Alan Rickman saying that Daniel Radcliffe should become a director, is the highest praise a young actor can ever receive. I read that part on the diary and I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm.... because if he was trying to insult him, he wouldn't have said that his music belonged on the big screen. There was really no beating around the bush with Alan. You can read in his entries how very clear and direct he is.

I first seen him in the non Christmas( 😉) movie Die Hard. He was great in Robin Hood. The depressed robot in hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. I loved him in Galaxy Quest. They were going to make a second, but everyone said it would not be the same without Alan.
The sassiest wizard.
so he was being Snape in real life?
The moment he brought John Williams into this, I knew he was just a hater.
The HP soundtrack it's probably the worst of all his work. It is really meh at best
Lmaoo sounds like the Half Blood Prince was writing that journal just like in the books.
Alan wasn't wrong about Emma Watson though. Her acting has the emotional range of a teaspoon. Can't blame poor old Alan for seeing past the cuteness.
Damn ig thats why shes stared in movies that billions.
@@kyzaar2 Do you think she made the movies successful??? Try harder in that delusion. 🤣 It's the story that brought audiences to the theater and not Emma's acting.
@@grec.if smn is being delusional that’s you.))
Emma was one of the reason kids loved HP films
Most 10 yo wouldn’t have been half successful and natural as she was.)
@@behindmyblueeyes99 I said what I said 😂
@@grec. i said what i said too 😂🤣
Allen Rick man and Daniel Radcliffe had a well known working relationship. Alan personally helped coach Daniel though many of his scenes. Alan was also a very well known prankster and trickster on set. There is apparently hrs of retakes because Alan is fucking with people on set or i scenes lol
Lmao DUDE WAS RIGHT BOUT EVERYTHING I STAN
The only thing I learned from this is that Alan Rickman is awesome
Lol what nobody can take a joke? This is a same dude that blasted a fart during a take
This feels like something Snape would say.
So I totally agree with him. Emma Watson was literally mouthing other people's lines in the films she was awful at acting. It's even a meme how she inflects the wrong parts. Daniel was hit and miss and it honestly feels like his complaints were rational.
Honestly she's not even that good as an adult....
Beauty and the beast was atrocious
@@3katfox have you seen her in the bling ring? you would die.
agree. and and who are we to think we're better than Alan Rickman about judging actors? he's the one who got experience. I personally think Emme acted too tense and out of breath all the time in HP
@@3katfox yes! Emma Watson acting was so stiff in beauty and the beast, also the whole drama about the corset was ridiculous. Corsets are not a tortured device like they are portrayed by modern society. It’s also kind of ironic that she refused to wear a corset in beauty and the beast, but she wears it in little women.
@Grace Agree, honestly Rupert acted the best despite Ron being ruined because the screen writer was so biased to hermione.
This guy always bends the truth in his videos. Take it with a grain of salt
My man was method acting down to the journal entries - the dedication!
Alan Rickman saying that Daniel Radcliffe should become a director, is the highest praise a young actor can ever receive. It means, he had a knack for storytelling and the technical part of filmmaking.
As for Emma Watson, no one should be surprised that Alan Rickman thought she was an awful actress. Since, she is probably one of the worst actresses in history. Alan Rickman was also correct about her accent, since English is her second language. She is infamous for over enunciating.
English is her second language? What's her first?
@@Greenballoffire - French
@@ChienaAvtzonSince when does she speak fluent french ?
I know she was born in Paris and lived a few years there but I bet she doesnt speak much and forgot a lot.
Her british accent btw is effortless natural and very authentic. Her acting got better in the last movies imo, she did her best although it does not please everyone. Sometimes she overdid it I agree.
Lmao Alan Rickman hated everyone except for the character/actor everyone else hates and mocks. Ronald Weasley, Rupert Grint.
no he didn’t. him not liking how someone acts is not him hating them
also why would he not like his acting? he’s great….
He disliked their acting that doesn't mean he disliked them as people lol.
Dude actually kept some doodles the child actors made of him.
How does he not have anything bad to say about Rupert Grint after he and Matthew Lewis spilled milkshakes in his new car? 💀
And this is why I loved him!
Tbh….I mean those were his private thoughts and her language was off. And he has a right to his own views on things. But this entire video I just giggled at how much he fits snape lol.
So he gave permission beyond the grave for his personal thoughts to be shared with the world? If anyone knows if this was his wish could you let me know🙏
1. he asked for his journals to be publish after his death
2. their acting did suck in the early films but that’s just part of their charm. can you imagine listening to philosophers stone hermoine for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week?
Finally. The only good Harry Potter actor with a brain
Holy sh I’m so conflicted. I personally think diaries should be kept private (or at least not mass produced) unless the owner specified they wanted them published. But damn I love Rickman and am so curious.
In this case you don’t have to be conflicted. It was per his wish that the diaries be published in the first place. It was always his goal he just died before he was able to. Rima (his widow) made moves to publish his diaries and spent nearly 6 years refining and going through all 27 volumes of the.
@@ladyofallthingspotterrelat1913 wow, that sounds amazing. Thanks for the info.
I mean they were no names kids with little to none acting experience before hand. Not everyone can be a acting prodigy or the entire cast of stranger things (even then, a lot of the cast had prior acting experience). They learned on the job and it was enjoyable for the target audience, the children-teens of the era.
Damn I'd hate to see my old thoughts published lol he might've not even thought the same later on etc could just be hurtful to people. Smh
I'm shocked that he didn't like the John Williams score. It's one of the most iconic scores in movie history!
I read that part on the diary and I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm.... because if he was trying to insult him, he wouldn't have said that his music belonged on the big screen. There was really no beating around the bush with Alan. You can read in his entries how very clear and direct he is.
See Grint in "the Servant" series. Sublime acting .
Tbf Daniel Radcliffe portrayed Harry terribly in the first 3 movies. He played this quiet dumb shy kid when in reality Harry and Ron were outgoing and jokesters.
Well to be fair that's how the script was written he just played what he was thought to play
Thats the directors fault aint it.
Harry was timid in the first few books. However, the original issue was Chris Columbus is a garbage director.
I’m just laughing at the description “quiet dumb shy kid” hahahahaha
Awww I love that he was cool with Ron of all people lmao
I'm glad Alan Rickman has the same views about Prisoner of Azkaban as me. He is kinda right about the jump in Goblet of fire. But a few scenes make up for it
Well, I can only laugh at this bc he probably will be best known for this character...total British honesty...RIP dear sir😄❤
Damn the Snape energy is strong with this one.
If sir Alan Rickman was still alive and he'd publicly say that, they'd probably try to cancel him for not liking Emma Watson's acting and at the same time praising JK Rowling for being a genius.
It's JK's story who made people watch the movies, not Emma's acting
Imagine how many times u wrote something mean in a private journal & go back & read it a few years later & are like wow I can’t believe I said that.. now imagine being dead & having those personal thoughts blasted for the public to see. & since ur gone you have no ability to defend urself or explain ur mindset at the time
I love Emma now, BUT I do remember complaining about her acting for a good portion of the series when it came out. They were kids 🤷🏻♀️. I would have to disagree with him about the score though. It perfectly captures the Harry Potter vibe for me. I get chills when I hear it
Lol Hermione did talk talk funny when she spoke
Damn, Allen was throwing salt left and right
Suddenly this makes Puppet Pals Snape better
Hes just practicing his acting by internalizing Snape's feelings towards the Hogwarts kids.
the fact that İ am from Albania makes this very funny
Rupert Grint was considered to be the best actor among the 3. No surprise there.
Even as a fan, I feel his comments about Watson and Radcliffe was spot on. 🤷🏻♀️
