Amy, I'm an old woman and been disabled for the last 10 as to where it's hard to get around I have several autoimmune diseases lupus, RA Reynolds’s and then had Colon Cancer. Chemo was not good for me and left me with bad side effects, but what I want to say is you, young ladies, are an inspiration to me like I said I'm 70 and immobile pain and joints. What's really hard for me is I was always so active and a runner and in good shape and I worked for it so now I can barely move I've gained some weight and now I'm depressed cause I can't walk and exercise is out. I have been married for 53 years and have 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, my oldest grandchild is 35 and my oldest great-grandchild is 14. I just admire you and Tom and how he takes care of you as my husband takes good care of me and I pray you to have as many happy years as we have. I have been following you and Hospital Princess for about a year I feel as if I know you and it helps me cope because of all your illnesses and pain you work through it and really help so many people with your knowledge and bravery. Bless you, both and know you have someone who cares for you in the USA, INDIANA.
Donna loveall aww thank you so much! I’m so glad you have such a beautiful family and support system! I hope I have as many great years with Tom too! I love and adore him more than anything ❤️❤️❤️
You are so lucky to have Tom around for you. He is so understanding, loving and tolerant of everything that you have to do and go through. All of us search for someone like him!
I dont understand why there are any dislikes for this vid. Absolutely bonkers. You are so kickass lady!! I have cystic fibrosis and have been battling severe kidney infections as well as a on going chest bronchial infection and you inspire me to be positive. I was feeling really crap and guilty about having to stay in bed and having no energy to do anything all day and how that was effecting my family and significant other and seein u tall about thr shower accomplishment made me feel better my situation and reminded me to be kinder to myself. Im just reached my 30's which is terrifying in it self but your videos help me not focus on that . Thank you
I've been lliving with a bad gall bladder and this is written restropect from when I had it removed. I feel a bit like you. I can't eat much of anything without a lot of pain, of things not moving , I do drink a ton of warm water and decaff teas to help move things along. Lost a bunch of wt watching fat intake but feeling miserable after most meals even with watching fat intake. Yes, sometimes I have to put something in my stomach just to ease the pain, mainly it's warm chicken or beef broth just to ease the hunger and however not block up anything that moves my intestines. Living this way means always watching what you put into your system, always making sure there is a bathroom close, not traveling much, not getting too far from home. What I go thru is NOTHING however to what you are dealing with. Mine is temporary... yours is chronic and I don't know how you remain so upbeat and resillient but I give you much cudos for perserving you my friend just rock.
The electric fleece topped underblankets are amazing. The better quality ones have a lot of heat settings and being below you they really help with your whole body and keep you really cosy.
Amy, you are amazing how you tackle life head on and confident enough to share the up and downs of chronic illness. You are helping to break down barriers on a subjects that polite people are willing to ask. Take care of yourself and be gentle to yourself when you need to.
That really was a ton of running around, so I hope you are feeling more rested now. Not long until your surgery now, I am sure you are nervous but I know this will make you feel so much better. Glad your TPN was sorted and that you've got some books now to keep you company while you heal from your surgery. Sending lots of love!!!
So glad the TPN issues are sorted quickly, that’s so good and makes these times easier to manage (in theory). Sending hugs to you and Tom 🥰🥰 and thank you for everything you do and for allowing us to be included in your lives 💐💐
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Ian Grayson Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Love love the call the midwife books, better than the series I think and also only the first, not sure how many series, are taken from the books as Jennifer Worth passed away. I actually met her in my last year of midwifery training in 2009, she came to do a talk about life as a midwife in the 1950’S. I love following you and you do an amazing job of raising awareness for EDS. I recently had a patient with it and it helped me to care for her better as I understood a little bit of her needs, so well done and keep on keeping on 😊 xxxx
Stephanie Draper omg that’s amazing that you got to meet her! How wonderful 😱 and I’m so glad my videos helped you treat your patient better, that’s honestly a huge success in my eyes and really motivates me to keep on doing what I’m doing. So thank you! ❤️❤️
100% understand the naive/stereotypical point - I live with supplemental oxygen & use a wheelchair/mobility scooter a lot of the time. find it interesting/amusing/sometimes annoying to see the reaction of most people being like 'you're too young to have this' and such. Like no, life sucks sometimes, just how it is for us, but we do what we gotta do. So yep, you're not alone in feeling that way!
Two of my friends bought me a heated blanket for my birthday in February and omg it is sooooo amazing! It's too hot where I am so I can't use it right now but during the winter it helped my pain so much! I woke up and in less pain everyday I can use it!
for a heating blanket, take a weighted blanket with glass beads (not plastic) and put it in the dryer so it gets warm (takes at least 10 minutes)... perfect heated blanket!!
I have been your subscriber for long and what a coincidence I AM FROM DARJEELING,which is known for its tea,its a small district in INDIA..even I suffer from a serious illness and have been under medication for long so your videos really motivates me to go on with life..Thankyou 💜
I’m a physiotherapist. You should not put heat on after surgery as it increases inflammation and blood flow. You need to only use ice for the first 7-10 days and only then if there is minimal swelling. You risk increased bleeding into the joint space or areas where the sutures aren’t tight enough with heat as heat improves blood flow. Heat is best used for chronic pain. For post surgical pain, there are these ice machines that cycle ice and water through a light weight bladder type attachment. Ossur has one you can buy on amazon for less than $200. I used it after my last 4 knee surgeries and it helped so much with pain relief as well as improved healing.
I am from Austria 🇦🇹 and I want to send allll my love to you. You are such a strong person and I really admire you for how strong and positive you are! Even though I just have some mental issues and no problems with my health, you’re helping me so much because you show that even though life is hard, you should always try and stay as positive as possible.💞 Thank you for keeping me and so much other people out there motivated and hopeful. 🙏🏼❤️
Your hair has gotten so lush & thick. Lovely😍👍 All the best for your upcoming surgery. I'm a Christian and will pray for your success, strength & recovery. Be Most Blessed✨
Love love ur coat. Where did you get it? The light brown suede with the fur collar with the buckles hanging off the collar.... Wish I could have seen the whole coat.
I have had the ablation for SVT twice. I happened to be a small percentage of the population that has my phrenic nerve (that controls your diaphragm hence breathing) is in the wrong place. So the electrophysiologist couldn’t ablate the whole problem area of the node. So he went back in 6 months later to try to get more of it. It’s not 100% fixed, but more dealable. It was a lot easier procedure and recovery than I expected.
I experienced the gnawing pain of hunger when my gallbladder was dying and it was so not pleasant-eating made me sick, not eating made me sick. But yet eating did not stop that pain. Also, for some strange reason I wanted to see you fill your month's supply of meds! It's like looking at other people's planners or other little pieces of someone's life that you normally don't get to see.
“I’m from Iowa” - “oh that sounds so fancy!” 😂😂😂 haha being from the Midwest that made me laugh so hard haha cause Iowa is like the least fancy place on earth 😂
I get your OCD, I'm just the same. My meds come in a blister pack and are kept in a locked tin(due to regulations of my supported housing) I can't allow old pack to touch the new one. You amaze me just how you cope with everything, you're such an inspiration. Love n many hugs, God bless from jules in the UK xxxxx
Such a bummer that your TPN keeps messing up. Glad you are able to enjoy time with your friends. Those churros and chocolate looks and sounds delicious. Nice that you were able to overcome your apprehension of taking a shower. Take care.
Hi Amy where did you order that little blanket from? I was born with hip dysplasia and now have osteoarthritis in my hip and looking at needing a hip replacement soon. I find heat helps especially in cold weather but struggling to find something suitable.
Love you Amy! I just want to say how inspirational you are. You look fantastic even though I know you don’t feel fantastic. Oh and I had to laugh because I just recently discovered that churros are drainable! 😂 I wasn’t intending to drain them but my GP is flaring so it became necessary. I was thankful it drained easily
Heated blanket are great I have mine on whenever I’m in bed and it help warm up all of your joints. Where did you get the pill organisers from I’ve been looking for one that has three compartments. I hope your surgery goes smoothly we’re all here thinking about you xx
@Amy'slife I have those trimmers and eyebrow comb. Trimmers are for your false lashes, to cut them length you want. And the little sharp comb part, is to comb through, when your mascara is clumpy. And the brush part is to brush through your eyebrows 😘
So, churros are drainable... what is not drainable or difficult? Is it all about textures, hard/soft foods,...? I thought once it's chewed, everything is drainable? 🤔
Get a electric heated mattress pad they are awesome. We have one that was a dual control one for each side of the bed. And it had graduated warm zones.
I have a electric blanket and it's amazing. It great for those night where it's really cold 😍. I got a letter today about a referral for MSK, not really related to your condition, but it still a medical issue. Nervous but excited to fix my knees.
Hey Amy, I was wondering how your weighted blanket was working for you? I’ve been thinking about getting one for myself, mainly because I’m a restless sleeper because of anxiety, maybe it will give me a better night’s sleep. So how has yours been for you? Love you!
Stereotypical was correct sugar 😁 I love your videos, I have an electric blanket for my bed and I fully recommend, it's amazing for aches and pains and would do your joints good. Also, I love tea, I buy all different types and blend my own up, if you don't have tea bag casings you can just buy a cheap pop sock/ankle stocking and use that instead, works just as well. I used ginger peel and lemon peel in my teas, it's lush. Also, I don't know if it would be any use to you but turmeric is amazing for inflammation in the body, if you could find some way of having a full teaspoon every day I think it would really help. I'm not sure if you could put something like that down your tube or not. It's brilliant for joint pain mostly but works on the digestive tract aswell. Keep doing you and lots of love from the UK. Xx
I work in pharmacy in the U.S. We make TPNs for some patients. We've been having issues getting empty bags to put the TPNs in. The bags we have been able to get have had issues with seals, clamps, bag quality, and anything else than can go wrong with a bag, has gone wrong at least once. Very frustrating for everyone involved as they get wasted, it takes almost an hour to make one TPN, and often we are facing a deadline to have them completed in addition to all our other duties. When we have multiple, it can be even worse to have even one bag malfunction due to shortage of ingredients.
Savannah Ballard my hospital don’t do ports unfortunately and it’s not part of the TPN protocol. There guidelines say a PICC line for short term TPN and a Hickman line for long term. Ports are just somthing they don’t offer where I live 😅
Amy is also on TPN every night and a Hickman would be better as a line then a port as ports require more maintenance, need de accessing every seven days, and then re accessing so as far as I know in Australia when TPN is considered and not just in Amy’s hospital, when lines are placed for TPN a port isn’t considered. If she already had a port and then needed TPN, different story xx
It's amazing to think it's winter there when it's summer here I'm in Jacksonville Florida I have four extra bedrooms on my house y'all should come for a visit
Thank you for replying and letting me know this is your main channel, I don’t do Instagram, Facebook and such, I do Snapchat but I’m so glad to know I’m on your main channel. I’m having some medical issues with my back nerve pain and numbness and knee issues so I have several surgeries in the future but waiting to hear from my disability and I hope to order some of your merch soon. Could you please tell me where to shop it again. Thank you and love, hugs and prayers sweetie🎀💞🙏
That's zipfizz! It's got alot of B vitamins and it is amazing when you cant have alot of caffeine! I drink them alot when I'm sick or need a little something to help me study or work:)
Try wiping your self down with distilled aleo vera between baths food grade. It might make you feel fresher. Just hope it does not brother your sensitive skin in a allergic reaction. Use spray bottle and cotton ball. It has to be refrigerated after about 5 days so i just keep enouf in spray bottle for like4
Sometimes you just have to indulge and deal with the consequences later. The way I look at it is that I am human and it’s natural to feel hungry. Even if I know it’ll make me sick, sometimes it’s worth it. I often regret it later, but it doesn’t deter me from doing it again
As im watching this video i actually have my one wrapped around my belly right now as gp and nausea is so bad, enamas not given me much relief 😳 with the pain )sometime it can help the bloat... Oh i have a blanket that goes under my side of the fitted sheet and i love it.
It is so weird to me that it is June and you are talking about winter and being cold and such. I'm in Indiana in the u.s. and it is summer here it just messes with my mind! 😂😂😂
I know it messes with me too! Because I’ve grown up in the UK my whole life and June has always been summer and Tom has always had his birthdays in July (also English summer) so it’s still so weird to us 😂😂
@@amyslife4457 my Birthday is in July also! The 28th and the 6th is my wedding anniversary 34 yrs! Wow!!! I feel so old!! Lol was married at 19yrs old!
I got this just today someone said wow it’s not you that’s using that wheelchair is it 😫why is is like this I get stares in the chair I totally agree with you that only older people can be sick A 90 year old is probably healthier than me 🤣
Amy, I have a question about feeding tubes. I was diagnosed with GP about a year ago after a really bad flare. Then I had a nerve punch biopsy and was just diagnosed with Autonomic Neuropathy which is the cause of my POTS symptoms and my Gastroparess. I know that I had GP for about 6 years before I was diagnosed or before I had a flare that was that bad. Well, I started vomiting again after 9 months of eating very little but keeping it down. At the end of my last flare my Doctor ordered a nasal feeding that would go into the Duodenum. I did not have to get it because I stopped vomiting. Now that I am sick again and have not really been eating for months they want me to get the tube now. I just don't know what to expect. I am a Mother of 5 and work from home full time. I am so scared and this is so much change. I just wanted to know if you could help me. No one has even explained the feedings to me or how any of this works. Any guidance would be so appreciated. Thank you for your videos.
Hello •Amy, you talk OCD, I have OCD over a lot of things, one major one for me concerns med foil packs, I have to open them in specific patterns idk whether you have to take your meds with you into hospital but we (UK) do but bless them, the nurses usually just pop the pills out in any old order which drives me mad it really winds me up! When I think about it there's a lot of things that I have OCD about, having the TV vol on an odd number, odd numbers in general, how I now the lawn or paint a ceiling the number thirteen etc. I know you have OCD too but people who dont just do not understand. I might make it the subject of my first you tube video lol. Good luck with your hip surgery and love and hugs xx 🧓🇬🇧🦖👍😊
I think after hip surgery it would be ill advised to use heat on your hip. I think cold compress would what your surgeon will suggest. You’re right. People are naive and probably if you were young and healthy living a normal life you’d be just like them! I know how you feel though.
Is there a such thing as “disability” in Australia? Where you get money and special insurance If you qualify? It’s a long process, but worth it for those with chronic illness here. I’m sure you know all this. Just curious about Australia ♥️
Sawyer's Autism Journey she mentioned a resource in her last video actually. It’s essentially a type of disability coverage that’ll help her get much-needed supplies for free
Yes there is such thing as disability but unfortunately Tom & I earn “too much” money so I’m not eligible. However I did talk about NDIS which is similar and would help me out tremendously especially since it’s not based on income like disability is. So if I get granted it, it should help with my medical expenses & medical equipment etc
We miss her so much thank you for having these on so we can reflect on her life

I have a electric blanket and it's amazing. It great for those night where it's really cold 😍. I got a letter today about a referral for MSK, not really related to your condition, but it still a medical issue. Nervous but excited to fix my knees.
Hey Amy, I was wondering how your weighted blanket was working for you? I’ve been thinking about getting one for myself, mainly because I’m a restless sleeper because of anxiety, maybe it will give me a better night’s sleep. So how has yours been for you? Love you!
Your a huge inspiration, I don’t have what you have but I have rheumatoid arthritis and watching your videos always make me feel better
Tom is so good! ❤️
Xx
Like you said Amy the hamburger 🍔 was so worth it you have to live and experience the so called good stuff once in awhile
Can you put up a link for your heat blanket please?
I just finished the 4th season of Lucifer tonight. It's such a great series. I hate having to wait for the next season. I hope you are doing well! 💕
Got a question Amy! How come your Drs decided to do a Hickman instead of a port for your TPN? I'm in the US so here it may be different
Damn, pumpkin spice latte sounds amazing its like 37 degrees here start of summer
I've had ablation, but on my nerves by my spine in my neck and lower back. That was scary enough I can't imagine what you go through with your heart.

Our mecca. Is a clothing line itss crazy expensive but one of my favorite brands
Could you use a tooth pick or something to break the foil back so it's easier to pop out
Zip fizz are apparently amazing.
It has to be refrigerated after about 5 days so i just keep enouf in spray bottle for like4
Iowa is a lovely state in the USA 😀
Just came back from lunch and I already want to throw it all up but it was so good
I know the feeling! It’s so hard somtimes but also so worth it 🙏🏼😅
@@amyslife4457 OMG I can't believe you replied. You are the one keeps me going on.
Sometimes you just have to indulge and deal with the consequences later. The way I look at it is that I am human and it’s natural to feel hungry. Even if I know it’ll make me sick, sometimes it’s worth it. I often regret it later, but it doesn’t deter me from doing it again
I have also had an ablation ( twice bc the first one didn't work ) and I hope you aren't nervous bc it's really not that bad!
Use a clean sock to make the loose tea (clean=new) , sorry, I never use teabags ;-)
Beautiful gifts ❤️
As im watching this video i actually have my one wrapped around my belly right now as gp and nausea is so bad, enamas not given me much relief 😳 with the pain )sometime it can help the bloat...

It is so weird to me that it is June and you are talking about winter and being cold and such. I'm in Indiana in the u.s. and it is summer here it just messes with my mind! 😂😂😂
I'm in Indiana too!
I know it messes with me too! Because I’ve grown up in the UK my whole life and June has always been summer and Tom has always had his birthdays in July (also English summer) so it’s still so weird to us 😂😂

A 90 year old is probably healthier than me 🤣
Iowa is in the Midwest.
I take 22 tablets every morning and there is no way they will fit in one of those containers so when I go away I just take all the packets
Lucifer is the best! Glad you like the show too. Sending good vibes your way.
I think after hip surgery it would be ill advised to use heat on your hip. I think cold compress would what your surgeon will suggest. You’re right. People are naive and probably if you were young and healthy living a normal life you’d be just like them! I know how you feel though.
OMG! I’m wearing the same PJ’s!
Hey Amy, the ZipFizz is an energy drink!!
Yess I love when you upload. Made my day!!💕💕 love you
Emma-Rose love you too! 💓🥰
8:25 he saw ur face and still tried to open it even though it would hit ur face 😂😂😂❤️
Hazel Anna-leigh haha classic Tom 😂😂😂
