Thanks, nice review as always. After running a few hundred rounds through the bullpup I'm still getting used to the side lever location (usually find myself reaching over the buttstock and cocking the sidelever with my left hand). For me, the main weakness of this compared to the standard length, which I also run in .22, is the high, not-so-solid scope mounting rail.
I quickly learned NOT to use it as a carry handle, bc it can't be tightened enough so there's no play in it. Once I'm zeroed with a particular pellet, as long as the rail isn't touched or handled any more than necessary, it's been really accurate. And a Donny L Sumo suppressor is the best I've found for it so far of 4 I've tried, very quiet.
*Almost* as accurate as the long version with its scope mounted more solidly right to the receiver, but the big plus for me is the bullpup's shorter overall length. It's tough to travel through our thick woods here in N PA with the standard rifle stock, already long, with a suppressor adding yet another 7" or 8" to the end.
Anyway, overall I love both Avenger .22's so far. The above is just my $.02 worth. Hope it's helpful.
Pre ordered! Just waiting for those bad boys to get off the boat!
Are you still waiting after 6 months? I just preordered yesterday!
@@jamesmay3747 I've had it for 4 or so months! Great gun
I'll add this to my collection.
I have run all three calibers of Avengers the first year they came out. The .22 was impressive. The .177 and .25 were also impressive but both had issues with QC that I had to address before they were really up to the level of the .22. That said, one very important tip that I never hear being mentioned on the videos for the lower priced guns, which are often the first airgun folks buy, is get a can of Ballistol and a device for pulling patches and plan a nice long cleaning session (I love the Patch Worm system). All three Avengers I received had barrels that ranged from dirty to incredibly filthy. On the .177 I finally resorted to a few patches of compound to break down the crud in the barrel. But, once properly cleaned and tuned, this is an amazing rifle. Really a shame that they elected to go with that butt-stock lever arm. I believe that anyone who has had to shoot a bullpup with that type of lever would gladly pay an extra $50 for the forward set lever on the slightly higher end bullpups.
That's a lot more engineering and parts which equals a much higher price as well. It's not as simple as it looks from the outside.
Check out Bonacci Avenger Bullpup Quickshot Lever Kit. As far as I know, it's the only thing out there that addresses the buttstock lever issue.
what is the next step up in value PCP ?
Try the H&N baracuda 21.14gr (2900psi). You will be suprised at 50 yards. If you face any poi shifts just put some thick paper pieces between the barrelbands to tighten the schroud with the bands. Love this gun.
What about on the hammer spring turns?
Great review Tyler keep it up ......
We need a full auto bullpup in 25ca or larger ASAP. Hatsan Blitz Bullpup, etc
Beautyful air gun
Nice look at the Avenger bull pup. A great buy at $400. The rear action is not so good for us lefties.
@@timmy4539 8 hr :-p
Very cool! And the Bullpup is nice too 😎
Thanks Haj!
Second review today of this bullpup.
Awesome I've been on the fence about getting this or another pcp this review and the price has turned me it the direction of the air venture thanks
Hope you enjoy it!
Nice looking gun and accurate to boot.👍👍
Good job Tyler. Your reviews are getting better and better over the years. We really appreciate hearing the stuff that is not related to specifications: How the trigger pull feels, how the side lever cocking feels, etc.
It looks like you used high rings to get a comfortable height?
I bet it'd be no problem to get 3 mags at 20 FPE on a 2,000 psi hand pump fill, eh?
Very nice video editing, too.
Thanks Jeremy! Appreciate the kind words.
On the rings, they were what was on the scope when I went to mount it. It was pretty comfortable as is, but I could've probably gotten away with medium comfortably as well. That said, didn't have any issues zeroing the scope with the high rings.
I'd say you'd probably need to go a little higher than 2000, maybe 2500, but definitely still very easy to hand pump to get that. Set the reg in the 1400-1600 psi range, tweak the hammer spring to your liking and you'd have a nice pump friendly low 20s FPE setup for sure.
Very nice!
hi thanks or your review . i am trying to get into air gunning for pet control this review has help me decide which air venturi i should get.
AEA Zeus.
It is a little harder finding a bipod to fit the bottom rail. As far as working the action and safety reach under with your left hand and work them.
Great video.
Do you have, or have you considered to make a video comparing the 2 Avengers, Bullpup and Rifle? Pros and cons of each. I'm undecided between the 2. THANKS!!!
I'll hold our for the wood stock with a forward mounted cocking lever.
Nice looking rifle! Does it come with left handed version?
It does not, though we have a few lefties here at the office that have shot it without a problem. Just have to lift your head up and away to cock the gun
@@tylerpatner6591 Got it. Thanks for the info!

I am a lefty as well. I have learned to do many things with my right hand including shooting rifles. It wouldn’t hurt to try. Also my right eye is dominate so it didn’t seem like I had a choice. Lol
very accurat Airgun Amaizing
Thank you! Share and like this video if not already ;-)
Muy buen rifle
I personally don't buy anything under .25 since, although I sometime practice, I don't get anything out of shooting paper ultimately I want to hunt something so I want as much punch as possible.
More punch ruins more meat and uses more air. This .22 would be fine for anything up to raccoon size.
How durable is that tall spindly rail? We need some durability testing reviews to make sure it doesn't suffer from some of the other affordable bullpup rail system issues.
Good video Tyler. Is there any way you can make a quick video operating the Bullpup left handed? Also with the height of the bullpup with scope would you recommend a compound bow case? I haven’t made up my mind between this bullpup, Artemis 35 or the Akela
I too am struggling between the P35 and the Avenger bullpups. The Artemis is a proven gun, very accurate but a bit under powered and not easily adjustable.
@@rickrazz7136 the Hatsan BullBoss looks like it should work for lefty’s too
@@fabianf.7089 it's an awesome (and heavy) gun with accuracy and tons of power!
@@rickrazz7136 I’m definitely getting one. I just don’t know which one
Akela is very accurate but not regulated,I believe the avenger is better for the price
Why buy this over the Hatsan Flash or the Benjamin import from Turkey (Akela)? I'm sincerely asking.
Neither of those guns are regulated. On top of that, the Avenger regulator is externally adjustable as is the hammer spring tension. So you can tune the gun to your liking very easily. Nothing wrong with the Flash or Akela though, both solid guns.
because you might like plastic picatinny rails😉
@@tylerpatner6591 Thanks for the response. Any word on a Full Auto Bullpup or a Hatsan Blitz Bullpup? I'll add that to my collection.
@@nunyubizness5483 Haven't heard anything regarding a new full auto from Hatsan at this point but they may surprise us at SHOT show in a few weeks...who knows.
The only thing I don't like about the scope mounting is its to,high up.....do they make something to lower it closer to the barrel ,,,,,
Nope, that rail is pretty high you are correct, but that's an issue for many bullpups!
Why in the world is the scope SO high off the barrel? Lower is more allows more chances to be accurate.
Thanks for the review! I'm torn as asking for a bit of advice..... what caliber would you recommend .22 or .25? I currently own a 22 Gauntlet and looking to move into a bullpup configuration not sure if moving up in caliber would benefit me or not. Looking to move more towards hunting however will also be used as a plinking machine with the kids.
Since Avenger is very versatile you can get a lot out of .22 and .25 (tone it down for plinking and bring it back up for hunting). For hunting I always say the bigger the better, but it also somewhat depends on the distance you are planning on hunting at?
I can't get pass the scope rail how high it is ...
Tyler, I know you’ve mentioned tuning and many others have, but out of the box this avenger can be tuned for higher power shots? Maybe less shot count? I would like it to shoot around 920-950 FPS in .22. Mainly for slugs. Hopefully lol
Yes absolutely. You'll want to check out AEAC's tuning guide video on the original Avenger. The out of the box tune on this gun in particular was definitely a mid power tune, no where near the top end of the power range that the gun is capable of.
Tyler do you have a video link on the Slavia 630/631!?
Nice video 👍 Can a Donny FL moderator be added to the original Avenger?
Yes the Donny Fl adapter can be added to the original as well as the bullpup!
There is also more compact barrel stabilizing moderator available on eBay. This also works on both th avenger and the avenger bullpup.
It also utilizes the shrouds air volume more so than the adapter does.
I have used the eBay stabilizing moderator with great success.
Easy to instal and definitely added to barrel stability
Yes, he even said so in the review.
Try buck rail
What are the settings you used to get the 88 shot count?
Sorry for the late reply. It's the Eco tune offered here: www.pyramydair.com/product/air-venturi-avenger-bullpup-regulated-pcp-air-rifle?m=671 (click on the Tune Up service)
Nice review Tyler..👍 With the optic rail so high, does it seem that the user will end up jumping down a height size in mounts? Also, how different is the stock material? Thicker? Is it as cheap feeling as the OG?
The stock material is different from the first avenger rifle. A better feel from what I'm told.
Guess that depends on what's comfortable for you, but with the adjustment built into the cheek piece, it would be very easy to go with lower rings if you wanted to. The stock material is 100% different from the original synthetic used for the Avenger rifle. Much higher quality feeling and looking.
Well......I'm excited about that...I'm not gonna cry too hard about the rear-ward cocking lever......🤔😕...Unless it was to keep cost down as they could maybe borrow or use the same part machines for as the rifle version .....I hear they are not the same in terms of actions so not able to swap actions between stocks...Correct? Or?🤷🏻♂️
@@cornfields-crosshairs4182 The actions are the same, but there are a few other differences/additional parts involved for the bullpup. Trigger linkage, different barrel bands and the scope rail of course.
So, not a great slug shooter? My .22 avenger neither. I think I'll go with the .177 and pellets.
The cheak piece goes up as well no one ever says that and his cheak looked just above the rest when he was shooting. Just saying .
Does it shoot slugs
Me gusta
Will the DonnyFl adapter work with the bullpup?
Yes
Lol the hieght of that scope above the axis of the bore is outlandishly ridiculous!❗❗🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
is the cocking leaver reversible.
It is not
@@tylerpatner6591 which air rifle would you recommend for left handed persons.
@@trevorslingshots4842 look at the Artemis P35
@@fabianf.7089 thank you .
@@trevorslingshots4842 The Avenger rifle should be much easier to operate for a lefty. As far as bullpups go, check out the Walther Reign as that one has a forward mounted cocking system that can be swapped for right/left handed shooters.
🧡💛🤤❤💚👍
dont order from pyramid air. horrible customer service plus they will just take your money they say they never got . if you think you want one ofb there air guns order from amazon or ebay. if anything goes wrong with order they go above and beyond to make it right.
