.
What's really annoying is the republican policies don't help working class people, but they've been convinced to vote for them
Brian's analysis is flawed- $40 Bounty (it's $32 at Walmart, let's not exaggerate), and when my budget is tight I don't buy paper towels at all, never mind Sparkle - but that has not swayed me to vote for Trump, who is DEFINITELY not eating at Cracker Barrel. Seth pushed back well, thank you. Giving hotel rooms to homeless is no picnic - "suicidal empathy" is called for in my faith - what about yours? Democrats are not the "fancy party", and we are not elite. We ARE people with memories of January 6, and need to stay mindful. Brian Williams' analysis missed the mark by a mile.
Hey comments section: pls stop demanding that every single late night show guest suck the democratic party’s ass the way the hosts do. It’s ok to hear another perspective so long as it’s respectful and intelligent.
This one certainly was lacking the intelligent part
@ I think I’m giving BW credit for being intelligent here as I’ve long recognized him as such. His comments here weren’t incredibly thoughtful.
And their shows viewership will continue to decline until they start picking apart and making fun of BOTH sides. They are total tools and most people see that and are tuning out to the them.
Lots of reasons why the democrats lost, but no one mentions that a black woman running was just a bridge too far. Josh Shapiro or Gavin Newsome would've won. Sorry, just a fact a sad fact of where the country is at this point in time.
So, basically, what you and Williams are saying is that Democrats should become Republicans in order to win elections.

What a useless analysis. Seth really stumbled
If Dems don’t agree with that analysis they will continue to lose because it’s pretty much true, don’t care that much for the Republicans but the Dems are completely out of touch. Sad but true.
Brian got old. Just saying.
Correction. Who are “the Democrats” if not Brian Williams? There is either a complete disassociation or else who is running the party?
Bernie is right that this country is an oligarchy. Both sides.
