Thanks so much for the fantastic content you’ve been putting out on the CX-90! I’ve found your videos incredibly helpful as I’m in the process of researching family haulers. The CX-90 PHEV is high on my list, but I recently came across some concerning ratings on Consumer Reports-particularly a 15/100 reliability score and a 1/5 owner satisfaction score. I know you have great expertise with Mazdas, and while I understand there may be limitations to what you can say, I’d value your perspective on this model. Do you think the CX-90 PHEV could present significant mechanical challenges for a long-term owner, or are these concerns overblown?
First I would like to say. Thanks for the comment and thanks for your support. This is my channel. I can say whatever I want. I am not bias to Mazda. I don't even own a Mazda at this time. I am open to every carline. Some are good and some, not so good in my opinion. A for the CX-90. It's way to early to make any judgements on longevity. Like every product ever made. Some people have problems, and some people don't. It's a new platform for Mazda. It's a mechanical marvel and a mechanical nightmare at the same time. Only time will tell.
I was on the fence with a Lexus ISf 350 or 500, and a Nissan Armada platinum. The Nissan is self explanatory, the Lexus was small but a solid built proof and hindsight I wish I bought the Lexus. The Nissan is surprisingly having a few issues, I’ve owned them before and not an issue, however I’d say Lexus all day long folks, the price point of the Toyota is so close and the warranty of the Lexus is a lot longer.
I always worry that my CX-90 won't start back up while the i-stop is on. Now I see there's a recall. Can you do a video on why Mazda brakes squeak? Thanks for the info.
I have the exact same concerns: 1) very slow start from istop, 2) squeaky brakes. The dealer told me both 1) and 2) are normal for CX90, and he said he wasn't happy with CX90.
Really nice video. Question: for a 2016 Mazda 6 2.5 NA with 100K miles, there are any software upgrade (PCM or TCM) recommended by Mazda to compensate for wear and mileage? Thanks in advance for your time and reply.
Not that I know of. The only time Mazda comes out with software. Is when it needs to fix a problem or a bug in the previous software. And, unless it is a recall or a campaign. It's not announced. If a Mazda comes in with a shift issue, only then would you find out that there is an update to the TCM for shift concerns. Using Mazda's search engine in MGSS to find a program update is almost impossible. I don't know why. That is just the way they do it.
We appreciate the CX90 information you cover.
@JC-gy4xs thank you. I will cover everything I can. Thank you for the comment. I appreciate you watching.
Thank you for all of your informative videos. You make the difficult look easy!
@@nunosilva4261 you are very welcome. Thank you for the comment and your support. It means a lot to me.
I did all of these myself two weeks ago using MDARS, very easy job.
Good to know. Did you get the TCM updated? Or was it already updated?
@@ShopForemanGarage I did a few months ago before the recall.

My CX-70 falls within the VIN range for both. I'm taking it in for a service tomorrow so it'll be fixed. Yay 🎉
@DrT1250 that's cool. Better to giter done now. Why wait.
is it true you need to drop the engine to change an alternator on these CX90s?
No. The vehicle does not have an alternator. It uses a DC to DC converter to charge the 12 volt battery from the high voltage system.
@@ShopForemanGarage Interesting; what is maintenance like on these. A bit worried of this model out of warranty which has me looking at other brands

there are always morons who buy the first edition of models
Brake squeak and Mazda can be a very touchy subject. I'll have to look into this. Thanks for watching.
I call them Trail Blazers. Cutting the path for the rest of us. Someone has to go first.

Thank you very much!!!! That was a really complete answer!!!
I have a cx-9 and very disappointed with the quality and mechanical aspect of the car. Never again. Going back to Toyota.
To each his own, my friend. You should do what makes you happy. Thanks for the comment.
Funny , I had Toyota's and Mazda's most of my life and recently Mazda quality is much much better than any Toyota's.
I have a cx90 and absolutely love this car especially the inline 6. Mazda really stepped up the game.
