Danner Acadias have been my choice for years. Danner USMC RAT boots for warm weather. I wore cheap boots for years. Danners changed my life. The US made Danners can be sent back to Danner and repaired which is amazing. I have 7 pairs of Danners and I love every pair. The Danner RAT boot was the first boots I've ever owned that didn't need to be broken in. They were EXTREMELY comfortable right out of the box. Danners aren't for everybody. But I encourage everyone to spend a bit more and buy higher quality boots. It really does make a HUGE difference.
I was issued Chippewa's in the late 70's while in the 10th Special Forces Group. They were like breaking in concrete but get them wet and they broke in fairly easy. Oil them up with neatsfoot oil and they lasted for 2-1/2 years then the soles were replaced...kept wearing them. A few years ago, I bought a pair of S2V's ($300+) for winter hunting in the N Georgia mountains. They were the most comfortable boots I ever put on but that only lasted 3 months. The boot sole and inner boot failed / collapsed and the cleats would push into my feet. There is very little in a platform for your feet to pad your feet but the VBA sole. That is what makes them feel good for the beginning. The VBA is very soft but the cleats still have enough thickness to push thru everything else. I may as well had rocks in the boots. I sent them back and they sent me a new pair. Same thing 3 months later they were shot. Hell, I'm 67 years old and my ruck only weighed about 65 lbs. I don't see how you could depend on them at all for the military, unless you drive the Bn Cmdr around base. This EVA molded sole is a bunch of $hit. The material won't last. I bought a pair of Merrill's rated for about -25F for winter in Colorado. Wore them for 2 weeks, came home and bagged them up. Next year I pulled them out and walked across the floor and almost tripped. The soles came off and left sticky EVA all over the carpet. Merrill basicly said tough $hit, 1 year warranty. 4 months past.
I've been in boots almost every day for over 25 years & the best "combat" boots for arid & temperate environments are Lowa & Meindl. I made the mistake of trying a pair of Meindl boots a decade ago & immediately knew there was no other option. The quality & feel is amazing. The same type of quality you get from a Red Wing work boot.
@@Den-ku6ye Crispi, Haix and Meindl makes excellent boots but they are alot more more expensive. Usually they last for years longer than the cheaper stuff so its money well spent.
I can’t recommend FREE SOLIDER enough. Awesome breathability, outstanding support, waterproof, so many types/styles, and great comfort. Not only boots, but pants, shirts, and jackets too.
Don’t buy shoes with zippers. If the zipper fails you have to toss the whole boot. I love the Lowa Zephyr. Only boot that’s fit for hiking and actual running(had to run 4miles with a 50lb pack). I did it in these. Worst hike of my life but they performed.
Great shoes shown in this video! I have a shoe I would recommend. It is very popular and used a lot by the Norwegian police: Hoka One One Sky Kaha GTX. I use them myself in service, and in my opinion it is one of the best in terms of comfort, durability and flexibility. The shoes are on the more expensive side, and cost about 350 dollars here in Norway. Possibly they are cheaper in other countries. Have a great day!
Ariat hiking boots for women is what I recommend. A lightweight pair for sunny, warmer weather and waterproof heavier boot for winter. Also, appropriate socks for both.

I've tried just about every boot ranging from $40-$150 and dr. Martens have held their own better than most. Best for my money so far. Bates, aren't all that! Last 3-5 months at best and it was only on a ship so save your money.
You'd save alot of money money in the long run if you spent another $150-200 for Crispi, Haix or Meindl boots. Docs are amazing quality but they're also very basic I would not want to patrol in them for a 10-12 hour shift.

@@jeremiahlewallen1555 They're premium european brands. They dont cater much to us military or lawenforcement people but more towards hikers, climbers and hunters. Each of them has a couple of tactical models. My current pair of boots are called Meindl Combat Extreme and they're amazing but its early days still. A collegue of mine swears by the Meindl Kampfstiefel (combat boot in german) and he claims he used them daily for 9 years before buying a new pair. In the warmer months I like to wear the Magnum Assault Tactical because they breathe so well. I had to reglue the sole after two months but they've held up well for about 6 months of daily use.
I swear by Hi Tec boots, they work in all conditions Sun, snow, rain, frost they are light weight, durable and mostly water resistant but when you walk in rain/snow mixed for hours on end most boots will become wet, I will admit I usually walk 1200 to 1400 miles a year so a good inexpensive boot works well, I usually purchase from the 70-120 dollar range and use Kiwi laces...
I recommend danners for less rocky terrain and if you’re looking to be more mobile those would be your best bet. Nike SFS’s are about the same maybe a tad bit better for rough terrain but if you’re looking for boots that will just wreck rough terrain go with Rockies. They’re a little more expensive but they’re made for terrain like Afghanistan.
What ever you guys chose will be better then Bates. Bates is the worst brand. I have a pair of boots that were replaced free do to a broken zipper. After owning them for half a year. That brand is 5.11 Tactical. Still have that pair to this date.
Some are good some are bad. I’m a boot junkie. I just got the new Bates Army hot weather mountain combat boots they’re not being sold to the public yet. They’re pretty solid. The bates featured here are good for duty work but I wouldn’t go hiking in them.
I ordereed a pair of boots like this mail order on sale like 40% off Reebok they are the most horrid uncomfortable boots I ever wore.. can't last 8 hours if you do any walking .. In the summer I wear good 8" high top work shoes like Thorogood or Wolverine no problem in an 18 hour day .. Reebk will rub your feet raw.. It was a discontinuned model .. and now I know why they discontinured them..
I don't think a zipper on the side is a good solution It may allow quick use but if the zipper breaks or breaks open the whole boot will become unusable The best is medium-height boots with a quick lacing system
Cpt. Nemo mine lasted for 3 years of daily wear. Bought another one In fact only sole wore out after 3 tears , upper still fine, wished they offered resole services

When I was in the service boots where black and that was the only color choice period. Not sure if they still have black or both brown and black? Wouldn't think the army would allow two different color boots in formation seeing how everything needs to look the same.
@@clalam5241 because water gets in over the top and once wet , Gore tex takes a helluva long time to dry out. Also, they don't last very long in....err .. humid .climates. Then there's the question of adding another layer of fabric.... that's just another failure point...you know, seams and whatnot. Gore tex is good for police work and for some hunting but out there in the wild....nah. You'd be better off with a pair of jungle boots TBH. That's just been my experience.
Who put this list together? You left out one of the best tactical/uniform/military brands, Danner. Other great brands of tactical footwear should be Danner, Lowa, Haix, Belleville. Danner TFX, downrange, Acadia, Rivot, these are one of the best. Lowa, Zephyr, Z8 are great boots. Haix tactical, desert or black, top quality. Salomon Forces is a another great brand and Couple from Under Armour great for comfort only. So this list does not say much and some of the boots in here should not have made the list.
Go with jungle boots . Socks and foot powder is more important. Nothing lasts in tropical jungle environments. Whatever is on this list won't work except for the LALOs.
@@Donnydarco100 my more than ten years of stomping through tropical jungles tells me otherwise. But I can tell you this, once water gets over the tops of your boots , and it WILL, your goretex is fucked and you're pretty much out of the game. By no means are the jungle boots ideal but they do the job far better than anything on this list except for those LALOs.

Magnums might be low quality but I'm glad to replace them more often or to occationally reglue the soles because they really spare my feet more than any other boot on the market.

Lowa, Solomon and Danner are the best. All made in U.S.A. and Europe. But most of boots in this list are cheaply made in China and Vietnam.

Bates sports ultra lite comes in EW, may not last the longest when it comes to tactical boots, but definitely wide, runs wide and lightweight.

stopped watching as soon as you mentioned Lalo Tactical....garbage boots...they break down easily...they are super hot in the summer...way expensive and overrated. You can get great boots like Salomon for a better price..or Danners.
