I really regret that now because I think American Tabloid is one of his best books.
I know he's going on 25 years teetotal but I'd love to have a beer or few with Ellroy. He's fucking mental and hilarious sober, just imagine the potential shits and giggles after a couple of brews.
He looks a really nice man beneath that seamingly cold and judgemental exterior. Although impossible to live with I'm pretty sure ;) Loved his double biography (My dark places & The Hilliker curse).

I simply note: his's predictions regarding Black Dahlia were spot on.
